I have been on a panini kick the entire new year and again today I said to myself I need to have a panini. I went on yelp and did a panini search and Sylmar's fix came up. I'm so glad it came up in the search because I've driven past this location so many times and never noticed it! Sylmar's fix is located on a corner where there is a large sign for the Mercado Neighborhood Market on the building. Parking can be really busy in this area and you may have to have a short walk, but I got lucky the sidewalk was empty right next to the store. I would only have to say that the street and sidewalk are pretty dirty with litter so just watch your step. I ordered the Color Me Green Juice and the Chicken Pesto Panini for myself, and the Penne Alfredo Pasta for a friend and took them to go. My Chicken Pesto Panini tasted amazing! The chicken is chopped up into smaller pieces which allows the sauce to be all over inside the sandwich so you get an equal amount of sauce and chicken with every bite. I love the bread it's crunchy but easy to bite into and this sandwich was VERY fulfilling! The Color Me Green Juice is very delicious, freshly made and all I did when I got home was add some ice to make it colder. I was lucky my friend let me have some of the Penne Alfredo Pasta because WOW, that is the creamiest Alfredo pasta I've ever had! That was so warm and tasty! The only problem with this place is that it's on my driving route many days of the week so they might be seeing a whole lot more of me there in the future!!!!! read more

Great value for the food! Could have def shared the panini. I got the pesto chicken panini and berry blast smoothie. Both really hit the spot. Tbh it was confusing finding this place. It is inside a market located at the corner of the intersection. Parking is difficult :( but the market is quite impressive. Its small but mighty! Has a great selection of meat, cheese and produce. The produce looked like really great quality and that is actually what convinced me to feel confident enough to try this place! First you walk in and go towards the right corner after the produce. There is a small booth where you order and then they tell you to pay at the cashier in front. After you pay, you trade your receipt copy for your food. Super easy but confusing for first time. The sandwiches hit everytime. Love the chicken pesto and the works. The service is fairly quick but i Like to call in and order ahead. Its inside a little corner store so a pick up and go spot not a restaurant . First off, this little stand is inside the market and parking is in the back where recycling is also going on...useful info lol. Sandwiches are actually pretty amazing! I've only been here twice and ordered for myself, my husband and my mom and they were all amazing! I loved every sandwich we've had so far. I've tried the Caprese, the Works, the Lotto, chicken pesto and also tried a couple of smoothies and all were so good and perfect size to really fill you up too! Is this the same place as Sylmar's fix in Sylmar? Is so? I like the location in sylmar best. I live near by this market and it has always had bad rep from the locals around. Yes it's a quick stop market but sometimes their items aren't fresh. I went in to see if it really was something like the other location and they are in the back of the store. Their turkey was left open and didn't look like they took care of it. That kind of threw me off. The panini I get is the turkey pesto, while it did taste good the "turkey being out for too long" made it iffy 5/10 I would recommend but is read of ordering online check the place out yourself first. read more

If you are in the middle (or North end) of the San Fernando Valley and want an unexpected fresh and delicious lunch, order online at Sylmar's Fix (note: they have 2 locations) and you will see that this secret gem is hidden away, but worth it. I've only been to the one in Van Nuys and they make their food inside of a local corner store that you may never find yourself visiting (unless you live nearby). The girls making the food couldn't be more pleasant and they really work with fresh ingredients from salads, paninis and juice/fruit blends. I can't recommend Sylmar's fix enough!!!!!!!!!! If you do order, the way it goes is a little odd. IF you order and pay online, then you just show up and pick up your food in the back right. If you order, but don't pay - you go to the back right and grab a receipt from the girls and then stand in line at the front of the store (pick up chips, a drink, fresh produce if you want. We order takeout from here regularly. They are always very prompt and the food is great. All the smoothies absolutely rock. The salads are a not overly complex, and make a great compliment to any sandwich. The perfect place for a quick and healthy meal, or at least reasonably so ;) the Paninis get pretty decadent. Could go either way. The prices are fair. I just wasn't a fan of the rubbery processed chicken. If you want inexpensive food, then okay. I ordered the "salad with chicken." Came out to around $13 with tax and everything. It's literally just about three handfuls of spring mix salad mix, like something you would find at Trader Joes. And then they put about 6 ounces of sliced Chicken on top. Didn't really care for the chicken too much, since it was the rubbery type, probably processed. This is a hidden gem - the paninis are great. The salads are great. I placed an order for a work event I was having nearby, I had probably 20 items on my order. The order was ready on time and all of the items were labeled (which made my job of distributing them so much easier). Everything was very fresh!
