I pride myself on my nose for bargains and yet I have completely neglected the HomeGoods chain…read more This is my first visit to a HomeGoods store, and after surveying the stock, I must admit I am deeply ashamed of myself. I've been missing out! The store is nicely organized into sections. Although for some of the sections items were rather jumbled, and there was a bit of a rummage needed HomeGoods differs from other discounted stores with their extensive stock of familiar and somewhat higher end brands. Just to pick out something randomly I noticed they had Dr. Bronner's soaps and some Dr. Teals products. Unlike other discounted chains, I've heard of and used both their products in the past and I was pleased with both. They also had brands which I own, the globals and the aroma. The discounts were quite reasonable. But I am a pretty hardened shopper. I have a nearly impenetrable defense which generates a force field which the store must break down possibly using a photon torpedo. Here are some of the factors which must be overcomed 1) Duplication: happens more often than not. 2) practical. 3) I don't have much space. 4) a genuine discount. Not those frou -frou 20% off fake sales. Stay away from stores that raise the original price for sales. Macys I'm looking at you. 5) Must equal or exceeds the quality and performance of what I already have. 6) Must be in one of my areas of interest. That would be cooking, books or for some mysterious reason my sock addiction. 7) All resistance can be eliminated if the item is beautiful. HomeGoods came really, really close to punching through the protective force field, melting my brain and turning me into a complete zombie who would willingly shuffle to the register, precious cargo loaded in my arms, and burning a hole in my credit cards. There is absolutely no doubt if I keep returning to the store, I will be zombified. Now that is what I call a great store!

Not realizing that technically these were two stores. I just wandered all over. I did note the well lit, clean, spacious dressing room area. Once I figured out the separation, HomeGoods zoomed up in my opinion and Marshalls just plummeted. Why? Compare to other Marshalls , which has a complete selection of departments which include everything from furniture to kitchenware to clothing. This Marshalls and HomeGoods had separated. From my point of view, HomeGoods had sucked up all the interesting departments, leaving the rather boring clothing and shoes and oddly luggage for the Marshalls. I appreciate this convenient demarcation of the departments. But I am totally overloaded with clothing and shoes and even the luggage. This instantly rendered the stripped down Marshalls into the most boring segregation of products possible. I'm a little hesitant to give my true opinion of this marshals (two stars). It's pretty unfair that they accidentally chopped the store in half leaving all my goodies in the HomeGoods. To be fair, if I actually needed clothing/shoes/luggage, the brands are quite respectable, they are reasonably stylish, they don't have the lowest prices, but still there are discounted. The selection was definitely superior to the other Marshall's that are close by. If you're hunting for something specific, you're definitely gonna have better luck here. So being as dispassionate as possible, I would say the store rates 4 stars. It's definitely more shoppable than other Marshalls and Ross that are not so far away.

The food section has an enormous array of gourmet items. From olives to cookies to candies. And i really love the mens clothing section. Grest prices on fabulous clothing. I bought alk my boxer shorts here. They are holiday prints. There is a wonderful jewelry section too. And what a grand kitchen section. Everything from pans to Kitchen Sid mixers to plates and more. I love this place.

This also enables self-service options like job quotes, online order tracking, and a using a quick reorder tool for previously purchased parts. The best part is having digital receipts of my purchases so I don't have to track my paper copies in the event of requiring an exchange or refund. Check out their current Fall 2024 promotion that ends 12/31/2024. Orders totally $1000 or more get locked-in pricing and qualify for 60 day terms on the order. For the few occasional plumbing needs I have, I can usually find what I need at Home Depot or Ace Hardware. What I don't find there, I can usually purchase very competitively online with a couple days lead time. Overall this has worked out very well. However, this past Monday I had an urgent need for a $50 faucet cartridge for an uncommon faucet. As my Yountville client was anxious to have things wrapped up ASAP, rather than ordering online and waiting a couple of days for it, I called PACE Supply to see if they had one in stock. I spoke with Chris at inside sales and gave him the faucet cartridge make and part number. He replied that they had one in stock and gave me a price. I conferred with my client who agreed to the price and extra cost to go pick it up. I called Chris back 5 minutes later and told him that I would be down within half an hour to pick it up. Chris then asked for my name and phone number etc., ostensibly so that he could have the paperwork ready for me to complete the purchase without delay. When I arrived at the PACE parts counter, the person who waited on me (not Chris) asked for my name and brought the paperwork over. He then told me that the part was not in stock - WHAT ?! I asked him if I could speak to Chris, who then came over to the counter. I reminded Chris that I'd talked with him less than half an hour before, that he'd assured me that there was one cartridge in stock, and that I'd told him I'd be coming right down to pick it up. Since he had told me that, I asked him why had he hadn't physically checked stock or pulled the part before assuring me that it was indeed in stock? He replied that they never physically verify stock or pull parts based on a phone call: that was company policy. He said it would take too much time to go running around checking stock every time someone called about something, and that parts pulled based on phone calls would soon be scattered all over in big piles. At this point I expressed my frustration of having driven 25 miles and wasted over an hour for nothing, and that I didn't think much of their "company policy". His answer was "I'm sorry you feel that way". Any further comments I made to Chris were met the the same repeated mocking response: "I'm sorry you feel that way". Other PACE employees were in close proximity as this conversation played out, and no one said a thing. As such, I think it it very possible that PACE Supply company policy is indeed not to check stock or pull parts based on a phone call, even when a customer says they're on their way over to pick something up. Their company, their rules I suppose, but when a company has policies and employees that abuse and disrespect their customers, what else is there to say?
