Volcano Sushi Restaurant was such a great experience! The sushi rolls were absolutely delicious and fresh. What really made the night stand out was our waitress--she was the star of the show. Attentive, funny, and full of personality, she made the evening so enjoyable. Great food and even better service--I'll definitely be coming back! The restaurant reminds me of old school restaurants with booths and curtains with fun decor. read more

These rolls are so good, a pleasant surprise in this working town. Service is always attentive and prompt. So much variety. The ambiance is why my rating is a 4, it's always clean and friendly but it is nothing that is wow. Again the food is why we are here. read more

Great service but the food was SPICY! If I go back I would only eat sushi as that was the best part of my meal and thank goodness it came before my food as after I took one bite my mouth was on fire. read more

Chicken fried rice was not good. The chicken looked and tasted foul. I'm scared that I will be sick from the sushi. The fish had a bad taste and texture. Worst 40 dollars I've ever spent in my life. read more

Came with a party of two for dinner Sunday evening. No wait time for a table but restaurant looked busy. Plenty of parking in the lot out front. They've got a large menu so your party will be able to find something they like. Super friendly attentive service!! My party had their coke refilled countless times during the evening! Record amount of refills ever! I had the hot jasmine tea which was lovely. We ordered the shrimp tempura as an appetizer but was disappointed in how it only had two pieces of shrimp. The image looked like there would be four. It came with two pieces of shrimp, one broccoli floret, one sweet potato slice, one pumpkin slice, and one onion ring. Wasn't the biggest fan of the batter they used for this, and I've definitely had better tempura so I would pass on this!! We ordered a salmon roll and three chef specialty rolls: pink lady, spider roll, and pheonix roll. My party and I both agreed that the spider roll was our favorite item of the evening. Everything tasted good and presented well. My group of two had a few pieces leftover and we were fairly full after. Bill total was $75 after tax before tip. I would return for the spider roll and try the other entrees on their menu. Come here for the drink refills haha (and the spider roll and hot tea...) and attentive service. Nice date night restaurant option!! read more

Great service and the food was delicious! Their vegetables were very fresh and I loved their hibachi sauce.

The food is always fantastic. The service is prompt and very kind all of the time. This is a fairly popular restaurant for all times of the day, so plan accordingly but it's very good! It is very modern with hints of traditional Asian vibes. read more

I'm a newbie with sushi and always get a shrimp tempura roll wherever I go. The shrimp tempura roll at Volcano is one of the best I've ever had! Gorged myself on 3 rolls and will definitely be back when back in Midland. Service was solid, cutesy vibe at lunch time. There was plenty of parking. Yum! read more

What a $#*+ hole. The guy at the door sat behind the register and hardly looked up. Sorry I bothered you. After being seated I waited long enough to think I should leave. I sat at the bar and finally he got up and got my drink order. Noticed kegs of beer stacked behind the bar and things stacked around. Not real pleasing to the eye. Wonder what the kitchen looks like ?Finished that beer and then was asked what I wanted. The two rolls were ok. Then waited and waited for someone to show up to get the check. Figured I better let go of some of this beer before I go. DID SOMEONE DIE IN THIS RESTROOM ??? I have learned my lesson. I won't be back. read more

The pad Thai was delicious. Best I've tasted in years. Also had the tuna tar tar. Yummy

The sushi was excellent and they had an excellent presentation. Service was quick and good with a great atmosphere to the place!

Love this place!! Food is always fresh and delicious! Pad Thai is possibly the best I have had and service is always excellent.

I was pleasantly surprised! This was in walking distance to my hotel and had decent ratings so deciding to give it a try. I was alone and sat at the sushi bar. Their cuts are very generous and the sweet shrimp was delightful. I also enjoyed the presentation!! It was a treat to be able to watch the sushi bar create the rolls. read more

The quality of the dished was great. I like the food; sushi, wanton soup, fried blue crabs, and salad. I have a video but only pictures are allowed to be uploaded. The sushi was delicious. Wanton soup look quite empty/plain. I should have had miso soup. The fried blue crab delicious. The Salas look depressing. Haha. The service in the beginning was poor. Maybe, because I was by myself? I was sitting by the sushi bar looking around to see if anyone would help me. The chef had to called someone to take my order. This was about my only complaint. read more

The first time I sat at the bar and a couple beside me left a full plate of sushi. I asked if they didn't like it and she whispered "We think it's bad" smells too fishy. They left and I still wanted to try it. Didn't leave impressed, it wasn't very good, but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, tried it again after 2 months and yes still bad... In fact down right sickening. I have no idea how this place is so busy, I feel gross after splitting two sushi rolls with a colleague, one raw one cooked. Both bad. The best thing was the suspiciously bright yellow crab rangoons. read more

Self-proclaimed sushi-snob here! I had a plain spicy salmon roll and it was alright, good-ish. Good flavor but it wasn't cold. It was room temp which was a slightly off putting. The salmon wasn't amazingly fresh, but edible. The roll contained tempura bits---untraditional but again, it was good. It was 6.75 for 6 pieces. Initially, I was served cold miso soup and had to request for it to be reheated. It was fine afterward. I also ordered the Ku pap shrimp and again, not hot. Just like warm. Idk about y'all but I like my food to appear freshly cooked, even if it's not. A quick zap in the microwave back there is all it takes. i digress. Otherwise, It was good. The shrimp were cooked well and the vegetables were nice and crunchy. The sauce lacked the Sichuan spice that I desired but it's whatever. On to the next I guess... read more

Had a wonderful dinner here. Great food, service and ambiance. I had the Spicy Maki Trio with Miso and side salad. My girlfriend had the chicken and broccoli. Came in and was immediately seated. Started off with a refreshing cup of water and a bowl of miso soup. It was good but my friend got the miso sweats. Next, I ordered the broke-back mountain roll... I think that's what it's called LOL. They drew me a picture of a cat. This was super concerning to me bc I wanted sushi with fish not cat. Still was good. My friend then ordered the noodles and they were spicy and caused a second round of sweats. All in all pretty good spot. Would recommend to a friend. It's a 6/10 for me. Good for Midland sushi. read more

This place was really good. Just the service sucked. He didn't check on us at all and when we asked about an item on the menu he didn't ask if we wanted it, He just rang it in and brought it to us which we wasn't sure If we wanted it, I mean it was good but not what we wanted. I would recommend this place 100% just the service needs to be worked on other than that food was delicious. read more

Incredible food. Chicken & vegetable dish had tons of very fresh flavorful veggies. Charming restaurant. Nice people.

Seated immediately during dinner for a group of 6. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered SO much food and everything was amazing. Wanted a substitution on the sushi and shashimi boat and they wanted $6 extra which seemed excessive for just a different roll that was the same price on the menu, but the boat looked great and was fun. Wish I would've taken a pic of it and all the food was great. read more
