After 2 years of living in Monterey, I finally was able to try this place out. It always closed early and no one ever answered the phone. Should of known those were warning flags. The day I went I noticed prices were not shown, but I expected the usual $2-3. I was so surprised when I was rung up for $20 for just 3 macarons that were various sizes. When you walk inside it's really quiet and not inviting like most macaron or dessert shops you go to. The glass shelves are used as storage as well and there's just not much effort in the presentation. The macarons tasted like they were mass produced as well. You might as well get macarons from Trader Joe's or Costco which are so much more affordable. read more

From the outside this little sweets store seemed pretty good. My boyfriend and I decided to go inside and get some ice cream because it was a moderately hot day. Little did we know that the ice cream was like $6 and we paid for it anyway because we did not want to be rude ... however you can get the same ice cream at the gas station up the street for $1. The ice cream was kind of old and was really frozen. When we looked around the macaroons they sold also looked like they were bought from the store. I have to agree with the other reviews, this place is super shady. No prices anywhere and she tried to charge $5 each for a push pop. If my son hadn't already started eating it I would not have bought it. Initially she told me it was $7.98 for two, then noticed he was already eating one and upped the price to $9.98 for two. I had no choice but to buy the one but won't spend another penny here. Avoid at all costs. For one small macaron and a lollipop that was about half the size of a tootsie pop, I was charged almost $9.00. Dont bother coming in, it's a waste of time, especially if you have kids. For a candy store it sure isn't kid friendly! A must experience!! You pick amongst an array of chocolates with some unique choices and many normalized chocolate choices but all delicious. Paired with wine and all for $5 approx. Moreover, the shop owner is very attentive and was generously letting us try chocolates beyond what we had paid for with our samples. Pricey, but that's ok, the rents are high for the area. The food is decent, but the biggest issue is that you never know when they are open. I've swung by half a dozen times, always within windows of when they advertise they are open, and they are not open. I've only found that open one time! Avoid! On our way to our car the kids asked for some ice cream from the freezer. We bought two drumsticks, a smaller cone and an ice cream sandwich. We were charged $26! I was shocked but had already promised the kids, so I went ahead and bought them. As we were walking up the stairs, we opened the packaging and the ice cream clearly had melted and been refrozen. By the time we got to our car the ice cream had already started melting and was stuck to the packaging. I went back and told the lady and she was adamant that that was just how they were shaped. I gotta agree with the others, this place is a hidden gem! We happened upon the chocolate tasting and "splurged" 3 dollas on the pick your own chocolate and wine pairing. Totally awesome! The lady who ran the store was super friendly and explained all the chocolates, and kindly let us retry a chocolate when I forgot which chocolate I actually picked and liked best! WARNING BEWARE: This place is THE definition of a tourist trap. The lady is nice but in a kind of sketchy way. Prices aren't listed anywhere, not even on their website. You only find out at the very end, meanwhile she tries to sell you other stuff and add more to your order than you asked in an effort to sell more. $4.00/ea for macaroons that aren't even fresh?? That's ridiculous. I could get cheaper macaroons in Paris. This shop will do anything to get your money. The person behind us simply asked if there was a change machine anywhere nearby. The owner replied "no" in an effort to get the person to buy something to make change. There was a change machine less than 100 feet away. VERY sketchy and overpriced for grocery store deli selection treats. Go down the block and there are wayyyy better sweets stores. The inside looked chaotic too. I couldn't even tell what all they were selling at first. Also the pictures here are not a good representation of the store. The inside looked nothing like the pictures. The inside looked like it was a construction zone. Very messy and there was hardly any product out to see. The pictures here are very select and cut off all the mess. Will never be back. Amazing chocolate, my wife loves the salted caramels. We drove two hours for the chocolate. My wife is something of a chocolate snob and hard to please when it comes to chocolate. When she saw the shop today, she ran in front of a car to get there, no exaggeration. The service is top shelf. We have been there twice and the owner has always been there and goes above and beyond to make you happy. If you're in Monterey and like chocolate, this is the place! read more

I love this shop! Cute, comfortable, inviting, and delicious chocolates. It was worth walking around the second floor to find this shop. Their chocolates and mini cake bites are a nice change from the typical candy found on Cannery Row. I sat and enjoyed the quiet relaxation while tasting different cake bites and chocolates. read more
