We stopped in for a quick treat to bring back to hotel with us after eating at restaurant nearby. The shop is small and filled with so much snacks that you could imagine! It smelled great like candy popcorn but not so overwhelming either. It was a nice smell. The guy who helped was quick to greet us and get us what we needed. We chose toffee caramel covered apple and a chocolate toffee candy square. The candy square was good but goodness it was a bit hard for me to even break so little nibbles we took. The caramel chocolate covered apple we got was so good.

Sweet tooth destination when strolling the Monterey Wharf Dessert: One can never go wrong with their conventional caramel and peanut apple. The apple was ripened and crunchy with the right amount of soft caramel. Depending on the day, the apples are not always crisp. The second must is the caramel popcorn which was freshly popped and served warmly to us in a cute red / white striped box to preserve its flavor. The cotton candy is buy 3 get 1 free and I encourage one to stick to the pink and blue. I usually skip the taffy since it's on the tougher side for me. Service: The employee was kind and helpful. It was quick service in and out. When it's a busy day though the line can look troublesome but it is always manageable for them. Ambiance: Same cute candy shop look since my childhood. I love the old fashion salt water taffy and popcorn industrial machines for kids to observe.

As someone who grew up in the area, this is a nostalgic stop for some sweet treats. There are lots of candy confections, chocolates, an ice cream counter, & candied apples. I typically enjoy English Toffee or an English Toffee Apple that they will slice for you. This time around, we got some caramel corn. We found it tasty, but very caramelized to the point that some bites were hard on the teeth. It became easier & softer to eat the next day. Customer service was a straightforward experience. The shop is small & narrow, so it can fill up quickly with other customers. It smells wonderfully sugary sweet from the caramel corn.

I stop here every time I visit the wharf. I always get the carmel popcorn, a few pieces of chocolate and ice cream. Staff is friendly and they offer military discounts!

Great salt water taffy. I had chocolate covered bacon which was amazing. The salty taste from the bacon with the chocolate was a great mix. Kind of pricey because of being on the wharf.

Decent place to get candy on the wharf. They have chocolate, peanut brittle taffy and more. It's very busy and touristy. I've gotten things here over the years it's conveniently located.

Some people (like me) were given a buzzer thing that was supposed to let you know when your ice cream was ready to pick up at a separate counter. Some people where just asked their names and their names were called when their order was ready. Unfortunately, the person taking my order forgot to enter it into the computer system until I asked if my buzzer thing was working because it had taken an awfully long time to get a simple small shake. If you are able to find a seat outside at the rear of the store overlooking Monterey Bay the view is awesome, but there is not much of a view from inside seating nor the courtyard seating in the front of the store. They need an assigned person to patrol both inside and outside eating and seating areas since there is such a high volume of customers, the eating and seating surfaces need to be better cleaned. The shake was OK, nothing spectacular and it was less ice cream than milky (I saw them adding liquid to the ice cream machine just before my order was prepared so maybe it had not had enough time to freeze properly). As with most Cannery Row businesses there is no parking close by. This business does not seem to have any bathroom facilities nor anywhere for parents to wash off the sticky sweet treats from the hands and faces of their kids.

I decided to go the next day, and the line was more manageable and I found street parking nearby. The pastry counter is the first thing you see when you enter. I got a few goodies to try which included the blue cornmeal cookie, almond financier and an orange blossom tea cake. I also ordered their seasonal coffee which was a honey saffron latte. The cookies, financier and tea cake were all delicious. The latte wasn't overly sweet and was even a bit savory. It grew on me. There were a few sandwiches ordered by other patrons that looked scrumptious. If I hadn't eaten breakfast already, I would've ordered something substantial. Hopefully, I'll return to Monterey again. My 7- and 9-year-old didn't like the croissant sandwich because it had spicy mustard and sweet pickles. Unfortunately, they had run out of the other sandwiches, so our only other option was the spinach wrap, which I ordered but found bland and lacking flavor. We may have missed their more popular dishes because they stop serving them at 11 a.m. The tables inside also weren't clean. I chose this café because it was highly recommended on TikTok, but I probably wouldn't return. Cappuccino: 9/10 Fancy dessert: 8.5/10
