This is my first experience with the System Pavers' team under PM…read moreAdrian O'Donoghue to 1) demo my existing wood retaining wall and patio and 2) install a masonry retaining wall with lighting, new drainage system, and pavers throughout the backyard. The overall product is wonderful! The demo work was quickly done and our house was protected as promised from any debris flying from breaking up the concrete. The new drainage system tested very well. The team took the time to ensure that the runoff and water from the downspouts flowed away from the house and connected to the front yard system. The installation of the retaining wall and paver patio, as a final product, is fantastic! The journey though had some bumps and these few items prevent a 5 out of 5 rating: 1) Interpreting the intention of the design made by the System Paver (SP) landscape designer as a few measurements for the side yard patio were unclear - Adrian and I had to make "field" calls to ensure that amount of material ordered per the quote was adequate for the installation - my expectation would have been the designer and Adrian to have had that alignment so the owner was not responsible for any over or under ordering of material, 2) the measurements of the geometric shape for our pergola landing (aka "the octagon") were in error. Adrian attempted to get clarity from the internal SP team; but, at the end, I had to provide the correct length of each leg of the octagon to ensure that the 12ft x12 ft pergola would fit within the shape and 3) coordination between the non-System Paver vendors for the pergola and electrical work ended being more of an owner-led effort. To this latter point, Adrian and I agreed, that in retrospect, it would have been more prudent that all parties should have met in person first so those three could speak about their scopes of work using trade language they are familiar with rather than going through an involved owner that doesn't know what each party needs from each other in specific terms. While I rate the overall experience as a 4 of 5 as a result of the issue noted above, working with Adrian was a very positive experience! He listened to my concerns and responded as best as he could. He was also very patient with me as I tried to clear the delays related to the pergola installation that were not in System Paver's scope to oversee. Adrian also seeks continual improvement - we had a strong rapport where we were open and free to give feedback to each other on how the project was going and what we could each do to achieve the desired outcome. Lastly, his team really did a wonderful job ensuring the jobsite was clean and tidy upon completion. He and his team reassured me that I can call on them anytime if there are any issues with their scope of work to see if warranty will apply, and if so, they will address the concern(s). The value for this project may seem initially higher compared to other paver vendors. However, the quality of the work, materials, and the return by the team already to address natural settling after initial installation already shows the value of System Pavers. Thank you, Adrian and Alex's team, for the work! ------ As a separate review for the System Paver (SP) Landscape Design service, I give the same 4 out 5 rating for Erik Oller. Our design experience was as advertised - with Erik coming out to the jobsite, listening to our concepts and then providing us a draft design to review. After some adjustments, we received a detailed quote. Erik was patient with us as we had to absorb a lot of information and he met with us virtually a few times to make sure our questions were addressed before we signed the contract. During the time we had to wait for HOA approval and after we signed the contract, we decided to add scope to the project and worked with Erik to how best we could do so. It was an easy process to add the additional scope. To begin the project, Erik came to the jobsite and met with the Adrian of SP (see review above) to discuss the design and "paint" the footprint of the retaining wall and paver patios. After this interaction to initiate the SP scope of work with Adrian, I had no further contact with Erik. Rating for the Landscape Design service would have been 5 out of 5 if Erik could have supported Adrian's field team more directly. When there were measurement questions related to the side yard footprint and challenges with the dimensions of the octagon shape, it would have been more beneficial for the SP team to have handled these issues internally. Maybe it is usual and customary for the owner to become involve with implementation of the design, but I found that to be alittle odd that I had to review design measurements and translate to Adrian on how to proceed given the design came from SP.

D Garcia Landscaping completed a large fence project for us and we are extremely happy with the…read moreresults! This was a technically challenging project involving a steep hill and very mature redwood roots. Standout qualities of this company are: 1. Ease of quoting process Before coming out in person, they were able to give us a ballpark price based on dimensions, fence type, and site images. This allowed me to decide whether to move forward and I thought this was really respectful of my time. Then, Dago, the owner, came for the site visit and to discuss details. 2. No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K. Dago's price was the lowest quote (with minute differences in material) and we are very glad we went with him!

I selected Dago's team because of his reasonable pricing and clear communication during the quoting…read moreprocess. Work needed: - major clean-up of our front and back yards - fencing between multiple neighbors - adding grass and new sprinklers to the front yard - adding turf to the rear yard - about 30+ plants to multiple areas + mulch Dago's team was very efficient in their work and always kept us updated on progress. It was amazing to watch the work get done and see the transformation over just under 2 weeks of work. I'm very impressed and recommend them to anyone looking for this type of work. I would absolutely use them again in the future. Thanks so much!
