About 25 minutes later our delivery driver (grub hub) actually texted me letting me know they were out of banana shakes, and if I wanted to replace with a smoothie. No biggie, then driver again texted w/eta and letting me know they refunded me for my breakfast bagel and that he would arrive with my food in 5 min. Really? The food delivery driver was the one letting me know instead of the actual restaurant? They could have told me as soon as they received my order that they were out of bagels so I could order a different option for my family member. Upon arrival of my order I then noticed my detox juice was also missing! I called the restaurant and the girl that answered just said " o yeah we are refunding you for the juice too". So, one of my family members didn't get food, so we shared and I didn't get my drink. Terrible communication on the restaurant's behalf. They could have let me pick a replacement sandwich and drink instead of just refunding literally right before my food got delivered. There are very few places in San Fernando to get really good food, and fewer still if health consciousness is a factor. For 8 years now, I have ordered periodically from Sylmars Fix. Over the course of the past year which has seen my work shift to remote, I have occasionally found myself lacking in time or resources to prepare lunch, and have leaned on this place for healthy options and quick turn around. My go to the last 5 months has been the Arugula Salad with Chicken. In the attached photo, you will see on the left what it looked like the first time I ordered it on February 6th. I don't always take pics of my food, but was really impressed with the look of this salad, and snapped a pic for my Wife, as it seemed like something she would enjoy. Since then, over these past 20 weeks have ordered this salad 10 times. There have been occasional consistency issues, but nothing major. Then came today. I opened the bag to see the normally flavorful and beautiful piece of grilled chicken was missing, and in its place, a sliced BREADED processed previously frozen chicken patty that frankly looked more like a slice of bread than anything actually resembling chicken, and a tiny little dollop already browning avocado. How the F--- dare you! If you are out of an ingredient, call the customer and let them know. Do not go to Food For Less and pick up some sub par substitute and try to pass it off like I'd never notice. This salad is $14 before tax, which when properly prepared is still a little on the pricey side, but what I was given today would have been overpriced at 50% off. I had to remove the nasty 'might have been chicken at some point' and the sad avocado and basically had a bowl of arugula and shaved parm. For $14 I suppose this will encourage me to stop spending my money on take-away. This has just lost you a long term customer. Caveat Emptor read more

I would usually enjoy eating at this hidden gem however I regret to say that I won't be coming back. I received pasta with spoiled cheese that smelled incredibly strong and spoiled. A usual dish I order. I also received a smoothie that tasted like it had been made with spoiled yogurt. Another smoothie I usually ordered frequently. I had been very understanding with the situation because they were extremely busy at the time and they were giving me glares and attitude and had even announced that there was 'nothing wrong with the smoothie or pasta' and that I just 'didn't like the flavor' which was ironic considering those were usual items for me. Nonetheless I am utterly disappointed at the customer service and quality of the products. To be scrutinized by the entire staff that is 3x my age is unacceptable!!! read more

Definitely a great sandwich shop. Located in a nondescript rear back lower level of the Sylmar Square shopping center. You would never know it was here unless someone told you about it, you stumbled upon it or you found it while searching through Yelp. I've eaten here probably 5-6 times but never posted about it. All the sandwiches have been delicious. It's been a little while since I ate here last so I'm not recalling what my previous sandwiches were but today I shared a Chicken Cilantro panini and a arugula house salad with avocado and parmesan cheese. The sandwich had a nice crunch with tons of flavor. I've noticed that the prices have gone up since my last visit. The sandwiches use to be $5.95 now they are $9.50. That's a bit excessive. The price is more than it should based on location, it is Sylmar not Montrose or Pasadena but the shopping center has been going through major renovation so it's possible that their rents increased? Don't have a answer, but for the price, they need to fix up their interior. read more

