Yes. Just yes. Modesto finally has a true Bubble Tea and Boba Cafe As someone who frequents the bay area every weekend and consumes about 1-2 of these drinks every time, this place is downright amazing. As I write this I'm still sipping on my Large Lychee Icy w Lychee Jelly and it is just the perfect amount of sweetness, (unlike the one from Tapioca Express in UC which can be overpowering sweet.) I've tried various shakes from the Viet places in town - they're okay. I've tried One Cup Cafe - would never go back, the drinks are gross. The icing on the cake was how nice and friendly everyone was behind the counter. They greeted us courteously and the lady at the register even chatted with us for a few minutes as we exclaimed our excitement. If we hadn't eaten a big breakfast we would have tried the snacks or Banh Mi. Another visit is definately in order! Owner --- you are super awesome for bringing this Cafe to Modesto. Finally Modesto has a legit bubble tea place! This place is located in a great area with a lot of foot traffic. Only 15 minutes from the local high school and junior college. Walking into it is very clean and spacious. I wish there was a more obvious sign that pointed to where the register was. I stood behind a line waiting for their drinks rather than to order. The snack menu was a bit pricier than expected, but the again this place is new. I got a Thai iced tea with mini boba, while my friend got a strawberry milk tea with regular boba. My drink was on the watered down side since I could barely taste any Thai tea. The strawberry milk was much better. It had a hint of strawberry that wasn't too overwhelming for the taste buds. This place has a lot of potential and really friendly service. I'll definitely come again and try out some of their other drinks. read more

This was a cute hole in the wall cafe! Interior: the color scheme and layout of the place made it seem inviting and fun. Service: wonderful service! The employees are so nice and friendly. They were so patient when we came in a group and took a while to decide what we wanted to order. They noticed we were sitting around waiting so they suggested we play with the board games they had available. How neat! Food: I ordered a bubble MT with boba. The milk tea was delicious. A nice blend of tea and milk but the boba was okay (I tend to like my boba on the chewier side). All in all, tcups cafe is a quaint place that I would definitely recommend and want to come back again to try more items on the menu. This place has been good in the past.. I went yesterday with my man and his family. There was someone getting trained by a woman who looked like the manager or owner. We were not greeted. When we asked where we could find their ice cream flavors available and we were ignored! I asked a few times and they didn't even look up. We ended up ordering two crepes, a sandwich and fries, and a mango ice cream. They put the mango ice cream on one of the crepes, by mistake. And my sandwich was missing ingredients. I had the jasmine milk tea and crepe which had strawberry, nutella, vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream and drizzled with more chocolate and strawberry sauce. Ohhh yummy goodness! I think my only input for improvement since it's a new establishment is better placing of the register. The corn really made it pop. It was delicious. The crepe on its own was perfect. The grilled chicken was excellent. The corn was sweet and fresh. Top it all with CHEESE. Will not knock your socks off but will definitely satisfy your cravings for boba tea and other quick snacks. Every time I visit my drink is prepared differently. Some days my Taro is the best I've ever had and other days it's flavorless and grainy. I was pleasantly surprised they had Rose milk tea on their flavors menu. Lastly, their tapioca could be a lot better so I'm happy they don't give you so many. Their food menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Again the quality depends on who's preparing it. I once received burnt egg rolls that were inedible. Their desserts menu is definitely the best and well portioned. The waffles and crepes are always delicious and sweet. I am never disappointed when I'm here, I'm just not impressed. The boba is always has an off consistency which ruins the drink for me. The taro flavor leaves a consistency in my mouth. I really enjoyed my experience here. Me and my friends all got Boba tea, and loved it. For some of them, it was their first time experiencing it. We also purchased multiple types of crepe, and all of them were excellent, with fresh fruit and good ice cream inside. I'm curious as to how the rest of the menu is, and will definitely be trying more of it later. The atmosphere was very nice, bright colors and plenty of seating, which made being there very nice. The only thing that wasn't advantageous about the seating is that it felt a little cramped at times, but this is to be expected of a small place like this. The equipment was very new, I found the cash register extremely cool. It was super modern in design, which you don't see much in the valley these days. The staff was very friendly and helpful to the friends of mine that had never experienced Boba tea before, which I applaud this establishment for. The customer service is top notch. They had mostly lettuce, each shrimp was cut in half so there was a total of maybe two shrimp in four rolls. Peanut sauce was coagulated-blech. It's nice and some what odly shaped inside there could be more room if the front desk wasn't so up close, anyways. They have many different varieties to choose from including some snack foods they offer. Bubble tea,bubble milk. In my opinion totally expensive like tapioca is extra and you get 2 options a small or a large but doesn't make sense to get a small since its a couple cents different.... Coming from Seattle I've had better bubble teas at our local Pho vendors. Would I try this again? No maybe not. But I do recommend the coconut waffle. ANNOUNCEMENT: Christine is venturing out in the big Modo!!! Last night, around 8, I came with New Friend (yay for FINALLY making friends in the big Modo...PEOPLE CALL ME, I'M A NICE GIRL) to T-Cups to try their selection of boba teas. Firstly, I really like the location. I've never been to downtown Mod before -- most of my co-workers scared me to death and warned me not to come to the area...but I DON'T KNOW WHY. In my opinion, parts of downtown are absolutely beautiful (...although empty and quiet -- everything closes so early in da Mod). The movie theater area/T-Cups area remind me a lot of downtown Sacramento (a location I'm very fond of and have many good college memories at). The establishment, itself, is also rather nice -- bright colors, bright lighting, and a large seating area. The employees are also extremely kind -- very helpful in answering questions, patient through long orders (I ordered four drinks and New Friend ordered two), and accommodating of special requests. I ordered a plain black tea (no milk) with boba. The drink DID have a nice, strong tea flavor (...although it was JUST black tea so....). I'm not sure how their milk teas fare in comparison. However, the drink was simply NOT sweet enough and MOREOVER, the BOBA itself was....very, very soft. I'm not sure if this is because New Friend and I went at the end of the day (they may have left their boba soaking in water, thus, resulting in the soft texture) but I was a little disappointed. Overall, it was a fun experience -- ultimately, I'm glad I was simply able to brave going into downtown Mod (and AT NIGHT -- props to me right??). One of the worst places to go for boba in my opinion. I've been here about 4 times and all the milk teas I've ordered were really watered down. It tasted like I was drinking straight up milk and the fruit teas I ordered were extremely sweet and the artificial syrup flavor was overwhelming. The only things that this place has going for them are their funnel cakes & crepes which are pretty decent and their staff is also very nice & friendly. And yes, I will admit that I had this very misleading conversation with my husband in wanting to try this place. Husband: (more awkward silence, shift in posture) I suppose they could be...? If that's what you really want to do. Me: (sensing reluctance and awkwardness) I thought you liked milk tea? (Continued confusion in talking about two separate topics for five more minutes) So yeah, after you get over the hump of their name, it's a nice little place. I'm accustomed to Fantasia in Cupertino where I was first introduced to it, and was most likely spoiled in having it there. The space is nice and the snack offerings are quite tasty. The drinks were good, but I can't rate them as great. I've only tried two, and they both tasted the same (but were different drinks). It definitely warrants further investigation. I was hoping they would have some offerings with green tea, but no. Wish I was downtown so it could be more convenient to visit them.
