After my insurance company caused complications that led to First Call terminating the job which I understood, I received an invoice in May of last year. I paid that balance in full with two separate checks within two weeks. I have the receipts, the copies of the checks, and the bank statements showing exactly when First Call cashed them. After a full year of zero communication, I woke up today to a voicemail and email threatening to send me to collections within 48 hours. They claimed they had been "trying to reach me" for 12 months, which is untrue. I checked my call logs and my email history; there was absolutely nothing. When I called and provided my proof of payment and the exact dates they cashed my checks, they admitted the "error" was simply because someone forgot to check a box in their system. It is incredibly stressful and offensive to have your credit threatened because a company can't be bothered to check their own bank deposits before sending out threats. As a veteran, I live by a standard of integrity and doing your due diligence. Relying on a "checked box" as the Bible instead of doing actual research is lazy and unprofessional. Do better, not just for your customers, but for the reputation of the guys out there doing the actual work.

I was without a kitchen for 8 months and had to fight to get payment from GE Appliance for the damages my claim was denied after 4 months, and I had to go after the Contractors that did the installation. Ellis and Lawton Const. was extremely patient regards to payment for the Mold and Remediation that was completed 4 months prior. As it took 7 months before I was paid by the contractors Insurance. Truly grateful for their patience as it would have caused an extreme financial hardship to pay to pay out of pocket. I will definitely use this company for any further needs that may arise. The Recon team did and amazing job with the build out for my cabinets as well as insulation and sheet rock, Jaime works really hard and did an amazing job. The supervisor Mike and Joel are amazing as well they made sure that the cabinets matched perfectly to my existing cabinets and that I was a happy customer. All or very professional, and always on time for the job. Steve is a great guy and really looked out from my family and I when he came to do the measurements and estimate he is very knowledgeable within his position. I would definitely use the Recon Department if needed in the near future as well.

The team was incredible from start to finish. Ellis (Project Manager) was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. He answered all my questions, returned my calls quickly, and even came out to my house personally to make sure everything was on track. Kristen in the office was also super friendly and helpful anytime I called in. But the real MVP was Isaiah. He was absolutely outstanding, professional, dependable, and genuinely cared about doing the job right. He texted me daily with updates, always called ahead before stopping by, and made sure I knew exactly what was happening at every stage of the process. His attention to detail and communication gave me total peace of mind. You could tell he took pride in the work. Jose and Javier also did a fantastic job alongside him, the whole crew was respectful, efficient, and just great people to have in your home during a stressful time. They also went above and beyond by making sure insurance approved the claim before opening up any walls, so I wouldn't get hit with an unexpected bill. Once we had the green light, they got to work quickly, kept everything clean and organized, and handled the mitigation like pros. I'll be using my own contractor for the repairs, so I can't speak to that side, but as far as mitigation goes, Lawton crushed it. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again or recommend them to anyone dealing with water damage.

I appreciate the job they did during the mitigation process by containing the area with a thick plastic membrane. They removed the affected walls and floors to prevent molds from sprouting. The paper works took a while for the repair to kick in. I love the way they meticulously repair the wall including the painting of the entire ceiling, reinstallation of the blinds, and cleaning process. The wall repair took at least 2 days to complete. The demolition and the installation of the floor was also good. If there's one thing that needs to be improved is the workflow from the flooring guys. During the demolition process, there was no plastic covering for the appliances like tv, gas range, or even in the kitchen area where dust accumulate. They are also not courteous on removal of toilet seat (dragging into the floor) and doors with respect to where they should be placed temporarily. But overall they did a great job on the floor installation. The next step on the repair process was the caulking and painting of baseboard which they did an awesome job; from preparation to completion. The last step was the delivery and reset of the furnitures. I highly recommend Jordi on the hauling out and in of our furnitures. He make sure that each and every furnitures are wrapped in blanket and plastic and other smaller items are appropriately contained in a box with paper fillings. He's very professional on the way he handles the job. As always, there's always a room for improvement, but I still recommend MDC Builders on any project based on my experience.

She showed me the can and it was not a color match can because it had the color name on it. It's foolish to think I've never color matched paint or know what the cans look like. They start with a neutral base and that's what the can shows on the outside. Then the machine adds the paint colors to make the match. Also as you are aware, the paint I bought was new and the walls weren't even fully painted yet as I had just moved in when the water damage occurred. Why do you change facts? And if your employees were properly instructed and supervise this wouldn't have happened. I told her it didn't match and I wasn't sure about the color, but she proceeded to paint the entire room anyway. We already discussed the situation with the hot water hook up to the washer. As you are aware the movers brought it back and hooked up the lines after the vanity was installed and work was done. They don't test the appliances. The movers had assumed as I would have that they were already turned on. They do not troubleshoot plumbing. Why would the cold water be on and not the hot? Turning on all the water valves was something that was supposed to done after the vanity was reinstalled. I spent additional money due to this oversight. I began receiving an error code when I ran warm water washes and Miele said to have a repair person come out. The repair person said water wasn't coming in and they assume there was an issue with the line so a plumber had to be called. Thankfully, after they couldn't find anything wrong, they decided to check under the sink and found the hot water was off. I offered to call the original contractor about the sliding door track but you said I didn't need to. Then you proceeded to sell me a different system without even coming back to measure the space. Folding doors or purchase at Home Depot and included the track and parts. instead of telling me they were sold as a kit you said you saw the doors at Home Depot and that I needed to replace the doors and track because they were old. However, they were installed in 2022. There is more I could say but this is enough. The damage is done. The lack of professionalism from you regarding the issues and the lack of honesty in your response should be a concern to anyone looking for a contractor
