Went to Gettysburg to go camping and was looking for a good cocktail. Located this gem online for their interesting cocktail menu. The establishment is on the main road, so when busy parking could be sort of hard to come by, we were there on a Saturday at about noon and got a spot right up front. They have such an adorable seating area outside with a walk-up bar. I had the frozen wine slushie with both flavors mixed, and it was outstanding. The bartenders were super nice and easy to talk to!! We were told, however, that the interesting drink menu was only inside, so after our 1st cocktail, we headed inside to sit at the bar. The menu had lots of fun drinks to pick from the two we got were pretty darn good, and the bartender again was so sweet. We also found out you can stay here and it's haunted so I diffently want to go back and stay and eat next time.

Overall great service... The food was just okay. The crab soup was more like old veggie soup with crab meat thrown in for good measure and it wasn't even fresh crab meat, it was definitely canned. Odd dining room, and service was just okay, not bad, but not great... Went here because we were staying at Farnsworth and didn't have much else as a choice for dinner... Not bad, not outstanding, just mediocre...

Ambiance is beautiful and peaceful. Food was typical cafe/ bar food. Service was hospitable. The doggie menu was super cute. It was so nice to have a beautiful place to eat in the company of my dog. We will be back again.

We stopped in on a gorgeous fall Wednesday (midweek is the best time to be in town). It is a nice open air location right off the street. It was seat yourself that day but I'd reason it's not that way peak season. We chose a little table next to water feature between the the tavern and the building next door. The menu was small but anyone could find something to eat on it. When you order you go to the bar which looks small but is full service and has a few local beers on tap and some bottled. My wife ordered the Cobb salad with a side of fries and I chose the crab cake sandwich. I ordered a troegs beer to drink and she ordered a frozen apple cider drink. Obviously it was made with apples from a local orchard, this is Adams county. Her frozen cider was amazing and we actually ordered two to go. My crab cake sandwich was decent but I'm kind of picky because I grew up in Delaware. We shared the fries which were good and she really enjoyed her salad which was a pretty good size. The bartender was funny and we had a good time chatting with him. I was debating a second drink when he said "the school is about to dismiss for the day and it's going to get loud and crazy outside so that's up to you". We cashed out, took our two frozen drinks and thanked him.

Didn't try this but loved the name of the wine

Not sure the reason for all the bad reviews as we had a great experience here. We came on Friday night and were seated fairly quickly but enjoyed great drinks and service at the bar while we waited. Absolutely loved the ambiance of the place, so much memorabilia to look at while you wait. I got the roast beef sandwich and it was delicious, the crispy onion straws on top was the perfect touch. Hubby got the french dip and really enjoyed it, the flatbread pizza our friend got was also delicious. Looking forward to coming back here when the weather is better, the strawberry lemonade mixed drink was delicious. We were in town for the inaugural Dewey's Gettysburg Jubilee and so many of the people in our group came here and loved it.

Always a stop on our Gettysburg trip. Fun to people watch, grab a beer and eat some good food. Recommend the flatbreads and sandwiches!

Of the two servers they had, we had the worst of the two. She disappeared from the floor for long periods so it was difficult to even get a drink refill. Ended up sticking with water as the one cocktail I had was clearly a mix and also seemed to have no alcohol in it. Appetizer selection was limited to seafood or onion soup. Don't like seafood? Tough luck. If you like seafood with some variation of Old Bay then you'll probably like this place. Although there are much cheaper places to eat if you just want basic northerner seasoning. The restaurant was not advertised as a seafood place otherwise I would have avoided it. I ended up ordering a steak, which came with a salad and a potato. The salad and potato was the best part. Despite ordering the steak medium rare, it was unevenly cooked and dry with a leathery exterior. I would have sent it back but I didn't want to spend another hour trying to get someone's attention to resolve it. If I ever find myself in Gettysburg again, I will be sure to eat elsewhere, this was not good value for money.

He said that "You are transported back in time the moment you step into the place." He was not wrong. Though it was late evening, there were still tons of people waiting to get in. We were starving but figured the wait must mean the food was worth it and...it was! We chose first available and were seated at the bar in the corner. It was nice because we didn't wait long to be served and we had I nice view of the entire restaurant. A very rustic place that looked as I would imagine it did in 1863. My friend ordered a Caesar salad, fillet, and a baked potato. The salad came with a freshly baked yeast dinner roll. Fillet was cooked to perfection. I ordered the King's Soup which was French onion soup except with large chunks of tender beef in it. My entree was the Spring House Salad which was mixed greens, apples, walnuts, chipped smoked turkey, with herb dressing and it was divine. The sleeper of the meal was the datenut bread with cream cheese that came with my salad. A dark brown molasses bread with dried fruit and nuts. It was so chocked full of nuts and fruit while the dough was the most moist bread I've ever had. I couldn't eat both pieces after the meal so took it in a to go container. I ate it on the drive home and it was still moist and delicious.

We'd spent an entire day touring the battlefield, it's a Saturday, and the town is full of tourists. No surprise we had a thirty minute wait for a table. But once inside and seated, it was clear to us that the B & G was no ordinary bar & grill. The burgers are themed for generals, both Federal and Confederate, who took part in the battle. Each burger is characterized by the general it's named for. The General Buford, for example, is served with bleu cheese crumbles and horseradish (he's a cavalry officer, get it?) and the Robert E. Lee features a slab of Virginia ham. I ordered the General George Meade. Meade was a Pennsylvanian, so naturally this burger comes with a pile of Philly cheesesteak. A carnivore's delight, to be sure. No complaints here. And if I'm ever back this way, I'm curious to try the General Longstreet: it's served with carmelized onions and peanut butter. That's gotta be good.
