Complete SCAM!!!!!! I went in for a routine cleaning and check-up (with braces on), and they suddenly claimed I had bone loss, deep gum pockets, and "advanced gum disease." They pushed me to see a periodontist ( referral ) and a deep cleaning. I was shocked haha. I've had cleanings every six months my whole life and have never been told anything like this :) I immediately contacted my orthodontist (who is also a periodontist) and told her what happened. She was just as shocked and confirmed that my gums are completely healthy. . She told me " I never have put braces on you if you had any sign of gum disease that would be illegal." This clinic clearly tries to scare patients into paying for unnecessary procedures. It's dishonest, unethical, and DANGEROUS . They DONT CARE about your health -- only your money. Not impressed after my first and likely only visit (which didn't even materialize). They indicated that they had found my insurance plan when I arrived for my appointment, and the visit started. Just as I got into the seat, they told me my insurance was expired. I had some information to the contrary, but they said that when they called, it said expired, and that I had to sort it out directly with them. I ended up having to rebook and go home without having an appointment. I called my insurance and the insurance support person told me that indeed, my insurance is active. They said the dental office listened to a prompt that provided incorrect information. While I completely understand that, I've heard many a doctor actually call the insurance customer support while I was in-office to verify. This is definitely what Ashlyn should have done instead of make me feel insane for acting like my insurance was inactive. Although I rebooked with Swish, I have since booked elsewhere for tomorrow and don't see myself going back. What a colossal waste of my time. I've been going to Swish for 3 years for routine cleaning every 6 months. Always come out clean and the dentists were very knowledgeable. THREE separate visits they've charged me for something they either didn't communicate or didn't perform. This time I tried calling the number provided and domain office directly and couldn't get through. Insurance provider said Swish billed a code on EOB doesn't match cleaning provided and suggested I report it as fraud. Swish text support made a false claim "Hi ___ this exam was performed this is done when Dr. comes in and review with you if any cavities or any concerns. -Swish Domain" The amount of the bill is too small to chase or waste time with reporting. I had a very disappointing experience at Swish Dental North Austin Domain. I felt that pricing was not transparent -- after insurance adjustments, the rates seemed inflated to offset the discounts. I initially had no pain or issues with my tooth, but after a filling was done, the tooth was ground down so much that I was later told I needed a crown. This felt unnecessary and left me frustrated. When I returned for the same filling, it came out within a month, which makes me question the quality of the materials and the work done. Based on my visits, I personally do not feel confident in the level of care or experience here. I am now looking for another dentist as I do not want to risk more unnecessary treatments. Very bad experience. I set an appointment with the central Swish team for an initial appointment to get my daughter's wisdom teeth removed. Upon arriving they thought she was getting a regular cleaning. There was no notes or anything about what we were actually there for. I had to fully explain several times what we needed and the girl finally said that they don't do orthodontic work there. So they literally had no idea why we were there at all. The whole morning was a giant waste of time. And to be honest I got the feeling that the whole place was slightly unprofessional and corporate chain like. Kind of like a Chipotle, but for teeth. I came into his area & he said he has seen 4 different people & all they had done was x-rays. They had a movie blasting loud plus music, it was overwhelmingly loud. IMHO Bad environment for people with anxiety who are trying to seek basic medical maintenance. Then another person came in & took another x-ray (5th different person). After another 15-20 mins the dentist (6th person) finally came in & did the obvious upgrade sales pitch if what all he needed. We explained that we knew & understood but just wanted to get a cleaning. Then the Patient Services Coordinator (7th person)whatever came in & did another sales pitch. I explained to her that all we wanted was x-rays & cleaning. I was willing to pay their $199 signup deal that supposedly was for x-rays, 2 cleanings & discount on other services if needed. Sounded reasonable when I made the apt. But now they want him to do a deep cleaning for his gums - an additional $350+ per side. I explained again that all we wanted was x-rays & cleaning BUT it's been over 1 1/2 hours that he's been in the chair & no one has cleaned his teeth yet. I've been coming here for a few years and I love how tech-savvy the business is, whether it's scheduling appointments via text or avoiding reams of paperwork when you arrive (Ipads, yay!), they just take the pain out of dentist-ing and I love them for it. In addition to great cleanings, fillings and checkups, I've also been using them for invisalign and they didn't disappoint. They took care of all the insurance stuff and the price was far below what others were quoting and they throw in free stuff like whitening and gum surgery (which doesnt sounds too fun, but I'll keep an open mind there). I'd like to think we're in a judgment free zone when I tell you it had been a hot minute since going to the dentist (my bad) so I was nervous beyond belief when I booked my appointment. I've gotta say, this place is absolutely amazing. The dentist game has stepped up tremendously since the early/mid 2000's huh?! The staff and atmosphere was SO comforting I actually enjoyed being there. Not only were they super informative and friendly, but they let you watch Netflix while digging around your mouth. After having a crown fall off on a Friday night, I was able to make an appointment here for the following Monday morning. Dr. Lawson was incredibly helpful and confident in coming up with a plan to fix my tooth. Given that I needed a root canal re-treatment, she referred me to an endodontist for that, which happened on Tuesday. By Wednesday, I was back at swish with Dr. Lawson getting fitted for my permanent crown and getting a temp. Her assistant Vicky literally stayed by me the entire time and explained the process step by step. They are the dream team! Dr. Lawson let me know that I can call her anytime with questions or concerns, and even followed up with a call later in the week to see how I was doing. I know this is a ridiculously long review for a dentist, but I grew up with a negative perspective of dentists. Coming from a low economic background growing up on Medicaid, dentists always treated me and my mom like trash and never bothered to explain anything to us in terms of treatment and procedures. They would just go into my mouth, complete a procedure and bill Medicaid. Never even went over X-rays, treatment plans, etc. So that's why I'm very thankful to Dr. Lawson and her team at Swish for being transparent, kind and very professional every step of the way. read more

