    Tea time!

Top notch bubble tea spotNice, chill ambiance with lot's of delicious options, including some that are dairy free. Ordered the Brown Sugar Creme Brulee (Milk Tea) and it was so delicious. At 30% sweetness it was still quite sweet for me so I'm glad it wasn't any sweeter. My daughters split the Strawberry Slushy and enjoyed it. I was glad they didn't make a fuss about splitting their drink into two cups since they're small children and a medium would've been too much for each of them. Great tablet ordering system that's easy to use. It's also really nice you can customize to send specific instructions for your order.

From classic teas to fruity blends and specialty drinks, there is something for everyone at Tea Ninja. I went with a mango fruit tea with whole milk and boba. I ordered 25%, so it wasn't too sugary but still sweet enough and the mango flavor was great. The atmosphere at Tea Ninja is relaxed and welcoming, with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and a lively ambiance. The shop is brightly lit, and the décor has fun video game designs, making it a great place to socialize with friends or catch up on work. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. What more do you want from a boba spot?

Order at the kiosk. Ordered a mango slush with real mango and a chocolate Oreo slush topped with Oreos. Hope it's good. Lots of add-on items for the mango slush and the chocolate Oreo as well. The chocolate Oreo isn't bad. The mango slugs with the real mango is decent.

Place: This place is one of many boba places at AA. This place has a cute ninja themed boba shop. They are v covid friendly and at one point they gave a free boba to frontline workers at the peak of covid so that was super nice. Service: The service is really good. A lot of people enjoy coming here for their fruit smoothies! Food/price: The boba is around $5 and I usually get a smoothie boba. Audience: Great for families, friends, and kids. Recommend/tips? I would recommend! You must try all the boba shops that is your bucket list haha.

Updating my review -- with so many boba shops in a short radius in downtown, Tea Ninja fills a good niche with their lactose-free options AND vegan options. I truly don't think I've seen such expansive lactose/vegan offerings in all my boba shop frequenting in the US & abroad. So what about for folks, like me, who want all the lactose and dairy fat? Tea Ninja's got you. The business owners very graciously invited me back to try their new dairy option & it was spot on - half sweet is the perfect sweetness. IMO dairy milk really brings out and complements the tea so definitely not as water-y as a lactose-free option (sorry lactose intolerant folks!) I was also VERY pleasantly surprised by their macarons. I am a basic PSL gal and their pumpkin spice macaron was bomb. I'm going to be sure to get one next time again.

Got the mango slush with boba and paid extra for fresh mango. The slush was very watery and lacked good mango flavor. The actual boba was fresh and had good texture. With so many options nearby I won't be returning.

Tea Ninja is a great place to grab some boba tea! They are located on Liberty close to State Street. They have kiosks for ordering and paying, which takes the pressure off deciding which amazing tea I would like to order. There are so many delicious options! I always go with the Thai tea with mango popping boba. My son got the banana milk tea - it was amazing! I can't wait to go back to Tea Ninja. The staff is friendly and your order comes up quickly! There is indoor seating.

It was an accidental visit... I had group dinner plans, was walking around to kill some time and recalled reading about the milk tea shop that opened up... so I stopped by. It was around 6:50 pm, only one table was occupied and the place was empty, most likely either 1) students being on break and 2) there's two other milk tea shops stone throw away from here. I got the Ninja Milk Black Tea, 50% less sweet and since they were out of bubbles, went with lychee jelly. Typically they would up charge for selecting different toppings. One thing that I liked, their milk tea at 50% less sweet was the best, a lot better then other joints. Usually when I order at 50% less sweet, the tea would still be sweet. I'll be back to try other items on their menu. I wish them the best with so many milk tea shops that opened up in town, something is going to give. Until next time.

