Pretty modern bar and grill atmosphere with great food and service. We tried grilled Artichoke, corn ribs, Nashville hot chicken, and JCB. All were pretty delicious

Sloan's Bar & Grill has been a neighborhood staple for 21 years, and after their recent renovation and menu refresh, they're better than ever. The fried chicken is the star -- crispy skin, juicy meat, and the biscuit with honey butter is a must. I also tried the green chile deviled eggs, French onion soup, and the berry biscuit bread pudding (which was a weekly special), and everything was delicious. Their cocktail program is great too -- the coin-style margarita with a tajín rim was excellent, and the Phony Negroni (non-alcoholic) was a fun surprise. What I really appreciate is that they kept their old favorites while adding new ones. You'll still find $2 oysters during brunch and happy hour, $1.45 wings + trivia on Wednesdays, and weekend brunch from 10am-2pm. Friendly staff, a lively atmosphere, and consistently good food -- Sloan's is one of those places you can count on for a great meal. Highly recommend the fried chicken!

Sloan's Bar & Grill is a cool relaxed space and a solid stop overall. It did feel just a little understaffed during our visit, so service was slower than expected, but the food definitely made up for it. We ordered the spicy grilled turkey and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with a side of garlic broccolini. Both were flavorful, well-cooked, and hit the spot. The kids' burgers were simple and satisfying plus they came with sundaes, which is always a win when dining with little ones. The quality of the food stood out, and we'd happily come back for a casual meal.

This is a fun spot with a big but not overwhelming menu. It's street parking, but I have always easily found a spot. The inside is comfortable and invites you to relax, just like the staff does. The food is always tastes great, no matter what you order. And they have a great bar menu. An excellent spot to stop in any time.

A Bloody Mary bar?!!?!? Yupppp! Just when you thought this place couldn't get better, they roll out a BUILD YOUR OWN Bloody Mary bar on the weekends!!! They had every ingredient you could possibly imagine: banana peppers, horseradish, peppercinis, olives, pickle juice, jalapeño juice etc. Donut holes, breakfast Samich and waffles???? A great brunch menu that really stands out in edgewater. Definitely will be back for some bloodys on a Sunday

We had a party of 8 and were very well taken care of. Service was amazing and very fast! I ordered the JCB burger and it was delicious!! Can't wait to come back. I've been thinking of that burger all week!! 10/10. Cute little spot.

Beautiful wood bar and church pew seating.

They have the prettiest bar and the coolest church pew seating. New flooring, booths and lighting are a nice addition. The new menu leaves a lot to be desired; wish they would go back to the old menu.

My girlfriend and I visited Sloan's to watch a football game and take advantage of a BOGO entree deal. Upon walking in, the first thought that popped in my mind was "wow, what a clean place!". Everything in there looked immaculate including the bathrooms which is something I definitely look out for when eating somewhere. The food and drinks were all amazing! I had the spicy reuben and wished it had a bit more spice to it but I enjoyed it overall. The fries were fresh and tasty too! We shared some oysters as well as we came in during happy hour and enjoyed them as well. My favorite was the nachos. I was super full from the reuben but had to power through because the nachos were so good. The cocktails were tasty and well-made! Donovan was our server and he definitely made our experience stand out. He was very personable and it felt like hanging out with a friend. He even stayed after his shift to watch the rest of the football game with us. Thank you, Donovan!

Amazing service- 1 server/bartender who had the whole place under control. Plenty of help around for delivering food, etc. Food was great- the fish and chips with the house made tartar was delicious along with the hot honey Mac and Cheese! Will definitely be back.

Wow this place was really a find for us! We had never been there but we will definitely be back. The service was excellent. The bar is really cool. Such a beautiful ambiance. But let me tell you the food really knocked it out of the park! I had the hot honey chicken Mac and it was AMAZING. The spice on it was perfect. My husband had the shrimp po boy and my daughter had chicken tenders. They both cleaned their plates. Very happy!

Came back tonight for the first time in a while and the experience was just okay. The DJ was killing it and my first bartender was kind and made my favorite drink perfectly. However I came back in to ask for my second drink and close out my tab and the other bartender snapped at me for some reason? Usually I just ignore that kind of thing and chalk it up to a busy night or something else going on before I got there that could've been affecting them. It did feel a little personal when she aggressively threw the ingredients into my drink and then threw my check down and walked away. I'm still not sure why this happened. I haven't been doing great lately and thought coming to one of my old favorite spots would be a good pick me up but that wasn't the case tonight. Hopefully, if I come back here sometime in the future, I'll have a better experience but I think I'm going to stick to other places for a while. I'd still recommend Lot 46 as a decent place to check out if you're new in the Edgewater area.

It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

So, with no check-ins, I never received a "write a review" reminder. One of those oddities of life I guess. This place slaps. I only learned that phrase in the last two years, so it still feels odd to say. For those unhip, unaware, or older than me folks, "Slap" is a slang verb meaning "to be excellent or amazing." I guess, this is the new amazeballs, which I actually once enjoyed using as a descriptor. Barfly (yes, as I type it, I keep hearing "Barf-Lee", which is less than appetizing), is great. This is the lounge/big bar/small stage/event area just to the left as you walk in to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Sloans Lake. Which is my favorite place to see films. If you do not like Alamo Drafthouse, you are probably one of those terrible human beings who enjoy talking and texting during films. Which if you did not know, may be fine for your living room, but is trash behavior in a movie theatre. Feel free to fight me on this. Barfly has comedy. It has game show night. It hosts groups showing horror films. It has live music. It has trivia. It has drag queen bingo (hmmm, why is there no "drag queen trivia"?). It has a full bar with solid beer offerings. It has the entire Alamo theatre menu available. It has hard working staff members (Rae and Sam are extra awesome). It has varied seating (stools, chairs -- both high & low, leather armchairs and couches). It has big televisions. It . . . it . . . it . . . slaps.

Roger's Bar made some very good (and decently strong) drinks, and I particularly enjoyed their signature cocktail "The Elemental Thing," which was delightfully fruity and tropical. Prices were a little steep ($13 for a vodka lemonade is a little high IMO) but I think it makes sense for this location. Seating is abundant and varied-- there are couches, standard tables, and high tables with bar stools. The dimmer bar section is more pleasant in my opinion because it feels less like a food court. I ended up ordering a calzone from Sloan's, which came fast and tasted great. My other go-to is the Ethiopian spot-- amazing veggie options and some of the only Ethiopian to be had in the Denver suburbs (from what I can tell). All-around, this is a great place for an easy meal.

The manager stopped by to apologize saying they were very busy, however that didn't explain the sequence of when we received our orders compared to those in the same section. The food was pretty good overall even though my steak and sides were lukewarm by the time I got them. My family didn't have the same issue. We didn't complain about the temp due to not wanting to take even more time. We did express our concerns and they offered 25% off the entrees but that was only about $26 off the total tab for drinks, appetizer, and 4 entrees. It is a cute restaurant so I am disappointed that the service was not that great and the fact that we brought my mother in law here while she was in town expecting a positive experience. We will not be returning or recommending this place to friends and family and hope that they are able to make improvements.
