We hired Hien to convert our front yard to low maintenance. He was responsive, provided good reccommendations, and came in the most affordable. He and his crew completed the project in 2 days. I would definitely hire him again for future projects.

NH installed the fencing around the yard.

I've used NH landscaping on multiple projects over the years and they're extremely fast, efficient and do excellent work. From installing fencing, landscaping material, yard cleanup and planting I've been very happy with the service I was provided with very fair pricing.

    Beginning of dry creek bed

Mr. Nguyen did a great job interpreting our vision and turned our once barren, brown, unwatered lawn (aka weeds) to a low maintenance front yard with a sloping dry creek bed with bee and butterfly friendly drought resistant plantings. I verified his license with the state before having him draw up an agreement. He was on time, on schedule and on budget.

Mr. Nguyen turned our weed filled front yard into a clean , low maintenance, beautiful landscape. He and his crew are very efficient. They are especially good with putting in concrete, pavement and artificial grass. Highly recommended.

    Before

Mr. Nyugen was referred to me by a dear friend and I'm so happy with the job that he and his team did! Our yard went from head shakingly sad to fabulous in just a few short weeks. He is extremely easy to work with and allowed me to participate in the process from start to finish. He executed my vision better than I could have imagined. The stamped concrete came out excellently just as I had hoped, and the stairs built from scratch are a work of art. I highly recommend Mr. Nguyen. He and his team were prompt each day, got in and got out and before I knew it, the job was done! His honesty and integrity are rare and I pray that his business flourishes in the best possible way.

Hired Mr. Nguyen and finally found someone who shows up and completes the project in a timely manner. Very happy with the end result.

Robin Everhart our designer, Ryan Travalini our project manager, Ben and his crew all executed what we wanted, turned our space from mixed of concrete, dirt and mulch into whole area paved and designed into what we dreamed of. They also accommodated some changes along the way without any issues. On the very first day, Robin designed our backyard per our vision, listened to what we wanted and took our budget into account. He was very nice and was able to revise the design multiple times to what works for us functionally and aesthetically. Ben and his crew was amazing and cleaned up thoroughly each day. Ryan our project manager was present everyday to ensure the team had what they needed and anything we wanted was addressed. He was easily reached and pleasant to interact with, checking in with us every step of the way through text and call. It has been about 2 months when our outdoor space was done and to this day, he's very responsive to our text for questions and made sure we are 100% satisfied with our pavers. And that is what we call great customer service. We love our yard. It looks absolutely stunning. We couldn't be happier.

This was a technically challenging project involving a steep hill and very mature redwood roots. Standout qualities of this company are: 1. Ease of quoting process Before coming out in person, they were able to give us a ballpark price based on dimensions, fence type, and site images. This allowed me to decide whether to move forward and I thought this was really respectful of my time. Then, Dago, the owner, came for the site visit and to discuss details. 2. No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K. Dago's price was the lowest quote (with minute differences in material) and we are very glad we went with him!

I would HIGHLY recommend using Dago Garcia's team for either regular yard maintenance, or any yard project you have in mind. Ken Truong (owner of Skywood) and his crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Ken carefully listened to my objectives during an initial site visit. I didn't have a particular design in mind, but within about 10 days Ken was able to prepare a written proposal that included 2D and 3D photos of what the finished landscape renovation might look like. This was really helpful because only few iterations of discussion and revisions were needed to complete the final proposal. Demolition of the existing backyard included removal of trees, artificial turf, patio blocks, and a considerable amount of soil. This phase was completed relatively quickly and without any problems due to Skywood's obvious experience. The next phases included installation of drainage pipes and conduits for lighting and irrigation and then covering with rock base and pavers. Skywood's efforts during these phases included an uncommonly high level of attention to detail to ensure that rainwater would flow away from the house and into the storm drains. The final phases included installation of a redwood fence, installation of rock veneer and capstone to cover a retaining wall, and installation of lights, plants and irrigation to produce a really beautiful garden. Despite several hot summer days, Ken and his crew always had a friendly, positive attitude and left the worksite clean each day. I give Skywood Landscaping my highest recommendation, and I would surely hire them in the future.

Ken suggested I look at their newer samples of artificial turf. There has been some progress in materials which are durable and cooler than the older materials from years past. I love my new lawn! Their crew even straightened out some crooked paving stones I had been meaning to fix. So kind of them. While working around my existing landscaping they protected everything. No damage anywhere. And the cleanup was perfect. Real top notch pros! Even the quote was incredibly affordable. I could not recommend anyone as high as Skywood.

We specifically enjoyed Stephen's approach because it was so "design" minded, compared to other landscaping companies that want you to have your own plan/design in mind- Stephen really takes the time to think through what you want, translate what you're looking for, and put it into a design that really works both aesthetically and functionally. By the time the warm weather came around, our hardy weeds would wear down to a brown dust on top of packed clay soil. We might have tried parking cars on the hard pack. It was a hot dusty mess. When the rain came, one day of rain could turn the hard pack into a morass of sticky gooey mud which was hard to clean off the feet, and hard to clean off the dog. Our backyard was unusable about 3/4 of the year. Finally, we had a couple of slopes in the backyard that were a challenge to know what to do with...it was not an easy place, full of work. The best thing (among many) is that Steve is knowledgeable about plants, how they respond to the weather, and where they will grow. He is also willing to work with you, listen to you, incorporate your ideas, convictions, wishes and desires for the planning of your landscape. I do believe Steve was tired of seeing our number on his caller ID when we called, but he always got back to us, answered our questions and made adjustments as he went. We were definitely heard in our wishes. LIving Earth Gardens handled our soil construction (where they turned it from clingy, muddy cement to soil that would grow stuff) They cleared brush, the planted trees, fruit trees, and put in a drip system to help us water it all. From start to finish they had the tools and know how. They also put in some stairs to make the slope navigable. You will find the whole staff energetic, positive and conscientious. We are pleased with our yard and the effort that was made to get us there.
