Came here to pickup some quick frozen dinners to save money and got everything I needed for an affordable price. Employees were very helpful in finding items that we had trouble finding. Parking is easy (they have a lot) even though it's near downtown Monteray.

This review is for SUSAN I am a new, first time mom. I went through kidney failure shortly after my son was born, so while he's 9 months old, I am just now able to take him to busy, crowded places. I've always loved Trader Joe's for more than just their great products, but also their friendly staff. Watching a stranger bring a smile to your baby's face is a joy only mothers would understand. Thank you, Susan, for being so helpful and kind to me and my boy. You even gave him his very own name tag. This is more than grocery shopping -- this is community. Thank you, Susan. I hope Trader Joe's appreciates you as much as we do!

These almond croissants are fabulous! They are fresh and warm and when you get them, you leave them out overnight and when you wake up, you are astonished of how they have risen. They are better than a fancy bakery's almond croissant because they're warm when you bake them! --Girl, age 9

With inflation crazy right now it is nice to have a place to shop where I can buy nearly a weeks worth of food for under $100! Granted, I am only feeding one person, me, duh, lol, but it is refreshing. As a person living on their own, it is excellent to know I can provide for myself economically. I live near a Lucky's and the cost of groceries has gone up so much that what I used to be able to buy for $60-$70 easily goes over $100. Now, Trader Joe's maintains good quality, low cost, delicous food. This location has a parking lot that is a pain in the...well, you get it...but if you are patient and or go early you can avoid a hassle. I always enter this parking lot slowly and with patience. Only a few times I decided to NOT shop because the parking lot was a mess. The inside of this store is always clean and organized and stocked very well. Of course I have my favorites, as everyone does, especially the chicken breakfast sausage. And some of the prices have gone up, like bacon and yogurt, but I still prefer here over other grocery stores. Cheers everyone and happy yelping and shopping.

For the most part, Trader Joe's is not your normal grocery. They carry a lot of products you can't find elsewhere. I enjoy shopping at these stores, because of the fresh produce, bread selections, condiments, liquors, and their brand name products. So while vacationing in Monterey, we made a point of visiting a nearby TJ's to stock up on a few snacks and bottled water to have during our daily touristy outings. This place was extremely busy with a small, congested parking lot that almost made us change our minds about shopping here. But in the nick of time, we managed to make the stressful turn into the lot and discover a spot to park in. It was a bit of a shopping challenge maneuvering the crowds of determined shoppers, but the guy at the register was pleasant and made checking out a smooth and less stressful event than I expected. Getting out of the parking lot was the next, but thankfully last challenge we had to deal with upon exiting.....

I stopped by this Trader Joe's twice during my latest visit to Monterey since it was close to where I was staying. The parking lot at this shopping center seems to be crowed all the time, but that didn't matter to me since I walked over there. The inside of the store was neat and tidy during both visits. This store is slightly differently organized from the one back home, but still easy to figure out where to find things. I love how each of these stores have their own personal touches, such as the "Welcome to Monterey" sign painted on the wall near the check out area. Lines to check out weren't bad at all, very short wait. And the people working here were super nice, as is typical of Trader Joe's.

For the most part, going to most any restaurant was a waste of time and money. A better choice was to let them shop and choose at Safeway and then bring it all back to the Hotel. Our choices weren't all that nutritious over all, but it did reduce the drama and later cries of "I'm Starving"! My most pleasant surprise here was that my old California land line number was still linked to the Safeway Loyalty program. Past that, the combination of an unfamiliar store, and so many choices made this Safeway trip a fairly lengthy one. And later back at the Hotel, all was well.

Expired? He's not talking about food expiring. He's saying THE SALE PRICE expired. (And very rude about it). When did it expire? Oh! After midnight. Safeway, if you keep doing this, I will pass out fliers at the store to have people complain to government agencies. When you have a tag indicating the price, THAT IS THE PRICE! If you know you have expired sale prices, you take them down. You don't have someone wait in line, go up to pay for it, then tell them to pay a huge price, and in addition be terribly rude about it. What Safeway is doing is BLAMING THE CUSTOMERS for the staff and management's incompetence. It is ILLEGAL and against the law to show a sale price and then totally change and increase the price at the register. Your staff needs to know that treating customers this way is: 1) ILLEGAL (we can make some calls you'll get fined) 2) Extremely unprofessional and rude. This is the only store I've seen do this kind of conduct that is totally against the law.

Then after a lot of sneering and snideness a man came up from behind the counter to gruffly inform me that they are out of those containers and I will have to take they have. The girl knew, because I told her, that I wanted the cupcakes to remain attractive. So as she boxed them up I watched and she made a point of damaging a few. I should have told her shove them! What the hell is not understandable about wanting your carefully decorated baked goods to not get smear in the box?! Why was that so hard to understand?