Hot day in San Fernando and I was craving something light and refreshing. Found Sylmars Fix on Yelp and dropped in. It's a little hidden and in the back of a strip mall. Plenty of parking. The inside is small and can fill up fast and boy did it. I had the Tuscany salad with chicken. It was so tasty. Packed with veggies, avocado and perfectly grilled chicken. It was a pretty big portion but it was so good I couldn't stop eating it. Staff is very friendly. They also sell smoothies and I probably would have gotten one but the place doesn't have bathrooms. Their located in a shopping strip mall area off of Foothill blvd. and they have tons of parking. All the workers were masked up and they did have signs posted about all customers being masked up as well. My hubby and I decided to share the chicken dijon panini and our son went with the chicken wrap, hold the AVO (who's kid is this?!). Poor customer service, I ordered 3 paninis. I usually check my order before going home but I've never had an issue. I get home to only two paninis and my daughters panini is missing, I called and the woman didn't apologize for their mistake and she said well you can pick up or give you store credit and I told her I would go pick it up. I was kind, but I didn't get the same energy returned. Once I arrived she told me it will come up rn, so I waited once it was ready she handed it to me, again she didn't acknowledge the mistake on their behalf, and I still kindly said "Thank You " when she handed me the order she just turned away. Which to me felt very rude. I had to drive back just to go get my sandwich for my daughter and that's the kind of customer service she gave me ? I would say that wasn't very kind on her end. I found Sylmars Fix while being in the area for my vaccine, and I'm so happy Yelp brought me to this amazing hole in the wall! There was a line for food, which led me to believe that it's a local favorite! I placed our order over the phone, and the food was ready in 15 minutes. We got the chicken pesto panini, a tuna melt, a Nutella croissant, and two big chills (their guava smoothie). Everything was delicious and I even craved it when it was time for my second shot! Definitely give this place a shot! It's in an unassuming plaza, but it's definitely a local gem. They also practice safe social distancing and do not allow parties from different households to share tables outside. I've been to Sylmar's Fix a handful of times while a family member worked near the area, but haven't gotten to stop by there over the past decade or so. I was THRILLED to be able to go there on Memorial Day for some paninis. I ordered The Fix ($9.50), a ciabatta panini with smoked turkey, roma tomato, mozzarella cheese, avocado, and arugula, and sub chipotle aioli for pesto. And let me tell you, its the most elite panini ever. Not the same. I'm a little disappointed with Sylmar's Fix. The shredded chicken tastes old. You know the taste when the chicken when chicken is a day or two old. Has that refrigerator taste. I ordered sandwiches, a salad, a smoothie, and a fresh juice. The sandwiches were great as usual. My salad was missing the olive oil but otherwise it was good. My daughter's smoothie was amazing according to her, but my juice tasted like it was juiced a few days ago. It was supposed to have pineapple but I didn't taste pineapple at all and it tasted like old celery juice. My stomach began to hurt shortly after the first few sips. On April 1,2023 at 1:53 pm my husband called to place an order and Leila answered him, she took down his order but gave him a horrible attitude like he was dumb. My husband asked if she could explain what the half and half panini special was and she gave him horrible attitude making him feel as she was rushed and annoyed of him. I later called back and asked for her name and I told her I wanted to cancel the order because she was very disrespectful with my husband and I didn't appreciate it and she just said " ok is that all" . Ugh! I kept seeing them on yelp. Things looked good. So, I ordered the Pesto Chicken Panini. I'm hugely lactose intolerant, sadly, like a really bad time. I specifically ordered no cheese. I get my sandwhich back home and take 2 bites. I observe a funky taste and texture in the sandwhich. I open it up. It appears that mayo is mixed in with the Pesto. I called them back. The nice girl confirms Pesto is irresponsibly mixed with mayo. I have so many feelings, so much disgust, so much deceit about this: 1. Why isn't mayo a fucking ingredient on the menu!? Hello! It's separate to pesto! 2. Real Pesto does not have wretched mayo in it! 3. Who's gonna call the plumber when this toilet backs up?! 4. Where do I get my money back?! 5. I've come here 4 or 5 times now and was very satisfied with my food... but today was NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!! My panini was cold and there were like 3 grill marks on it. Wanted a little something sweet near home and remembered that this place has a nutella w/ banana and strawberry croissant panini (wow, is that a mouthful or what? No pun intended.) Arrived around lunch time with plenty of parking and ordered my nutella thing to go. Lots of families and couples grabbing a bite to eat. Seems like the thing to get here is "the fix" or "the works" as I heard that being ordered numerous times as I waited. Cashier lady (who I assume is the owner or family of owner) was great and let me know my panini would be up shortly. She also had good rapport with the kitchen staff which was nice to see. I usually really like this place. The meat and produce are always fresh. I typically order the half sandwich/half salad for lunch and a bag of chips. But each time I order it gets worse and worse.
