This review is related to some warranty repair work I had done recently at my home in Castro Valley. It's been a little over a year since the install and some of the polymeric sand between the joints had washed out and we had a small area that sunk slightly. We contracted System Pavers to do our hardscape for our backyard summer of last year 2021. Nick Padilla was the project manager in charge of our project at the time and he helped us put together our project effortlessly. Last week had driveway and walkway replaced. They did a fantastic job and nothing but positive comments from neighbors. Designer Lidiana was fantastic to work with and always very quick to answer all my texts about the project. I highly recommend people listen to her. We blew her off on needing to see our stone type in person as we thought we knew what we wanted via pictures in catalog. Wrong. Lucky for us she was persistent in we see it in person. She met us at stone yard and we hated what we picked out. Way too white. But by being at stone yard we got to see all our options laid out and picked the perfect color. Should have listened to her in first place. Project manager Adrian was also easy to work with. Daily contact via text, phone, and in person about the job to be sure we got what we wanted. We recently had a new driveway installed by System Pavers and were extremely satisfied with the process and results. The pavers were installed in 1/2 the time than was projected and the quality of work surpassed our expectations. From our first contact with Roger, who provided us with the estimate and design recommendations; to Adrian, who oversaw the project, was extremely responsive to all our requests, and who provided us with support and guidance throughout the project; and to the crew who did the actual and amazing installation, we couldn't be more pleased. The crew was outstanding! They did a meticulous job laying the pavers and attending to the smallest details (like cutting the stones to fit precisely in corners, against the concrete adjacent to the garage), and creatively laying out the curves in the driveway that we requested. Our neighbors have all commented how great the driveway looks, and several have mentioned using System Pavers if they plan a similar project for their home. Although the cost was somewhat more than other estimates, in our opinion the price difference was well worth it. I would never recommend this company. I found them unprofessional, unethical, inconsiderate to property and person, disrespectful to women and the elderly. My experience with them was abysmal. My small project was started the 11th of October 2021 and I was told would be completed in a week and a half, 2 weeks tops. They were not done with my project until January the 22nd 2023. Lack of active supervision, serious unprofessionalism and no attention to detail resulted in poor grading, Failed drainage & materials not properly measured to the space needing coverage. My project had to be completely redone twice. Nick P. as a project Manager was a joke. He was never there. I had workers vulgarly swinging off of a bird feeder pole as if they were pole dancing. All while supervisors were standing around watching and laughing. (to which I have video and photos) When hiring this company I told them that I had an elderly father with memory issues on property with me and that I would like him to be disturbed as little as possible, and to let me know when they would be there so that I could keep him informed. This was not done. My elderly father was being made to swing around a gate like a monkey because work to his walkway was not completed in a timely manner, and he was afraid of doing damage to it. The immense pleasure I had to finally getting my hardscaping finished has been completely overshadowed by System Pavers lack of professionalism. My greatest joy was seeing them leave for the last time. I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your outdoor projects, as the hassle and incompetence with System Pavers is truly unpleasant. read more

One of the strong sides of System Pavers is excellent communication. Roger P., the designer assigned to the project was very responsive. We meet several times, once in person, then via Zoom and exchanged numerous emails. It took me a while to choose the pavers and Roger was always available to provide me with his opinion and advice. I'm very happy with the pavers he helped me choose. The driveway looks beautiful! Jeremy D., the project manager was very easy to work with. He was always available to answer my questions. When I noticed an issue with one area of the driveway after the pavers were installed, I immediately told Jeremy about my concern. The next morning the work crew showed up and repaved the affected area to fix the issue. There was no arguing, no questions asked. I was very pleased with how professionally they handled it. The crew was efficient too. The job was completed sooner than I expected. The workmanship was good but not exactly impeccable, especially in the light of the issue that was thankfully corrected. Given that System Pavers aren't cheap I expected perfection in all aspects, so I'm taking one star off. Tip: if you have any plants close to the driveway make sure to explicitly discuss whether they're going to be removed to avoid any surprises. We have called upon System Pavers twice. We were so pleased with their work in 2017, we called and requested Cesar Guzman, the project manager, to help us again. We had several Birch trees that lifted sections of our driveway. Also, due to the drought, our landscape had suffered as well. We blended our landscaping ideas with suggestions from System Pavers. We are thrilled with the results. Our hardscape is more functional now, since we added a back patio, an additional parking area, and dedicated areas for our recycle bins. We are conserving more water since System Pavers replaced our lawn with very natural looking artificial turf. System Pavers also installed landscape lighting that not only adds magical beauty in the evenings, but improved visibility for safety. We have received nothing but complements about our yard.
