And the story goes like this....I got rear ended in my car by an SUV and the rear bumper was not too much damaged but damaged enough to be replaced by a new one i/o touching up, I reported this to my Infinity Insurance and they appointed me their local body shop where they decided just to touch up the bumper i/o replacing it, I thought that was wrong so I went to Symes Collision Center and Silvia called on my behalf to Infinity Insurance and asked for a second opinion and voila, my bumper got replaced by a new one and my car looks like new again, thank you Sylvia and Joe, I will send customers to you !!!! read more

im outraged!!!!!!!! i decided to take my car here for repair because the usual body shop i go to was filled to capacity. when i initially called symes, the receptionist sylvia was very friendly and helpful. but after that... downhill! 1. never ever ever received an update call! i was the one following up with her! and i'm the customer! ridiculous! 2. delayed on promised time! 3. horrible horrible customer service! i literally cannot believe. at a loss for words joe, the owner of symes collision center, even worse. never once directly apologized to me and kept saying it was a miscommunication when he didn't even let me finish my story. be quiet and stop interrupting me and listen! im the paying customer here! there should be no no no excuse on customer service! we are the reason why you guys are still in business! never ever everrrrr take your car here unless you want high blood pressure from their horrible service! have not picked up my car yet, but it better be in impeccable condition! read more

Hello again, my FELLOW CONSUMERS & READERS!!! Its been quite awhile since I posted my personal review, so that you all, can be entertained by my reports, weather they be funny, useful, helpful, sincere and true. Let me get started with my review of SYMES COLLISION CENTER. It all began, on September 28, 2015, Monday night in the small town of Glendora between the hour of 7-7:30pm on Comstock Street. I had driven my GOOD LITTLE 2006 TOYOTA PRIUS to a home to drop off a condolence card in the mailbox, for the family of a nice man that I cared for as his part time caregiver. He passed away on 9/11 at 8:20pm. After I placed the card into his mailbox attached to the wall, I stepped down on level ground, faced his home said a prayer to him and GOD, because I had missed the celebration of his life the Friday before, because I ended up in the hospital and could not attend. I was released from the confines of the hospital on that Saturday afternoon at 3pm, and it took me 4 hours to get home that night by public transportation, because I couldn't get a taxi voucher from the hospital, which was in West Los Angeles, and 26 miles away from my abode called my apartment/pad in San Gabriel. I'm now ready to leave the home and head back to my place. Driving on to the driveway of the homes that I was visiting, it was a cinch. No problem when you're driving forward. I got back into my car, started it, put it in reverse and began to back out slowly. Instead of turning my wheel to back out in a small curve, and then straight out to the street, I backed out straight. I BUMPED MY CARS REAR END into something hard. (get your minds out of the gutter). I got startled and wondered what in the heck I bumped into. I pulled forward, put the car in park with the foot break engaged, and exited the car. When I looked back towards the street, which was very dark, I saw what I hit. It was a TALL OLD ASS PALM TREE which was probably as old as the house. I walked to check the back of my car and got a shock. The right corner of my bumper had a nice dent in it as well as the right lower portion was detached and hanging. Remember that movie called SPEED 2: CRUISE CONTROL in 1997, staring SANDRA BULLOCK & JASON PATRIC? It was an action film about a cruise ship that was on a collision course with an oil tanker after being hi-jacked. Instead of hitting the tanker in the water, it crashed into the port town until it stopped. There was a little red sports car parked on the dock next to the ship. A piece of the ship falls off and crashes onto that little car destroying it. The owner of that car spoke out 3 words. They were, " OH MY CAR !!!" Well, when I saw my car, I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING!!! All I can say is thank goodness for modern technology. I had my cell phone and took pictures of my car, the dark street, and the palm tree. At 7:45pm I headed over to Toyota of Pasadena. Got there by 8:15pm. The service department was closed but the showroom was still open and doing business. I walked into the business, told them what happened to my car, and they directed me to SYMES COLLISION CENTER and was told where they were located. I knew where they were located because I have a 94 Cadillac Sedan Deville, and SYMES CADILLAC is next door across the street on the same side of the collision center. The next morning I called Symes Collision Center and asked a few questions. I spoke on the phone with SYLVIA and she was VERY HELPFULL. I arrived at their location and met her brother JOE. I walked inside and Sylvia and I went to look at my car. We entered the shop and she gave me an estimate. I thought that it would be easily over a GRAND to fix. It was UNDER A GRAND by TWO DOLLARS. (laughing out loud)! Sylvia took care of everything and was VERY INFORMATIVE about the procedures and what to expect after I bring in the car to be repaired. She talked me out of getting a RENTAL CAR and also convinced me NOT TO GO THROUGH MY STATE FARM INSURANCE. BEST ADVICE!!! She saved me from getting into a lot of headaches and paperwork, not to mention that hitting a tree would go on my record as a careless driver. Like the LIBERTY INSURANCE COMMERCIAL GIRL SAYS, " NEWS FLASH - NOBODY'S PERFECT!!!!" This past Thursday I took the car in by 2pm. All the parts were ordered, delivered, and ready to be placed on the car. It took about an hour and a half. While I was waiting, I got hungry and walked next door to a MEXICAN RESTAURANT and ate a HUGE BURRITO with EVERYTHING ON IT!!! It was "MUY DELISIOSO!!!" I walked back to the shop and the car was ready. I was VERY HAPPY with their service, knowledge, and recommend them to anyone that needs repair on their own vehicles. I'M HAPPY AND SO IS MY CAR!!! I was distressed after the accident and didn't have a phone. Joe called my insurance company for me and helped me work through the process of getting my vehicle repaired. The estimates were good and they are a AAA approved repair shop. He provided me with updates and made sure that everything was done perfectly. My Escalade looks like the accident never happened. Couldn't give this place more stars. In febuary i was in a minor accident that dented my fender and broke my mirror. Went to Joe after visiting the toyota dealership in pasadena and got told they don't do bodywork and was blown away! He gave me a great deal by finding me a mirror that was less than half price! Was able to fix my dent and even buffed a few scratches (from the accident and otherwise lol) for free! Our car had a run in with a shopping cart, the shopping cart won, so we called our car dealership to see who they recommend for body work and they recommended Symes. We took the car for an estimate, which they gave us, called the insurance of the person who did not pay attention to their shopping cart, and finally got the okay to have the work done on the car. It took less than two weeks, and the car looks like new. They are friendly and put you at ease about what is happening to the car. I had bumper and side panel damage done to my car and was very distraught. I took my car into the Symes Collision Center at the recommendation of a friend. Jojo, at the center assured me he would take care of my car in a timely manner. I have never had to have body work done to my car so I was a bit nervous. When I dropped off my car the receptionist was vey helpful and made me feel at ease. She made sure that the car rental concierge was there to drive me to pick up my rental car. I've never been to Symes Collision Center before my vehicle was damaged through no fault of my own. From the very first time I met the owner Joe, he treated me like family. He (personally) towed my vehicle in, when he could have easily sent an employee to do it. His staff, Sylvia and Desiree were very kind, courteous, and helpful through my entire challenge. They were quick, efficient and always answered every one of my phone calls and every question I had (big or small). They went above and beyond to give me valuable wisdom. They genuinely cared about my future transportation needs. They never made me feel bad for not knowing the proper steps to take, or the direction in which to go. After a collision damage to the front end and steering of my Toyota, I went here, largely due to the fact that they are the preferred body shop of Symes Toyota of Pasadena, I believe owned by the same people. They also said the car would be checked enginewise and functionally by the Toyota dealer mechanics. There was actually little body damage but mostly the steering linkage was broken as one of the wheels actually took the brunt of the impact. Firstly, the people there were helpful and friendly. But the work dragged on. It took about 6 weeks. I'm not sure why so long but that's a long time to be without a car. I really fail to see how it would take any more than 3 weeks accounting for slight delays getting parts and setting a review or two with the insurance adjuster. Then I got the car back, took a test drive. It looked immaculate and it had been washed. They said the mechanics at the dealer had pronounced it perfectly fine and had used all new Toyota brand parts. Great right? Then the trouble started. About 3-4 weeks after getting the car back, we noticed a knocking noise going over bumps. The noise came from the front wheel area that had been repaired. I took it back and they said a large nut securing the top of the shock absorber had come loose. They tightened it in about 20 minutes, no charge, as you would expect. Well that was not the only nut they had failed to tighten. My wife drives the car mostly and she did not notice, but some weeks later I drove it and noticed the steering not being quite right. The car pulled slightly to one side. This got worse and I also thought there was a very slight odd noise or hum coming from the front tires. And the steering wheel was pointing to one side a bit while driving a straight line. So I checked the tires and noticed the inside edges of both front tires were wearing (where it's hard to see). I decided to take it to Island Tire where I had replaced and aligned the tires about 2 years ago. I like that tire shop, and decided in effect to get a second opinion and full going over by a separate mechanic I trusted. They reported that some kind of tie rod on the front end was loose and so the alignment was bad. Both worn front tires had to be replaced, again newish tires with less than 10,000 miles on them. I believe it's self evident that Symes had failed to tighten this alignment nut to torque spec, directly causing this problem. With more wear the tires could have easily blown out had we not gotten them checked out quickly. I will not go back to Symes as, well, if you can't tighten a simple nut to spec what kind of mechanic are you? Pretty basic stuff. read more

