I have been shopping at this See's location for years, and to be honest, this is the first time that I have ever been disappointed. Because I have been a long time patron, and have never had any issues until my recent visit, I am giving 3 stars instead of 5. My most recent experience certainly does not warrant 5 star service, quality, or experience that I am used to at See's. First of all, my custom box was so wrong it's not even funny. I don't know what she was doing back there, but most of the candy I asked for was not included in the box. I love many of the different varieties of the candy, however, a custom box is to pick out your favorites. Sadly, only my favorite butter chews, walnut square, and Bordeaux were the only favorite in my box. She forgot my molasses chips, almond squares, and several others. I did not know this until we opened the box later that night, far away from the location in order to take it back. Also, seems the quality of candy at this particular location has declined. Maybe my imagination, maybe I was mad because my candy was wrong. Who knows... read more

I love going to the place and buying a variety of chocolates. My favorites are the dark ones with raspberry cream. They are a little expensive, but it is worth it for how delicious they are. The girls who work there are helpful always. read more

With it being near St. Patrick's Day, the grand daughters and I just had to stop in for our annual "Irish potato" at our favorite candy store. The women here are so friendly and are always handing out free samples. But it is only once a year that you can buy Irish spuds! A delicious divinity concoction covered in powdered chocolate. I swear it looks just like a genuine russet potato. And being the season of green, we also went for the green minty marshmallow covered in dark chocolate, and don't forget to get the Irish Cream candy too, and a half pound of dark chocolate shamrocks. Good thing I went to the dentist three weeks ago and was cavity free, so I can splurge a bit on chocolate!!! read more

You all know what see'd candy is. And either you love it or think it's ok. If you hate it, well you're just eating the wrong ones and there is a candy guide that you should look at. This isn't a review on the candy so mush as it is about the staff. I wish I could remember the name of the lady behind the counter, but as I walked out, I was thinking this was the nicest, friendliest see's candy experience ever. Funny enough, my wife said the same thing to me over dinner. And the thing is, most of the see's candy employees are already pretty nice and helpful. This lady was over the top nice and helpful. Stopped by See's on Valentine's Day to pick up some gifts. The store was packed, however there were plenty of employees to help acknowledge and assist everyone. It's hard to leave a bad review for one of the most delicious treats available. And this is nothing against the staff, as they were all wonderful. No, this is a more corporate issue. I bought my wife a box of what was supposed to be assorted milk chocolate treats. The label said it was milk chocolate treats. Unfortunately, it was filled with nut chews. I hear you saying, so what? Problem is, my wife has a severe nut allergy. Finding a few nut chews would have been one thing, and could be dealt with. But the vast majority of the box we're nut chews. So my wife couldn't enjoy her treat. Our Valentine's dinner was ruined. Our whole evening was ruined. So go get those delicious treats. But be super careful, ok? read more

The service was good but of the three people at the counter no one knew how to use the register. They were nice enough to give us a taste of the egg nog truffles but it was so difficult to check out as there was no "line area" that I considered setting my things down and leaving. See's Candies are always a nice stop for cheap, fairly okay tasting candies but this one didn't shine much above and beyond. Meh. read more

Finally got a chance to go here. It is a smaller but less crowded store versus where I usually go (campbell or sf). Went here over the weekend in order to get some goodies for our super hardworking development office ladies that rock. The sample: cranberry orange walnut with dark chocolate and nougat.. NOMZ. Half of the fun of going to Sees is for the sample. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and I ended up with my usual haul: Scotchmallow, dark chocolate with almond clusters and toffette. I'm used to Chocolate, Colombian Coffee, Vanilla and Butter Scotch ... but Cinnamon... is a new one for me... Sees.... Even though it's a franchise, their chocolate is still good. I have no clue who thought the store should be black and white. It's almost too white :) Chocolates I like: Milk chocolate pecan buds- chocolate covered toasted pecans with caramel. Marzipan- almond paste covered in chocolate. Rocky Road-a square of chocolate with marshmallows and nuts. Honestly the list goes on and on.... Staff is usually okay. You get a free chocolate, so stop by for that at least :) there are lots of chocolates, lollipops, Bon bons, etc to choose from! read more

One can't or shouldn't pass See's when visiting the Del Monte shopping center, walk in & the smell of fine chocolate permeates your nostrils. This location is smaller when compared to other stores. But, the full array of tasty treats are represented. My favorite is the milk chocolate pecan buds, the best damn chocolate, camel & pecan creation on the entire planet regardless what it's called. Price wise, See's is still under $20 bucks a pound. A great deal when compared to other chocolatiers. I've been a fan of See's for years, and I've always been impressed by the friendly associates. Whether they are offering you free samples or answering questions about their chocolates, the customer service is always top notch! A few bucks per pound can be saved by buying See's gift certificates at Costco. They are available around the Christmas holiday. This review is for the lady handing out candy for the Del Monte Center trick or treating event: My daughter (11 years old) waited in line to get candy for the trick or treating event. The lady handing out candy told my daughter " the candy is for the little kids" and would not give her any candy. She was super excited to go trick or treating but after this she spent the rest of Halloween self conscious that people were going to tell her she was too old. We left Del Monte Center early and several other events early...How hard would it have been to hand her some candy and tell her Happy Halloween? You're handing out candy for a candy store...It was so incredibly unkind to turn my 11 year old away like that! read more

After my experience at a small chocolate shop in town last night, I'm reminded of much I love See's candy! It moves out the door fast. Fast moving product, means fresh candy. Yes, candy does get old. Ever notice how your Halloween candy tastes like garbage 3 months later and hits the trash can? I love that they greet you with a free sample. You can mix and match whatever you want at the counter and it's pretty reasonably priced. They weigh it so you don't have to keep asking prices of things. They have new candy flavors with each season so you know for sure what's fresh. They have a new chocolate covered brittle which is amazing. I skip all the dark chocolate and white chocolate and go for the milk chocolate. And it really does make the perfect gift for peeps who don't need more clutter. I usually skip mailing it anywhere in the summer because the package to keep it cool gets too expensive but Christmas, Father's Day and Mother's Day are perfect times. Oh yeah and Easter! I met friends in Monterey and they took me to See's Candies-what a great place! As we entered we were given a piece of chocolate to taste (wonderful touch!) And then friends began to make their choices. I got a pound of their nuts and chews which was delicious. You just can't beat See's for consistently high-quality chocolates. There's the much-loved free sample when you come in, and the case full of the standard and seasonal chocolates. My favorites are the butterscotch square, dark chocolate chip truffle, and chocolate lollipop. You can buy one piece of chocolate if you want, but we have trouble walking out of here with anything less than a dozen. read more
