Had a great experience at Myke's Cafe this morning. I ordered the chorizo plate, and my daughter had the kids' French toast. She loved it so much that we ended up ordering a second plate of the regular French toast. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. The ambiance was calm, the aesthetics were beautiful, and I especially enjoyed the outdoor patio. Random, but the women's restroom was stunning. I personally hate using public restrooms because they're usually the forgotten space and not very well kept. That definitely wasn't the case here -- it was absolutely beautiful and thoughtfully designed. read more

I have been to this restaurant a handful of times, and it's always been a great experience, but today was bizarre. As always, the food was great, portions are generous, the restaurant was busy and our server was nice. My friend and I came in for breakfast, ordered our entrees and both ordered iced tea. The cups our beverages were brought in, were plastic to go cups, but I was like okay whatever, maybe the kitchen is busy and they didn't have time to clean the glasses. My friend asked for a refill, and I don't remember if she was brought over an entirely new drink or if the server took her plastic cup away, and refilled it. About five minutes later when I asked for a refill, we were then notified that they charge for refills. So, the first time we were charged for a refill without being notified, and then when I asked for a refill we were then told of this "refill" charge, which is basically the cost of an entirely new drink. I declined the "refill." So, for 3-20 oz black iced teas we were charged $12.75. I understand that prices are going up, and restaurants may charge for refills, but the way this was handled was off putting and kind of gross. AND THEN, there is something on the receipt called "cash discount", but it is actually an additional line item charge (I paid w/my Visa cc). read more

Tried this spot for the first time after seeing it pop up on Instagram and figured I'd give it a shot while I was in town. I ordered the chilaquiles at $16.75, which only come with ONE scrambled egg... and if you want any protein, it's an extra $4. Honestly, the portion was underwhelming. The egg was barely noticeable, and the meat serving was really small for the price. The biggest letdown though was the texture. The chips were way too soggy, which kind of ruined the whole dish. Every time I've come to Myke's I'm almost always seated right away. This is my mom and I's favorite brunch spot to eat near us. Their menu is full of different dishes with fun names. My favorite pancakes here are the Forshizzle Strawbizzle stack, they come with a graham cracker topping, fresh strawberries, and a drizzle of condensed milk. Their pancakes are delicious and so moist. It's almost as if they add lechera to the mix, when they are served they are nice and warm, in my opinion you don't even need syrup! The breakfast Torta is my fav savory item on the menu. It has the perfect amount of chipotle mayo, with crispy bacon, and perfect runny eggs. I love coming here and will continue to. read more

I will not be going back to Myke's Cafe. Wait is not worth it. They were taking in friends and family first not honoring the wait list. When I signed in wait list said 1-11 mins wait. I ended up waiting 40 minutes. I had to go talk to them and ask how much longer which they said your next in line, and even after that I still waited like 10 more minutes for them to call us in. While waiting I see they took in 4 different groups before me. Mind you the wait list showed me as second one in line. Food was ok, nothing worth me waiting 40 minutes in line for. I would rate my breakfast burrito a 5/10. Burrito was bland we had to ask for some salsa to try giving it a bit of flavor. Waffle 4/10. Restaurant was cute with its Barbie theme. Been coming here for years but it's always a gamble. Some days are good, others not so much. Today in particular I ordered over the phone & when I arrived, I stood at the front desk for at least 5 minutes, staff walked past me several times & not a single "hello" or "can I help you" until I spoke up and called them out. Myke's is a local diner located in the heart of the rough area of Pacoima. Parking is often hard to come by here. Because its a local gem , I wanted to like it so much more than I actually did. Sadly, the customer service here leaves a lot to be desired. Servers are bothered when you ask them questions and there doesn't seem to be a consistent customization policy. Asking for a change in your meal and being told yes with your server and then being told "we don't do that" by the person who brings your food is frustrating. Even when we told the person whp delivered our food what our server had promised- she said "Oh well." and walked away. We asked for no beans btw...when we finally saw our server again, we told her and she just said, "Oh.". That was all. No offer to correct or clarify. Just...oh and went to the next table. Firstly, the food is great here, I usually get the red velvet pancakes. I haven't been here in yearrrss because I had a bad experience, which seems to be a bit reoccurring. Years ago I came with my mom and we got our drinks and have ordered our food, we wait and wait and wait until I notice everyone else around us (who arrived after us) had gotten their food and we hadn't. I mentioned to the staff and it still took another 20 minutes to get. Visited last week with my family and the food all came out at different times. While most of us got our food and finished it we still had two people in our group who hadn't even gotten their food. Had to mention it to the server twice. Love the food but how they serve the food is not it if they would fix that it would make it worth coming here Parking is also horrible :( read more

