Definitely one of my favorite places (if not my favourite) for breakfast or brunch. Delicious food and ambiance , great service with friendly staff. Another bonus is the rewards app (local toast) ! Hats down for this place! I totally recommend it !

This place is a really solid brunch spot! It was fairly priced and the food came out unbelievably fast. Literally I think it came out in less than 10 minutes. I got an Irish coffee that was soooo good for a little boozy Sunday morning. The sandwich was just okay, the pretzel roll was like over toasted or stale? I'm not sure. But the sauce, eggs and sausage were delicious! Ended up eating with a fork! The breakfast tacos were amazing!!!! The onion-y pico at the bottom really hit! The pancake was perfect. Not gonna lie, best pancake I've had in a while. Yum. Will be back!!!

Service from Amanda, the manager, was fantastic. My pup and I appreciated her seating us in a shady spot with a water bowl. New waiter Marc was learning the finer details of the art of service, but is a quick study. Bread for French toast was chewier than expected, leading me to speculate it was less than fresh, but the coconut flavor was so scrumptious that I forgot I needed a knife to saw through the toast. Really need MORE Shaded Outdoor Seating!

Honestly a great breakfast spot. Excellent breakfast classics plus some novel takes, great service, nice vibes, and the Edgewater location is great. Will be back!

We sat outside in the sun it was perfect for a sunny day in March! Walked in on a Saturday at 10am with a party of 7 and were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and nice. Food came out insanely fast. Huevos rancheros were delicious. The breakfast potatoes were the best, seasoned perfectly and crispy yet at the same time soft. My friend and I split the carafe of lavender lemonade mimosa. Very subtle lavender taste, it was very nice. Did not taste any lemon or lemonade. Delicious though!

If you're around the Sloan's Lake area, this is a decent spot for brunch. It can get busy because everyone is trying to come here but the wait wasn't too bad. In terms of food, it was a pretty good brunch. The food was edible and the portions were nice. The beignets were a nice little appetizer with the sauce to drizzle over them. Pancakes were pretty good. Nothing was a huge standout where I'm like must come again. But overall, it's a good little brunch place where you don't have to wait over an hour for.

This is our favorite brunch spot in the Edgewater area. It's clean, the service is great, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I particularly love their chilaquiles with chorizo. They have the perfect balance of tortillas, eggs, cheese, and veggies. During my visit, they accidentally forgot to add the avocado, but the waitress was incredibly kind and offered it to me. If you're in the area, you absolutely must visit this place!

We have been here a few times and the prior visits were more friendly. When we walked it, it was like a silent movie. We approached the hostesses both acknowledged us visually without a single utter of anything. She found a table in her book and the other walked away as if we an understanding to follow him. Perplexed, we stood there until he stopped, looked at us and made some indescribable sound. Assuming he was showing us to our table, we followed. This is by no means an exaggeration of the exchange. Once we were seated things improved. I ordered the Pigs in the Blanket, which I enjoyed thoroughly. My wife ordered her typically, French Toast, on this occasion the coconut version. She also liked hers but the coconut syrup was scanty for the amount of French Toast. I really love the restaurant with its high ceilings, brightness filled by sunlight and their amazing patio. I'm hoping they improve on the service slightly, especially the hostess as that is the first person one interacts with.

The cash I'm gonna tip with cause I've heard servers like cash.

This brunch spot is pretty ok on food. Eaten at this one and a few other spots of theirs. Usually pretty ok. Walked up today, restaurant's 1/4 full. 25%. Had to wait for the last person of our party to show up. So I went to Rupert's. 50% full. Sat us while we waited for our last person. 25+ years of restaurant experience here. Never seen a host hold a rule so hard and lose a tip faster for someone in years. Cool rule Syrup. Nice training on that host. Makes sense why you're sitting at 20-25% on a Saturday Snow day and Rupert's is doubling you. Solid moves. Wonder if I'll make it back? Hmmm. I wonder. Improve your training. No Mames.

    The Garden & The Remedy

It's easy to see why Syrup is a popular place to go for breakfast. They have a wide variety of options for everyone, and there's plenty of free parking in the lot next to the public market. Their most popular dishes are the Nutella stuffed French toast and chicken and waffles, which are great for people wanting a heavy & sweet breakfast. A good compromise and sharing complement is the combo of The Garden Omelet and The Remedy Classic. The Garden Omelet can be a little dry, and felt like it could be improved by the vegetables inside being cooked a little longer or adding a sauce. The Remedy was very liquid and had extra sauce. By putting The Remedy on top of the omelette, it was a perfect breakfast. The Remedy ($15) includes diced potatoes topped with chorizo, cheddar cheese, onion, roasted red pepper, avocado, 2 eggs any style (we requested over easy but they were more over-medium), and grilled jalapeño, smothered in pork green chili. The Brooklyn Omelet ($16) sounded good, with their award winning corned beef hash, but since we already had meat in The Remedy we went with The Garden. The Garden Omelet ($14) comes with asparagus, mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, squash (I didn't see any), and feta, and you can pay extra for a side of berries instead of the tater tots.

The breakfast food was absolutely delicious. The smothered burrito and the remedy were so good. You have to get a side of the green chili!

We were not disappointed :) Ruperts has a great set up of booth, bar, table, and patio seating. They have cute little witty sayings strewn about their walls, so those are fun to find and read. Prepare yourself for a little bit of a wait if you go for brunch on the weekend. This just means Ruperts is worth the wait. Check the bar seats though, as those are first come, first serve and they serve the entire menu there as well. We lucked out and two spots were open for us so we did not have to wait for a table. The bartender who was also our server was very nice and gave some excellent recommendations. Rupert's classic reuben was a great suggestion. Add sweet potato fries, and you'll be in heaven! We also could not pass up the cinnamon roll that was so elegantly advertised in front of us! When in Sloan's Lake, Ruperts will be my choice of restaurants. As with most brunch places, Ruperts opens early in the morning - at 7am and closes early at 2:30pm.

Apparently, this is a customer favorite special that earned its place on the regular menu... but they still run out. Consider yourself warned. I only got to try a small bite, but agreed that it was an explosion of flavor and amazing if you're looking for a sweet breakfast. I enjoyed the coffee and the spicy sausages that were the centerpiece of my order. I wasn't as much of a fan of the plain biscuits and gravy that I selected for my side, but the eggs and potatoes were well done. Our waitress kept my coffee cup full and checked on us frequently. I'll definitely be back again, maybe earlier so that I can also get the French toast! (BTW, the half order was plenty of food for one person.)
