Before the current management it was pretty scummy and one had to wonder who was running that place. The last time I was at this 7/11 location I had very uncomfortable experience. This is my local 7/11 and I have never felt such a hostile environment before. The employee there which I don't the name of is very unhelpful. The soda machines have been broken for so long. My brother and i asked the manager about the soda machines but the manger just walked away. Not to mention the manager was also cursing and yelling at the employee but it made us very uncomfortable. I used to be a regular at this spot but I stopped going to this location and now go to the one on light house. It's way more friendly and welcoming. This location is very close to my house so this very disappointing. read more

One of the worst 7/11 I've ever been to. The one I used to live by in seaside was 50 times better. They've had the same beer at this location for four weeks still no price tag. They price it as Mexican candy and I have no idea why it would be 8.00 dollars for one beer We tried to get a pizza from them and they immediately stated they couldn't warm the pizza up. Tried ordering from this location from DoorDash and it went right down the street to the 7/11 down the street. The food in the hot food station is ALWAYS OLD I made the mistake of grabbing a pizza slice at 10pm when I got off work to eat without looking at it I went home it was so old and disgusting I can believe they would sell it. I also got taquitos three times in a row every single time it was super hard and old. I'm officially done. SCAM!!! me and my friend went there and got 5 things. drinks were 2 for 3 and the candy we picked out was 2 for 6. We picked out an extra candy that was 2 dollars plus change. As with other 7/11's in this area the Coconut water selection was abysmal. One brand, one disappointed Meg. Mur. There wasn't a line, the space was fairly orderly and the service wasn't bad. This is not a boring convenience store. There's always some some type of shenanigans afoot. And yes, I call shenanigans. My last three visits: A girl, drunk, telling her friend she knows her ex boyfriend still loves her and not his current girlfriend due to the previous night's activities. She goes into detail. Graphic detail. I'm just in line behind them buying coke to go with the bottle of Makers waiting at the casa. A man, telling the story about how the guy who just drove off owes him money, and how he didn't mean to cause a scene. He's so distraught over possibly causing a scene that he's causing a scene over it. Slurpee? 1.29. Irony? Free. The guy talking with his bro as they stand in line. After his buddy pays, his "surprise" at "forgetting his cash" is so poorly conveyed that I feel like I'm watching Hayden Christiansen act. Between the two of them, they take five minutes scrounging and counting out 3.38 worth of change;it's hilarious. The clever coin usage sparks a hearty, "Dude! You kept the quarters and dumped the change!" Ah, to be young again..... Minus two stars for it always taking so long to get through the line. read more

I have been shopping here for about 17 years and most of that time I have been very happy with everything about the store. It's a 7-11, they're always open, generally the people are nice and they have a nice variety of things people need. However, I was just told by the cashier that the store policy now is they have to give you a bag for your beer, for which you have to pay 25 cents, whether you want it or not. This is not directly related to the Monterey plastic bag ban. When that happened, I contacted the city and asked that they communicate with city vendors about the false notion they all seemed to have about some vague local or state law requiring bags for alcohol purchases. There is no such law, and the city agreed to communicate with everyone about it, and they did. So now most vendors in Monterey won't force you to leave the store with your beer in a bag. This is particularly important now that you have to pay for your bags. Well this particular 7-11 apparently doesn't care about the law, they seem to have some moral objection to anyone actually seeing a six pack of beer outside of its plain brown wrapper. God forbid some child see a can of beer, they'll turn into a serial killer or something, I guess. So I will be shopping at one of the many, many other vendors in the area that would be more than happy to sell me beer and not insult my moral fiber while making me pay for the privilege. read more

I know what you're thinking, it's just a 7-eleven. Not this one though. Today, for example, I walked in to grab a coffee around 10am. They usually bring down most of the coffee machines at 930am. But the gentleman working noticed I was hoping for a coffee (the blueberry coffee is that good!) and offered to make me a fresh pot! He wouldn't take no for an answer and in just a couple minutes I had a fresh cup of my favorite coffee. Oh, and only for a dollar thanks to 7-eleven rewards which may be the easiest rewards program to join. This place really cares about customer service and it's local customers! There is no Coney Island hot dog stand here, but if you want a tasty hot dog this is a good place to go. The reward program is way cool, because every now and then it's free when you get enough points. They have pizza and chicken wings too, but all I get is the two for three dollar hot dogs and they have a condiment bar, with chili, cheese, onions, peppers and relish, even sauerkraut. If you have more than $20 in lottery winnings, stay away from the middle aged African American woman at all costs. She complains that you are "taking all of the change" that they have in their register. Last time I checked, there is a sign on the door that says they are a licensed California Lottery Retailer. If cashing in a small amount like $20 seems to be a problem then maybe they should have their Lottery selling privileges revoked. Wonder who you'd have to call to get that ball rolling. read more
