After seeing this Swig location under construction for months, my husband and I were interested to see what all the hype was about. We found the menus at the drive-thru a bit confusing and had to pull up the full menu on my phone. The girl working at the window had a friendly tone but wasn't very helpful. We ultimately decided on two refreshers-- "The Fighter" and "The Strawberry Breeze". We also ordered the chocolate chip cookies and the campfire crispy. I hate to say this, because I don't like wasting food, but everything ended up getting trashed. The drinks were WAY too sweet. I expected sweetness, but these were Shirley Temple with extra sugar level sweet. The coconut in "The Strawberry Breeze" also tasted like the smell of suntan oil. The cookies were probably what you'd expect, but the campfire crispy was stale and not worth the calories. It is very chaotic. The walk up window closes at 2pm and there is no signage to inform customers. If you aren't a regular or new to Swig good luck trying to choose a drink because the employees are at your car before you even get to the menu. I recommend downloading the app to familiarize yourself with the offerings before you go, otherwise it's a stressful experience. read more

While our driving around my husband and I noticed the "swig" sign and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately that time the line was over an hour long and we had an overtired toddler who needed a nap. We were disappointed by the long line and service which is why I docked Swig a star. We drove by a few days later and they had their act together and the line moving so we gave it a try! We ended up ordering the Waikiki soda, The bliss (blended), and the cloud 9 refresher (blended). The Waikiki was too tropical and tasted a bit like sunscreen, but the bliss and the cloud 9 were delicious. We loved the drinks blended which is like a slushy, and they definitely hit the spot on a warm day. The rest of the menu has a vast array of options from small snacks like cookies and pretzel bites to numerous sodas, energy drinks, sparkling waters all with endless variations and even a create your own option. They offer zero calorie and sugar free options as well as full calorie sugar bombs; whatever floats your boat! Swig seems to be wildly popular, they have a long line all the time. Luckily it seems that they have gotten used to their popularity and now understand how to move the line with ease. The swig stand is small and driving through is the way to go. The prices are reasonable but for sodas it does add up quickly. It is drive-thru only, and we pulled up and the line was about 20 cars long on a Sunday afternoon. It was nuts! We waited in it and it went decently fast. The menu items are all over the place but we tried a few things. I got the naughty & nice, which was Dr Pepper with English toffee and half and half. Since I was in my lunch I parked and went to the walk up window. A girl in a pink hoodie with dark hair opened the window and said "can I help you with something?" She closed the window and walked away, when she came back she handed me sodas that were already sitting in front of the pick up window when she initially opened it. This place is so fun! Located near beautiful Paradise Valley off of Shea Blvd. The lines appear long but move quite fast with the employees taking mobile orders car side. The first time I came I got the Big Al. It's a coke drink with coconut cream & lime. Loved it so much that I ordered the supplies to occasionally make from home, though you truly can't beat the real thing. On my 2nd visit I ordered the Shark Attack! When this location first opened I went quite frequently because I enjoyed the sodas. Unfortunately the costumer service wasn't great to begin with and has not improved with time. Twice now when I visited this location with my friend and have asked to do separate transactions because we both have loyalty numbers, they told us they were not going to use separate numbers because it's "easier for them". Confused by this, we asked again if we could use separate numbers and they begrudgingly agreed, not to mention the way their attitude changed after. What's the point of having a loyalty program if you're not going to let costumers use it?? I've worked in costumer service for a business with a loyalty program, to say I was shocked when they denied us the right to use our numbers would be an understatement. Stopped by earlier today. The menu is huge. Decide what you want before you get in the line. There's no information about getting in two lines and there was only one attendant when we pulled up. Eventually another one came out when the traffic started to block the whole drive. The one who came out seemed pretty unhappy about needing to come out to take orders. Here's the thing. I don't blame her. It is HOT. There is zero shade. There are no umbrellas. There are no trees. There are no fans. There are no misting devices. No cooling vests that I could see. The owner is clearly capable of upgrading enough to take orders from the car line because they have their iPads or whatever but the owner isn't protecting their employees from the heat/sun at all. It's not ok. The drink we got was ok. The employee inside handing out orders was pleasant. The one outside, not so much. We wanted more than one drink but only ordered the one due to this. So, take care of your employees so that they are pleasant so that we can do things like order more drinks please. I am giving only 3 starts because the poor workers (mainly kids from when I have gone) they having working here must be dying! They had TONS of staff opening weekend and have not had enough staff since. I was just there recently and the girl apologized to me and said they could only take 5 cars (or maybe it was 4 cars) at a time and then they had to step inside for 5 minutes. This I TOTALLY AGREE WITH - it is TOO HOT for them to be outside for long; however, why would the owner not just staff TWO workers at a time to take the orders in tandem instead of working one worker to death in this heat?! For what they charge for the drinks and cookies and the number of cars going through - they have got to be making a ton of money, so they need to staff up and spend some money on a canopy and misters and fans or something! The drinks are amazing! The accuracy in orders fulfilled and the ingredients occasionally are not. I just believe it's helpful to know if a purée is being replaced with a syrup and giving me the opinion to decide if I want that instead of not informing me and making that decision for me. Great idea. Poor execution. We have tried this place 3 times, not sure why I didn't learn the first trip. Today both our Poppin' Pineapple and Shark Attack were both clearly made with soda water or something else and not the advertised Sprite. This has happened just about every time we have went.