I went here with my family and it was my dads first time having bubble tea! Happy to say he walked away a new bubble tea fan. The place was adorable and the folks were kind and our tea was ready quickly. I lvoe bubble tea and I was visiting from Washington DC where we have some really great boba tea shops. I was disappointed in the number of caffeine free options here and the sweetness of the passion fruit yakult was overpowering. With so many other bubble tea spots within the same vicinity I'm curious to see how this place stands up against the others. Not sure I'd return before checking the other spots out in town.

My partner and I came here after we ordered from TK Wu across the street. We were the only ones when we walked in, and I love that they have a contactless kiosk for self ordering. I got an oolong milk tea with tapioca, pudding, no sugar and no ice. My partner did a pineapple slush with mango popping boba. The staff was friendly and efficient, and I love that they use the opportunity to address us by our names if we ordered on the kiosk. Our drinks were also accurate and exactly what we wanted and expected. They also have plenty of chairs and tables for people to hang out with their beverages. There's street parking available, or you can park at the deck on Maynard St across from HopCat. This chain is also consistent and similarly operated like the other Tea Ninja locations I've been to. I do recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for bubble tea and beverages. They have something for everyone.

Nice friendly staff and clean ambiance. Fun ninja theme for a more younger crowd. They have ordering stations for faster service. Menu is a bit confusing with all the flavors. Large cups look like a medium. I have visited other tea places that offer bigger cup sizes. I got a Taro and 2 Green Matcha tea. They were kinda watery tasting and warm. Not a go to bubble tea spot for me to even try again. I give it a 4/10.

As a bubble tea aficionado and proud Taiwanese American, I am very critical of my boba & what constitutes good boba. My friend Kelly and I learned that there were 3 boba places within a 1 block radius in downtown AA!! If Maynard Parking Lot was your center point, there'd actually be 4 boba places within a 1 block radius - we just found out about a newly opened one on State - but I digress! My point is, where were all these places when I was a student at Michigan? I would have loved seven options rather than only the two options I had - Bubble Island / Momo Tea (now called Sweeting). We decided to try all 3 (Tea Ninja, Chatime, & Ding Tea) of these places within one fell swoop - we got 2 drinks from each place - all different so no, we couldn't directly compare - but if you've had as much boba as we have had, you can tell when you're having quality boba. I also recognize that our order was a bit more complicated because we were two friends, who wanted to split two drinks, and because of COVID, we asked if they could put each drink it into two separate cups - half full - giving us 4 cups total. Tea Ninja was a bit confused at first, but after explaining it to them, they were able to satisfy our request despite one of our drinks being very difficult to split into two. I really appreciate their understanding & willingness to do this despite it being slightly inconvenient to keep us safe during pandemic times. We placed our order by calling them, then went inside to pick up the drinks and pay when it was ready. Tea Ninja ended up being my favorite place from all 3 of these locations, which is perhaps a bit surprising because Tea Ninja was founded in Chicago, whereas the other two places were founded in Taiwan! From Tea Ninja, we got 1) a rose milk tea (probably my favorite kind of milk tea) + boba and 2) a taro creme brulee milk + boba. Both ended up being my top 2 favorite drinks out of the 6 we tried that day! The rose was so fragrant within the milk tea & really added a nice element to the taste! The boba was so QQ & sweet, which is a must for boba! And the taro creme brulee, which I was anticipating was going to be too sweet (and I'm not a huge fan of too sweet things) ended up being the perfect sweetness and balance of strong taro flavor, plus a bit of a gritty texture which I loved, and creaminess from the creme brulee milk. I was so pleasantly surprised, this might've ended up being my favorite drink of the day! All in all, I would highly recommend Tea Ninja! Their cups/plastic might've been the "cheapest looking" of the three, but they were also the sturdiest. Additionally, and maybe most importantly, they had the best prices for what we order - each drink came with one topping without extra charge - which a lot of places don't do! I really appreciated that too! Next time I'm downtown and craving boba (which is always tbh), Tea Ninja would be the place to go - pending the new boba place I have yet to try on State Street!

