This is my favorite place to get bubble tea! I have been coming to this location for years and have never been disappointed! Their bubbles are always good and the teas aren't overly sweet. You save a little change paying in cash and when using the flock card, the 10th drink is free. Personally, I prefer this place over Bubble Island. Sweeting doesn't add extra sugars to their plain teas so when you ask for a flavor it's just the right amount of sweetness. **(Side note) The British milk tea at Sweeting is good. I don't typically get the powdered flavoring in my drinks but have tasted a couple that were blended well. I have tried the cream topping with black tea and milk tea and would recommend both. My go to is usually a black or green tea with a syrup flavoring. read more

Really good tea! Being as cold as it was, I needed a hot drink on the way to the game in a pinch, so I stopped here and it was exactly what I needed. Still haven't gotten any food orders, so I can't say anything about that. It's just a bit sketch to me because I don't see how they could get fresh ingredients (esp for the meat). But as for the bubble tea, I liked it. The tea itself is a lot better than the milk tea from other bubble tea places on campus. It's more customizable (you can pick sweetness level, which is amazing, as well as if you would like British style or Original). The black bubbles though, I'm not a fan. If I could have Bubble Island's boba with Sweetings' tea, that'd be pretty great. If you haven't been here since its remodeling (from Momo to Sweetology), I'd recommend you try it again. If you've tried Sweetology/Sweetings and didn't like it the first time, you should try it again and either get a different drink (personal favorite is original taro milk tea with 50% sweetness), or the same drink but different sweetness. read more

I go to Sweeting only for their drinks, because that's what they specialize in and what they do great imo. I would not recommend ordering their food items; their kitchen seems tiny so there's no way it's made in house or fresh. Regarding their drinks: love, love, LOVE that they allow you to customize anything! Too much sugar gives me a nasty headache so I appreciate the sweet treat once in a while that still tastes good without added sugar. The taro frostea with no added sugar is my favorite! I also like that there are many flavors of blended drinks. The boba here is much better than at their competitor's across the street. While across the street, I watched as my boba was scooped out of a pot (still warm) into my cup, which resulted in VERY squishy, tasteless things dissolving in my mouth. At Sweeting, there's actually a taste and texture to their tapioca! One thing I'd like this place to start doing is maybe have suggested combinations for their more unfamiliar additions, flavors, etc. read more

Cali transplant and newly Michigander here, just wanted to say I've come to terms that Michigan will never had authentic boba and it never will. Powdered boba is not real boba but sometimes you gotta deal with what you got. This location as changed names from the MomoTea but still serves the same items, but more somewhat hipster look. I'm surprised they serve the Taiwanese desserts (taro balls, red bean, mochi, etc). I'm used to seeing boba shops every block in Orange County with REAL tea. I'm talking bout 7 Leaves, Tastea, Tea Station, etc. Back in the days, we drank boba for lunch. Boba is one of those things where you drink only cuz there was nothing else to do after 10PM. Good place to go when you need to hang out with friends. There are plenty of choices, also you can make your own choice by adding bubbles and other add-ons, but my favorite is always the original milk-tea just because the taste is good. The noodle isn't impressive compared to other particular ramen restaurants. If you collect 5 flock stamps, you get one drink free, but if you buy combo, food with dessert or drink, you get no stamp, but you save little. read more

This place has the worse service ever. I ordered with cashier guy #1 and paid for a hot milk tea with boba and after waiting 30 minutes and seeing that my friends who ordered after me get their milk tea, I asked where my milk tea is at with cashier guy #2 (cashier guy #1 was right next to cashier guy #2 cleaning the counter). He said, "Sorry we forgot. Do you still your drink?" Of course I want my drink! I paid for it and waited 30 minutes for it! Once I got it from cashier guy #3 (cashier guys #1 and #2 were reorganizing the counter and desserts display), he gave me a boba straw, but then I found out that I didn't get any boba. When I told them I didn't have boba (boba costs extra by the way), cashier guy #3 told me "We actually ran out of boba. Sorry!" and did not do anything to fix the problem or give any compensation. Basically, they sold and charged me for extra boba that they knew they did not have and did not get me anything else in compensation for my 30+ minute wait and extra charge. 3 workers were working that shift and knew of my order messed up my drink. Don't let the amount of workers fool you (there were more than 5 workers present in the front). They don't know what they're doing. Not going back here again! read more

First off I order a few thing from here it was my first time here the potato twist it came out burned then i order the mochi fruit wrapped it came out to be old and smelly with a super sour taste I saw them in the back making it and they was smelling the fruit and tasted it and from the look the fruits were already went bad but they still put it in the mochi anyways. This place is dirty doesn't seem clean the stuff they put inside the drinks and to make the food doesn't seem clean nor does it seem safe. I went here because it seem like a nice place with a lot of good reviews but it turn out to be a let down I wouldn't recommend this to anyone it might give you food poising. read more

Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Service is always fast and for me, always correct too. If you dont like milk teas (like me), there's a lot of other options such as lemonade and blended drinks. Food is also good! The honeydew and lavender bubble tea are my favourite here. I also very much enjoy the strawberry mochi. Sweetings is a nice environment with a spacious and cute interior. However, there bubble teas are too bitter even with the 100% sweetness feature. Oh Lord-look out Sweeting, Sherri discovered you and she cannot wait to come back. This place is probably the most amazing place for Asian style drinks, and desserts. They also serve a limited number of dinners but I'd go more to hang out, have a speciality drink and/or dessert. I tried the curried chicken, and I have to say the curried sauce was pretty good. However, it was served over a "deep fried" type of chicken which wasn't super tasty. The rice was very bland and on the chewy side. Now the rolled ice cream is to die for. I got the strawberry and graham cracker flavors with slivered almonds on top. They only put one, yes one, strawberry in the ice cream which I thought was on the cheap side. I enjoyed watching the young man pound away at the ice cream to blend the flavors together and to ultimately make the rolls of ice cream. This has to be one of my favorite desserts now. Please, if you haven't tried it, go to Sweeting's and get cha some!!! The boboa tea was quite tasty with the rose flavor added. All this located in beautiful downtown Ann Arbor, MI. i just took a nap and dreamt that i was going to sweeting but someone was throwing a frat party but the owner was like cmon and order anyway so i did. anyways the frat party ppl left and i was just looking at the menu which looked different than usual. it said "tokyo" or something but i'm p sure sweeting is chinese? anyway then the dream changed and i was still in sweeting but it looked different. it wasn't a shop anymore; it was a pit (a nice one) with some stairs leading down on the perimeter of the pit in like a spiral. there was now also a sims 4 interface on myself. the owner is now also a polar bear. with a secretary for some reason. and my dream self is like. scared of this bear (which i could tell bcs of the moodlet) and also scared bcs i think the bear could read minds. and the bear was like hm. just don't steal anything. and there were some things i could steal but then i clicked on myself and there was an option to sleep to get rid of my weird mind spell that the bear had put on me so i did that. THEN i stole these jar-looking things like in fire emblem echoes. i stole it by dragging it to my inventory. then i start taking apart a bunch of the tables and chairs and making other things outta them for some reason? (sims 4 handiness skill) and then the polar bear gets really mad and starts breathing fire and the secretary is like get the FUCK out and protect this kid that exists now or whatever...so i do that. and now the pit is crowded for some reason with ppl fleeing......then the bear reads this one guy's sad emo thoughts as he was fleeing and stopped the rampage...so everyone came back down. then the bear says that the pit (and the corresponding sweeting) is basically a dreambubble...? there were a lotta ghosts lol. anyways that was the end of it until then i got notified of a butterfly soup (a game) update so i downloaded it and for some reason it mentioned characters from my dream.....? then i woke up. this dream was pretty fun and basically took everything i liked and mashed it together. the fact that sweeting even made the list was pretty incredible since most of the things referenced are tv shows and video games. but after careful consideration, it really is the best bubble tea place in the area. not that the bar is that high (bubble island tea is basically water and tapioca). i've been here a few times and tried the regular milk tea with tapioca and one of the british teas (served hot!) and it was all really good. they have a wide range of flavors. also, they do food!! i got lunch here way back when and the food was so good. i can't remember what i got but it had pork and rice....and in case it wasn't clear the food here is pretty asian. anyways the real kicker here is the atmosphere. don't mind my dream because the sweeting in my dream looked totally different. also i don't know the sweeting owner so all of that polar bear rampage stuff is fake too. sweeting in real life has a lot of natural light, and the light walls bounce it all around, which is extremely pleasant, especially in the winter. seasonal depression WHO? lastly, i'm pretty sure they play chinese music. those who know will go from :( to :), especially if you have cultural disconnect like me. those who don't still might like the music. i think it's pretty good. read more

Tried the grass jelly instead of the boba this time. It was actually pretty decent. Still too expensive though.

Sweeting is average... when we first ordered the person at the counter was helpful, however the Bubble Teas took a while to come out when they came out they tasted good not great but good (Bubble Island is better). A little disappointed with the drinks. I order the lavender milk tea with grass jelly and with every sip small green particles kept coming up. Like it was real grass. I had a hard time finishing my drink. Friend order the smoothie and the boba was over cooked. It also tasted like it was powered mixed. The dessert looked good but we didn't order any.