I used to come here years ago before I moved away, and I'm so happy to say it's still just as amazing -- if not better! I've been back twice in the last month and OMG, the food is so good!! Every dish I've tried has been delicious, and their menu is packed with great options, so there's something for everyone. The drinks are just as impressive -- perfectly made and full of flavor. On top of that, the customer service is fantastic. The staff is friendly, attentive, and really makes you feel welcome. The ambiance is such a vibe too! I've been going here for a few years now. Usually I come with my sister and it's always a blast. I always get the chilaquiles de mole and OMG FIREEEE but this time I got the chorizo burrito and it was yummy! I also got a side of french toast to share and that was DELICIOUS! Their drinks are to die for. The owner is very clever and unique with his blend of drinks and all are delicious. He is usually there and comes says hi and just provides that genuine hospitality. I used to love the food and highly recommended them but the food recently was ok-ish, unfortunately they keep raising their prices. $16.00 for mid pancakes is pretty steep considering you get no sides with it. My first time at Mykes where at times the line outside is very long. I was pleased to be seated immediately. The pictures on the wall got my attention it was filed with several of my favorites. I ordered the chorizo burrito with red & green salsa and a cup of coffee. It was delicious. I preferred the green salsa. The Bathroom is hidden behind a MARVELOUS door. And the inside reminded me of a 1950's hotel, beautiful and clean. There's also a patio. I see why there are long lines. Only downfall, the server did not come to check on me. Where to even begin..since the homemade menudo was added, I lightly pushed away my favorite raspberry lemon curd pancakes (I say lightly while still having instead a kids size- it's just too delish to pass up when there). But there are so many "must try" dishes/ check out their names too ALL the drinks are so methodically created - they are perfection in both flavor and presentation. Visited this café a couple days ago and to my suprise it was a pleasant experience. Its a hole in the wall, in the city of Pacoima. The interior of the café is well decorated, organized, and clean. The service is superb! As soon as we entered we were cheefully greeted by some of the women/servers there. We were told to sit wherever we liked. That to me is the equivalent to making one feel like at home. We decided to stay inside cause it was cooler as appose to sitting in the back patio. The food is great also. We got green chilaquiles, comes with black beand and mexican rice. The chilaquiles were on the spicy side. I like spicy food and really thought these were spicier/extra hot. Lol My wife came across this café on tik tok so it was her idea to come try it out. We were there on a weekday at 10ish am and had no trouble waiting or w parking. The atmosphere is super chill! Great service, good food, they have a variety of hot and cold drinks. Parking is on the street. Definitely a place to check out. I did feel like their prices are a bit high, but nowadays what isn't. We've been coming to Myke's for years and even visited their Sherman Oaks location when they were opened. Unfortunately the food quality has declined and the service was not good. My parents and I ordered iced coffees and we each got our own entree. The menudo came out without the soup so dry, we asked and our waitress Maira said that's how they make it which I don't think is correct. My machaca was so bland and the beans were bad and had a slimy texture. My husbands chilaquiles were subpar with them being super soggy! They also add a charge for paying with card which is understandable but when I asked our waitress what the charge was she couldn't explain it to me. I'm so disappointed and will not be back. I always had a great experience at Mykes, I should have known when the place was half empty when before you had to wait for a table to open up. read more

I noticed our waitress was attending tables outside and inside and she might have forgotten tables she had inside as well. Maybe management needs to work on managing where their waitresses aren't working all over the place and get overwhelmed with the customers need to attend to. What a HIDDEN GEM! It is located on a busy street, but you can still find street parking. We got seated right away for a Sunday morning. Interior space looked and felt very homey. The workers were very welcoming and overall, had great personalities as well. We had the best server! :) I highly suggest sitting in the patio, especially if it's a nice day! You won't regret it! There are also many photos ops back there.