Had a huge door ding on the drivers side and a big scrape on the rear bumper (including a broken tail light). Took my car to Symes Collision Center and they color matched the paint perfectly. I brought my car to Symes Collision Center to repair the front bumper after having been in an accident. The other driver's insurance company had recccommeded that I use one of their preferred body repair shops, but I had read reviews of poor quality of work from that shop. I researched online and found Symes. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and Silvie walked me through the process clearly and efficiently. The car was ready one day earlier than projected, and the bumper was a perfect match. My car is 10+ years old and I had concerns about paint matching of the new bumper with the potentially faded rest of the car. Not only was the color a perfect match and the quality of work high, the car was fully detailed. My front headlights were even polished (I was told by another mechanic to buy new ones previously), while they now look brand new. Ultimately, the car came back looking the best it ever has - thank you Symes! I would not hesitate to return in the future. read more

I have taken my LR here a couple of times for custom paint and body kit work. Every time I had an excellent experience. The guys here definitely know what they're doing. For the high quality of work they do the price is fairly reasonable. my car was delivered on time every time I was promised. the owner Joe is so nice, he personally and his guys installed custom aftermarket parts for me with no charge. When the owner of the shop is a car enthusiastic, you know your car is in good hands when you send it there. Attention to detail is what Joe and his crew are all about. They always aim for perfection when it comes to the paint job and installation. Every staff treated me kindly. They really know how to take care of customers cars!
