Hello Kitty Marshmallow Treats
Joy D.

On a business trip in Monterey and found this cute shop as I was strolling around after a day of conferences. It was the prettiest sight to see and had many cute offerings of Asian candies, drinks and novelty items. Picked up every flavor of the Hello Kitty marshmallow treats. Man behind the counter was pleasant. Store was very clean.

Display of some candies.

I'm my girls (nieces) decided to visit your store after they got a bit of dinner. They enjoyed your colorful shop, so why not leave a review. Note: when a customer ask "what is the most popular candy in your shop?"; I liked that you asked whether the customer prefers sweet or sour candies, but you didn't show me your display of candies. Perhaps showing the candies away from the register would be a good idea to sell. For the presentation of the candies in the jars, you can switch to printing the labels of some sort. Now for the candies, I tried a sour gummy worm. To impress the customers, we want the candies to be as fresh as possible and display of candies near the register to look more than a couple of them. And I didn't get a chance to try other candies behind the register. Hopefully this review gives you an idea to improve your invoice. Thanks.

So cute in here and the candy (I got the sour ropes by the pound) was sooo yummy and cheap. I thought the customer service was good.

It's super soft with a deep chocolate taste, lots of flavors to choose from such as german chocolate cake, cookies and cream etc or classics like milk chocolate and dark chocolate etc. The sign says 1/4 pound minimum for fudge purchases. So I chose 2 flavors and asked for 1/8 pound of each, which would total the minimum requirement of 1/4 pound fudge. However, worker clarified that the sign meant 1/4 pound minimum for EACH flavor. Ended up choosing the Rocky Road chocolate and I was so delighted to eat it! Highly recommend the fudge, can't recommend anything else here really.

My four-year-old was mad when we walked past it, and only moved on because I promised we could go back if he didn't get a sweet treat at one of the other shops. We walked the whole way down the wharf and my son still wanted Candy World, it's like the storefront imprinted itself on his vulnerable little mind. We were with our two-year-old and four-year-old nephew too, and all three boys were thrilled to go inside--like kids in a candy store, as the saying goes. There were stacks of buckets by the entrance, and we took one almost reflexively, falling deeper into the trap. The store was bursting with candy, just barrels and barrels of taffy and lollipops and every candy you might find in your average drugstore. The prices were astonishing. $4 for a ring pop, $6 for one of those flashlight candies that always show up in party favors. It took some work declining to buy those for my kids. We decided to get some fudge instead, and paid like $12 for small pieces of milk chocolate and dark chocolate sea salt caramel. Service was fast and helpful enough, and the kids devoured that milk chocolate. I tasted it and while it wasn't especially good, it was spectacularly sweet. The sugar was almost gritty on my teeth. The dark chocolate sea salt caramel was slightly better. If my kids had had their way, they would've filled that bucket to the top, and the bill might have climbed well into the hundreds. Candy World trapped us, but I feel like we got out relatively unscathed.

From the main street on Ocean Avenue, their sign is hanging at the entrance of the alley, along with a "Thomas Kinkade" sign adjacent to it. As you enter the quaint little alley, go straight down this whimsical pathway and right around the corner is this Chocolate Garden in front of a garden. It felt like we were gonna run into the Hobbits from 'Lord of the Rings' as we were wandering into this enchanting place. The word xocolatl comes from Nahuatl and means "bitter water," describing the original cacao drink consumed by the Aztecs and Mayans. This boutique store specializes in ethically sourced, single-origin chocolates from indigenous growers in Central and South America. Known for its rich selection of truffles, drinking chocolate, and cacao tastings, along with health products and artisanal items like jewelry and textiles. Although they specialize in chocolates from the Central and South America regions, they appear to have chocolates from all over the world. But what caught my attention as we were perusing inside their vast quantities of imported chocolates, were the Filipino-flavored chocolates straight from the Philippines. The brand is Theo and Philo, which we've never heard of before, but they are an award-winning chocolatier and is celebrated for its craftsmanship, storytelling, and commitment to fair trade, supporting scholarships and farming communities. They had flavors like Calamansi, Barako Coffee, Pinipig (Pili Nut), Green Mango, Sili Labuyo (Spicy Chili), Turon and.......ADOBO. Holy sh*t, I knew I had to get that one. And yes, it really did taste like Adobo. ***mind blown*** Once we eventually finished them, we craved some more and decided to order some more online. We were planning on ordering directly from the Philippines but quickly realized it was gonna cost us more in shipping. Luckily, I remembered the sales lady handing me a card and stated that we can order directly from them. So, that's what I did. I'd definitely order again and again, and these are especially great as gifts for special occasions. I've already ordered more batches that I will gift for my friends and family. Not only are they a great company, the Xocolatl Garden also offers sustainable chocolatiers from all over the world and is dedicated to sustaining indigenous communities and preserving the rainforest, making it a destination for both taste and tradition.

Maybe emphasizing the experience and notes in each chocolate. It would be fun to dive deeper into it as an event with seats and pairings as there were many things I wanted to try and learn about but it just seemed too pricey to take the chance on one bar.
