They have good food a bit pricy I did pay $9 for one chile relleno no sides but it was good. I do like the food they have its typical Salvadoran Central American type of cuisine. They have real good pastries and they are known for the Pastel de milhojas ( pastry dough layered type of cake with fruit and cream filling). Shoutout to Bruce R. for the recommendation at our last Yelp event! My girlfriend and I finally were able to head over and visit El Milagro Bakery the other day. As I waited for her to arrive from work on a blistering hot afternoon, I parked outside and watched a continuous flow of people coming in and out of the doors, taking lots of homemade goodies with them. Once my girl arrived, we walked inside and got a sense of what people were experiencing. A small establishment, with about a half dozen counter seats, you are immediately in front of a several large glass doors of fresh Mexican pastry, with several other fresh racks waiting to be stored. There are so many options to choose from, with prices ranging from 50 cents to $1.50. We decided to first order what we came for, which was the Carne Asada Torta. We spoke with the friendly gentleman at the counter who walked us through what was on the sandwiches, as well as how to grab some tongs and a plastic tray to snag some delicious treats for after lunch. While waiting for our sandwiches, my girlfriend and I grabbed several pastries and cookies for dessert. The restaurant was buzzing non-stop this Friday afternoon, with people of all ages coming in to load up on goodies for the day, and possibly the weekend. Within 10 minutes, our sandwiches were brought out to us. They looked amazing! I decided to keep all of the ingredients in tact: Carne Asada, Beans, Chili, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayonnaise, Avocado, Cheese. The bread was delicious: soft, fresh and a perfect vehicle to hold in all of the delicious ingredients. The asada is the star here. Absolutely tender, seasoned to perfection. The cheese is also top notch, with the other ingredients adding tons of flavor in each packed bite. Priced at just under $10 each, there aren't many options that compare in taste and value around. As for the pastries, my girlfriend and I shared a few cookies and pan dulce shortbreads in the car. Freshly baked, crumbling to the touch, these goodies were delicious and simple. Not too sweet, and great versions of traditional Mexican delights. The energy at this Sylmar restaurant is fast-paced, friendly and outstandingly delicious. Parking is good as there are several spots available in this strip-mall layout. No bathrooms as it is primarily a grab-and-go establishment. I'll be back to see what other affordable, homemade pastries are available to complement the next time I am craving a Carne Asada Torta from El Milagro. Check them out! read more

Stopped by El Milagro Bakery for a quick bite this morning. The bakery and restaurant was super busy on a Friday morning. Service was quick and friendly. Limited seating inside. Parking was relatively easy to find in the plaza. I ordered the guateque with Al pastor and grabbed a few of their fresh pan dulce. The sandwich itself was delicious, it had a smear of beans, pickle jalapeños, and a slab of cheese on top of their Al pastor. Bonus - the bread was super soft and fresh. I placed a special order for my mother-in-law's funeral service of a variety of 160 pieces of mini- pan dulces, and they had everything ready perfectly and right on time when I went to pick up at 8:00 am. I was visiting my mom and she asked me to take her to her favorite bakery. They have a variety of freshly baked bread, desserts, and Mexican fast food. There are also two small fridges--one with soft drinks and the other with pastries. When you first enter, you grab a tray and tongs to collect the bread. I like that they offer mini Mexican bread because sometimes you don't want to eat a large piece of bread. Despite being quite busy and small, they manage to make it work. If you do not speak Spanish, good luck ordering over the phone. This review is only for the Sylmar location. I called on Thursday to place an order for Saturday. The girl on the phone said each mini concha is $0.50 and can call on Friday and pay with credit card. So, I called on Friday. I was passed around on the phone because they were unable to speak to me in English. Finally I spoke with a super rude man who spoke English. He quoted me $0.60 for each concha. I asked if the price increased overnight. He said the girl on the phone doesn't know the prices. Then why is she quoting prices??? Then he gave the phone to a lady to take my credit card. This woman had such a language barrier that she could not get the numbers I was giving her. Finally, they told me to just pay when I pick up. This is a neighborhood Mexican secret where I can get mini conchas and other mini sized sweet bread. They make pineapple elotitos, and mini empanadas de piña and crema. I ordered my mini bolillos for Christmas dinner today and since I was hungry I ordered a milanesa torta. The torta was filled with so much avacado, without an additional charge, beans and cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Sorry I didn't take a picture but it was very good. Once home, my family attacked the sweet bread and loved it too. Great place to order minis, but you have to come in and pay for them no phone orders. Old school all the way. There is an extra fee for using credit so bring cash. Great service and super busy. It's super old school so if you're looking for fancy it's not! I had this pound cake and fruit cake like slice of bread and it was unforgettable. So moist so fresh. It had raisins and nuts and was perfectly sweet. My coworker even said this pastry tastes identical to a traditional Costa Rican bread (I forget the name and don't want to butcher it). I usually have to drive to Anaheim for a small mom and pop bakery. Not anymore :) the service is quite fast, tiny place, line is out the door because of it. Their bolillos are a go to as well. Especially if you're making menudo or a torta :) parking sucks in this location too, a portion is a bit awkward where cars should be able to fit but don't.
