Interior - Large Empty Space?
Albert T.

We decided to drop by this CoCo Fresh location since we were in the area to pick up some food. As we walked in, the first thing we noticed was that the Interior seemed to be really empty. On the left side of the store is a large empty gap that felt kind of strange. They could definitely add some tables or other furniture to fill the store up a bit. Anyways, since we had ordered online, our order was waiting for us at the counter. We only got one drink to try this boba shop out: Double Delight, Large, Less Ice, 50% Sweet ($5.70) - This drink comes with both pudding and boba. The drink itself is extremely sweet at 50%, probably matching 100% sweet or even more at other boba shops. I think they might use condensed milk as the sweetener as the drink has a distinctive milky caramelized taste. The primary taste is the milky sweetness and I could barely detect any tea at all over it, leading to an unbalanced drink. The boba added to the drink is not good. All the boba is quite hard, but some bubbles are harder than others. In addition, the size is very inconsistent, with some being normal sized, and some being almost like mini boba. I wonder if they mixed multiple batches together or something for them to turn out like that. At least the pudding was good, but it's not like they make it in house. Bathrooms - Two single rooms, one for men and one for women. I think this CoCo Fresh location is inferior to the one in North Campus. I don't see a point in visiting here again given that there is better boba just ten minutes away.

Taro Milk Tea with Sago, Milk Tea with Coconut Jelly

My favorites are Taro Milk Tea with Sago, and regular Milk Tea with Coconut Jelly. My typical order for either is large, regular ice, 30% sweet. So good! I love that you can taste the actual tea in the milk tea, and would consider getting this 0% sweet if I wanted it to be even more tea like. The coconut jelly adds a sweet chewiness. The taro is smooth and sago super sweet. Honestly even 30% is super sweet to me. Fun little sweet treat when I'm doing other things around Westgate plaza.

Quick service and my drink was amazing! Probably one of the best boba places I've been to in a2. Overall clean place. Not a lot of seating though.

CoCo was the first good boba option in Ann Arbor way back in 2019. But with so many more central options now I found myself visiting it less and less. Well thankfully it's now one of my go to options again now that they've opened up shop literally down the road from me! This location is very nice and spacious with bright and friendly vibe! I usually order a large jasmine milk tea and no surprise, they are always consistent in flavor and boba texture. Super excited to have this so close by! Service is always beyond friendly and welcoming! And I love the CoCo statue right by the door!

Ive been to other CoCo location multiple times but this location was not as good. I ordered my usual mango smoothie with tapioca and sago. The mango was so weak and so it basically tasted like milk. Maybe it was a fluke? I'll stick with the one on Plymouth.

Worst bubble tea I've ever had

Ordered a normal strawberry milk tea. No strawberries. No black bobos. They gave me bland plain milk tea with mini pearls. It's the equivalent to drinking soggy cereal through a straw. Absolutely awful.

New location for this franchise. I still prefer spots with freshly brewed, but I have visited them in NYC and now Westgate (a busy strip mall off Maple). Everyone liked their drinks ranging from matcha, tea with milk and boba, and mango boba. They will adjust your level of sweetness starting from 30, which was more than sufficient for me.

Another Coco location has opened up in town! In addition to their location in North Ann Arbor, they've opened another store on the west side of town nearby the Westgate shopping plaza. Coco is my favorite bubble tea store - they've always been consistent in flavor and with boba cooked to perfection. Other stores can be hit or miss, with boba too soft or tough and undercooked. I stopped by briefly on the day of their soft opening and ordered my usual, taro milk tea with sago. Service was quick and my drink delicious as always. The interior decor is cute and simple...with a life size Coco mascot for completion! Will be stopping by here in the future when I'm in the area!

My favorite place for fruit flavor tea. They always get my drink done fast. No problem to find a parking here at all.

Boba tea is top notch here The taro milk tea was tasty and they put in a ton of boba. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful if you have questions.

I think Coco is the best milk tea brand in town, when considering taste, price and location together. So glad about this second store!! Look at those cute decorations that the first store doesn't even have! Got my drink very quick and it would be nicer if the online ordering system works at this location too.

Triple delight

I got the mango slush with popping strawberry boba at 50% sweetness and 30% ice and my 9 year old loves it and keeps wanting to go back.

Cute winter cups! Loved the boba rolling another boba down the snowy hill hahah…read more Came right at opening at 12pm. The employee was friendly! Love my order of milk tea with boba. The large doesn't quite feel so large :0p But everything always tastes so great from the milk tea flavor to the boba texture and taste!! Nothing beats CoCo's!! They also gave free cute boba stickers, one per a customer :0)

It was a snowy afternoon so the customer volume was likely lower than usual at the shops of The Courtyard in Ann Arbor. The suite had a bright orange awning and about ten tables of various sizes for seating. Several power outlets were available along one wall for students to plug in their electronics and hang out because this business was across from a large college campus. Two self-service kiosks were at the counter where you could place an order. A menu board was hanging on the wall to the left for quick reference. Just drinks were served here as no food was offered. The categories were milk tea, fruit tea, slush, chocolate, yakult, macchiato, fresh milk, and tea. Six recommended choices with photos were listed at the top of the board. I selected the second one which was the Tropical Special. This drink was from the fruit tea category which was likely where I would have made a selection anyway. Passionfruit green tea with pearls and coconut jelly were the ingredients. I requested light ice and normal sweetness. The tea flavor wasn't strong, and the pearls were chewy and clumped together on the bottom of the cup. The jelly was extra filler that added more texture. The price was at least two dollars less than what I would have paid for a similar product at one of my local haunts. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my experience at CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice.

Wow this place was packed!! Locals must really like it…read more There was a long line for the ordering kiosks (there are 2 of them). And only 1 employee making all the drinks (she did a good job)! There is a good amount of seating inside with colorful decoration of pac man. I ordered the Mango Milk Tea with black tea and boba. It was reasonably priced at $5 something. The boba was chewy and milk tea with mango syrup was good! It was very refreshing on this 94 degree weather day! I would come back! Oh also, when I asked what kind of milk they use (for my fellow lactose sensitive peeps), she said Creamer. Not sure if it's non-dairy creamer but it sat well in my stomach thankfully!

Refreshing cold drink for a hot day! It was my first time at Tea Ninja (we really got a lot of boba…read moreoptions in Ann Arbor over the past several years!) so I ordered a go to - Taro milk tea. It's easy to order on a kiosk, and they do all the customizations (ice, sugar level, toppings). I got a medium iced Taro milk tea, 30% sweet, regular ice, add lychee jelly. It was good! Hit the spot. The level of sweetness and ice was just right. Lychee jelly was the perfect amount of chewy. The flavor of the tea was good, and actually tasted like tea. I didn't ask, but given the tea taste, I'm thinking this taro has caffeine (at other places, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't). I didn't get much of the taro flavor coming through though.