I gave this place a chance because my two previous dentists discontinued my insurance (Cigna) and this place had wide availability. Don't be fooled. Read all of the 1-2 star reviews. I scheduled for a basic cleaning, and I ended up coming into the office prepared to sit for 1-2 hours for the X-rays, cleaning, and post consultation. What I ended up receiving was 2 hours of what seemed like a time share presentation. They sit you down with what I thought was the DH; however, she ended up being some sales rep selling you on all of these procedures that you do not need for an hour. Fast forward, the "dentist" (Dr. Shadman) and the "DH" finally visit me and tell me the same sales pitch, but because my appt. ran over their scheduled time they need me to reschedule.Their finance rep also tried to close their sale at the end and offered me "deep discounts" on the recommend procedures and gave me a free teeth whitening. I scheduled for a cleaning the next day because I wanted to be over with this place. The actual cleaning took an hour long, it was subpar, and there was nothing special about it. The dentist didn't even come back to look at my teeth after the cleaning. I have lived here for 20+yrs and this was one of the worst experiences with a professional medical service provider. Do not visit unless you want to sit in a chair and be sold on unnecessary procedures for 2 hours. They ended up tacking on a cleaning service that was not covered on my insurance. read more

Best dental office I've ever been to. 1. The whole staff is amazing, courteous and really efficient. Dr. Lawson is the best. 2. Their equipment and imaging systems are state of the art. 3D x-rays, 3D imaging of how much you grind or pressure you apply to each tooth and how that affects them, etc 3. I went to SWISH by referral for very high-cost procedures: Invisalign to be followed by 4 veneers. Although the quality of the actual dental care (dentist and hygienist) are top notch, it is the most poorly run administrative organization I've encountered in my life, medical or dental. Calls are never returned-- ever! Every request for the simplest of things, like copies of records required multiple attempts, even though the person you're talking with tells you they're sending it right then. Multiple times, requests to speak with the dentist about a concern were never even conveyed to her. I learned later she'd never even known I'd tried to reach her. For the veneers quote they stalled me for so long in providing the formal treatment plan that it was after they'd already taken my money and ordered my Invisalign. I had trusted that the dentist's verbal estimate would be pretty much what the price was going to be, since she does this all the time. The practice manager never went over anything or asked if I had questions, she just sent me a link to their website to view it. The treatment plan was $2500 higher than the dentist's verbal estimate and by that time it was too late to back out (no refunds!). When I asked for clarification on several proposed services I was told tersely, "That's just how we set our prices." Utterly unacceptable!! They were asking for more than $9,000 then not willing to explain a single thing, nor discuss what elements might be flexible to make it more affordable. I am going somewhere else for veneers. BOTTOM LINE: This is not a professional dental practice, it is a CORPORATION first and foremost. AVOID! read more

All the stars for the Swish team for getting my Invisalign finished and teeth whitened! I was really unhappy with my last dentist's Invisalign "results" and had my case transferred over to Swish. They were able to easily fix small gaps in my front teeth, which my previous dentist said wasn't possible. A super easy round of refinements closed the gaps and my smile is finally where I want it to be. The team bent over backwards to have my case transferred, get my trays in and made sure they could squeeze me in to remove the Invisalign attachments off before my dentist went on vacation. All the hygienists are super sweet and friendly and they make the experience as pleasant as a dentist's office can possibly be. Adrian, the operations manager, contacted me after my initial appointment and 1 star review. He was extremely nice and got me on the schedule for another cleaning free of charge. He was at the door when I walked in and handed me off to the hygienist, Luxe, for my cleaning. Luxe did a great job and was super nice. My teeth were actually cleaned and my wallet wasn't under attack. Adrian came back in to make sure everything went well and that I was satisfied with the visit. As far as Adrian and Luxe, they are 5 star people and gave me a 5 star experience, albeit after a novel of a 1 star review. I appreciate Adrian for following up with me. He did everything a manager should have done in his situation. Luxe was awesome. Thank you both. I'm updating to 3 stars because of Adrian and Luxe (Average of the 5 stars for them and the 1 star for Swish as a company). As a company, Swish is still 1 star to me. Thinking about the number of people they have charged for topical anesthetic for cleanings and mouth wash rinses legitimately angers me. I think about my Nana or girlfriend going in there for a cleaning and being hustled into paying $30 for numbing cream and $25 for mouth wash. "You will be screaming out in pain because of how deep the cleaning will be". That quote will forever anger me when I think about the elderly folks, girls, or just generally trusting people who didn't question it. Judging by other reviews, the selling and scare tactics are a systemic issue that are out of Adrian or Luxe's control. Adrian and Luxe: y'all seem like wonderful people who are competent and hardworking. Just moved to Austin. Staff was able to get me in on Black Friday, so luckily I didn't have to take off work for an appointment . Staff was great. My hygienist did amazing! Normally I have very sensitive gum lines, and I need anesthetic treatment before, however, this time I didn't! Very high end scans and X-rays for my night guard I needed.
