I used to come here years ago (different owners) and it was so so. The new owners (the last four years) have made it my favorite place for Chinese food. The servings are huge and the food is always delicious. Their hot and sour soup is a must. I have hubby get it when I'm fighting a cold. It's that good. The prices are more than fair seeing we usually take a huge to go box full of food home. The take out business is busy and folks come in all through the dinner service to bring their food home. Just a great place to eat.

I'm convinced the food heaters called in sick the day I showed up because everything was cold. The saving grace was the hibachi. It came out fast, actually hot, and reminded me what temperature food is supposed to be. The buffet had a solid selection, so it's not like they were lacking options. It's just hard to appreciate cold fried rice when you're wondering, "youre telling me a cocktail shrimp fried this rice?!" The honey chicken deserves some respect, though. I've never seen honey chicken at a Chinese buffet before, and somehow, even cold, it was still the best thing I ate. Which makes me think if they ever turned on the warmers or added a microwave this place might actually be decent.

I find that a lot of other places over bread their fried dishes, but SunWok is not like that at all. Their General Tso's and Hot and Spicy chicken(not that spicy) were perfect! I asked for more spicy and they were happy to accommodate. Their egg rolls are easily they best I've ever had. Although the lack of decor makes it seem like a cold place to dine in, the staff is super friendly. I've always taken everything to go and it's always packed with care and travels well.

Driving through West Texas, my husband and I were looking for a quick place to stop for lunch…read more Knowing I LOVE dumplings, he found a restaurant in the middle of Texas that served up just that. Disclaimer: The restaurant I tried from this restaurant is not what I'd considered "authentic" as some other Yelp users have stated. It's some version that suits the local palette. Service: The service was great. The host/server seated us right away, came by to take our order when we were ready, and proceeded to check in periodically to make sure our meal was okay. Ambiance: The restaurant is pretty big, with plenty of seating available. Food: Like I mentioned, the food isn't "authentic", but it's as authentic as you can get in West Texas! The food was still good! By husband and I ordered The xiao long bao (pictured). The dumplings did not have a thin wrap or soup inside. Quite the contrary of what makes a xiao long bao what it is, but the dumpling itself was still flavored well, and delicious. It tastes like a regular dumpling cosplaying as a xiao long bao. For the entree, my husband and I shared the chicken stir fry noodle. The noodle was really good and the portions were HUGE. I'm glad we both shared an entree because we didn't have any means to take away leftovers!

I stick to the same menu items for the most part so I can't offer a wide variety of experience. The beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, double cooked pork (extra spicy), shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken (or pork) have always been great. Never a real legitimate complaint I can think of. The pork egg rolls are really good but the shrimp tempura tends to be over cooked more times than not so I quit ordering that. The fried rice isn't anything special but it's not as bad as other reviewers have said. I've noticed that once a reviewer on Yelp has one bad experience they basically destroy whatever business they are reviewing. Regardless of any good experiences at said place. I may be guilty of that too but I try to fair in the overall assessment knowing that some places struggle occasionally. All in all, it's a damn decent place to get some food to go.
