Box of "12 Piece Assorted Chocolates"

Finally got to try Lula's Chocolates. Bought my mom a box of truffles and the buttercream box for myself. Creamy, high quality, and amazing. The lady working at the shop was so sweet as well. Next time I am back in Northern California, I'll definitely pay another visit to Lula's! The shop was very clean and provided a wide range of selection, but the buttercream chocolates have definitely blown me away! A true gem in Carmel-by-the-Sea!

An unusually warm winter day in the Bay Area called for a day trip to Carmel. Perusing the streets of Carmel is always a treat. Every time I visit, which is about once a year, I'm always filled with excitement as if it's the first time. I love visiting new places and after visiting a toy store, walking back to the car took me to Lulu's Chocolates, and oh so glad I stumbled upon it. COVID guidance was in place and there's a sign before you enter the quaint chocolatier. I believe they only allowed one person at the time, lucky for me, I was the only one at that time. I felt I could check out the place without feeling hurried. I am intentionally supporting local small businesses especially during a pandemic. Lovely story with a nice associate. Score! The store was laid out beautifully and everything looked delicious: from their infamous caramel selection to Monterey milk chocolate toffee, I was in chocolate heaven. Now I regret not getting the hot chocolate, maybe next time. They also had their selection of Valentine's Day chocolates out. As a mug collector of notable places I visit, I was able to snag a beautiful chocolate colored mug from Lulu's with their logo. The pricing was reasonable so I didn't hesitate. (Other places charge so much for mugs/merch!) I can't wait for another warm day to visit Carmel, or perhaps even on a cold day - because I'll be back for more chocolates at Lulu's for sure.

    California Toffee and Assorted Chocolates....Heavenly!!

I meant to go to the other store in Monterey, but I ended up here in the Ryan Ranch area... Definitely worth the trip! Love Lula's!!! They have so many great varieties and they are smooth and decadent! Each of the assorted chocolates are made with high quality ingredients and their packaging makes the final touch look classy. This location is smaller compared to the the other ones in Carmel and Monterey, however, staff was nice and helpful.

Cozy chocolate shop. Bought my friend a pretty little assorted box of chocolates ($11 for 2 dark chocolate truffles, 2 milk chocolate truffles) for Valentine's Day!

Omg...our office must have eaten at least 5000 calories of chocolate today.

The Xocolatl Garden was one of these random, unexpected, but wholly welcome finds: accessible either via a festoon-lit narrow alley from Ocean Avenue, or via a winding path leading north from Piccadilly Park, this absolutely enchanting hidden plaza, with its tiny shop against one wall, serenades you with its silence and solitude, and invites you in to sample some of the finest chocolates that the world has to offer! The Turkish delights were basically edible art with petals, pistachios, and vibrant colors. And the baklava? Sitting there like it knew it was about to win. The Turkish delight tasted overly artificial, almost perfumey in a bad way. The marshmallow rolls had a weird paste-like texture. Baklava was fine, but nothing special. Also, the packaging? Some people where just asked their names and their names were called when their order was ready. Unfortunately, the person taking my order forgot to enter it into the computer system until I asked if my buzzer thing was working because it had taken an awfully long time to get a simple small shake. If you are able to find a seat outside at the rear of the store overlooking Monterey Bay the view is awesome, but there is not much of a view from inside seating nor the courtyard seating in the front of the store. They need an assigned person to patrol both inside and outside eating and seating areas since there is such a high volume of customers, the eating and seating surfaces need to be better cleaned. The shake was OK, nothing spectacular and it was less ice cream than milky (I saw them adding liquid to the ice cream machine just before my order was prepared so maybe it had not had enough time to freeze properly). As with most Cannery Row businesses there is no parking close by. This business does not seem to have any bathroom facilities nor anywhere for parents to wash off the sticky sweet treats from the hands and faces of their kids.
