There was a gentleman working the golf section and at the time that I walked into the department, I was never greeted or anything. I purposely walked in front of him to look at a new sets of golf clubs, which I came in to buy also, and I left in frustration. I couldn't believe it, i was about to spend $800.00 on a new golf set but I guess I was invisible. Disappointing All of the other departments were great and I did purchase my other items.

What really matters is beyond this surface level obvious requirements is just how uneducated and unskilled the staff is. I have been to this location 6 times and not once did I leave in a timely manner because of some hassle. They speak without thinking and say some nonsense about how the Co-op works. News flash if you have the membership, the policies are written pretty clearly online so I know when you're speaking nonsense. The new people there don't even bother to ask so done who has been there a while to answer a question they don't know. Whoever is training the personnel needs to get removed and the whole staff needs to be remediated to know what customer service actually is and stop hassling customers and telling them half truths or making it so difficult to return something that you bought 2 weeks ago with receipts and all.... The tax free isn't worth it, go to another REI.

While that was frustrating, I'll still give them 4 stars for service. The young man (wow, that makes me sound old, doesn't it!) who helped us was very friendly, checked stock on the floor & in the back, and when he couldn't find what we were looking for, directed us to purchase on the website & have it shipped to the store, so that we'd save the shipping cost. I had a Cabelas credit card that had over $160 in earned points that I did not spend. I had not…read moreused the card in a bit. They claim they sent me a cancellation letter in August that I never recieved. They cancelled my card on December 19th and took away my points that were the same as money in Cabelas. I did not receive that cancellation letter until mid January. They just took away the money that I earned using their card. I called the credit department and they told me they could not give me back my points or reopen my card that was dated to expire on 03/29. How can you take away something that someone earned? They should have sent me a gift card to Cabelas for the points that I earned instead of keeping my money. I do not consider this good business!