So far, I have tried coco, chatime, and sharetea in A2, and, I have to say, Tea Ninja does not disappoint. Here are the ones I've tried (updated regularly): * Taro Creme Brulee Milk with boba -- fresh taro with the chunks and mashed texture. There is also the occasional bit of bruleed sugar in the drink as well. Enjoyed this quite a bit * Lychee slush with lychee jellies -- Since I love lychee, this is probably the best drink i've gotten from a bubble tea place (I used to prefer the strawberry blended ice from sharetea for my lychee fix, but this one is perfect (though the melted ice did have a slight weird aftertaste). Not for the sweet-intolerant. * Rose strawberry tea -- perfect balance of fruity and floral; the rose accents the taste and is not overpowering. Surprised by how much I liked this. * Lychee qq tea -- was hoping to get my lychee fix for a lower price, but the bitterness of the tea (which isn't much) made the jellies taste less sweet and got in the way of my sugar high. Good drink overall, but does not do the job of the lychee slush. * Peach Ice Jelly Tea - so good! On the sweeter side for a tea, but still has some bitterness to balance it out. The ice jelly is a nice touch, but I didn't notice any "peach pulp" as advertised on their menu on ubereats. * 3Q Milk Tea - pretty much your standard bubble tea with herb jelly & pudding. With the creaminess from the pudding and milk, I'll probably go down on the sweetness next time, since the combination made it almost sickly sweet. The Boba is on the softer side, which is my preference. Though if you put it in the fridge, it turns rather hard, making the center almost feel raw... I recommend drinking it fresh if you get boba. The drinks are also decently pricey, but not too different from other places in A2. Overall I continue to look forward to trying their other drinks!

I might actually buy coffee and tea as holiday gifts for my coworkers. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because the women's bathroom was not clean, customer service can be improved, and some music can really make the cafe more inviting. I made coupe of orders, one included dessert. I was handed the cake with no fork, had to ask for one. Wasn't given napkins and didn't bother asking. I might sound petty, but honestly the product can be great. However, customer service is what brings customers back. There needs to be proper training. If I'm going to spend money and do everything myself and ask for everything that should be the basic/ standard, then I might as well make my coffee at home. It terms of music, I think it would amplify the space. When I stopped by the cafe, I was the only one in the main space and it was dead silent and all I can hear is the buzzing of the cooler that had the water and pop/ drinks. Some light music in the background would've blocked that noise. I only share this because I would love to see this business thrive.

The building is historic and also houses a coworking space which has a lot of really great amenities. The vibe inside the coffee shop is cozy but modern, and I loved the decor. They also had some really great merch - the tote bags were calling my name! I ordered the cardamom fig latte and Nate got a golden milk latte. Most recently I came here for a meeting, ordering a vanilla latte and a sweet potato hand pie to nibble on since I hadn't eaten yet. The description of the latter sounded so good, sweet potatoes with black beans and a few other veggies, wrapped up in flaky pie dough. The filling, however, was mostly pureed, giving it more of a baby food consistency which I didn't love. The flavor was good though but I couldn't get over the mushy texture. The black beans weren't pureed in but were few and far between (I think I maybe counted 2 or 3?). In addition to my hand pie I also ordered a piece of the billionaire's shortbread but they didn't ring it up/prepare it. By the time I realized it (I had to wait for my hand pie to be heated up) it was only a few minutes before close so I didn't bother going back up to the counter to reorder. IDK if they were just in a hurry to close or genuinely didn't hear my order but it was a bummer since it did look great. The vanilla latte, however, was quite good. And for a coffee shop that's most important. And what they lacked in substantial food options they did make up for in fun, seasonal drink specials and a few sweet treats like cookies and the aforementioned shortbread. The space is very cute, as well, and made for a really comfortable meeting location. So overall I did like my visit here. I just won't be rushing back here if I'm feeling peckish. But for a caffeinated pick me up and a nice place to meet or chill, this definitely fits the bill.
