Really enjoyed this boba tea spot! First time coming here and was soooo happy I did. The prices are affordable and the drink was amazing. When I go to boba spots for the first time I usually like to try their brown sugar milk teas. And the one here was delicious. The Jonas had a good taste and it wasn't too sweet. The cup size for the price was good. Also I felt they had a good amount of boba. It's a cute small place to just chill out and the music is good. When in the area I will come again.

One of the best boba experiences for me! I ordered cream brulee flavor with oat milk and brown sugar! Very rich in flavor and yummy! Easy contactless way to order. Nice vibes, fast service. I recommend it for sure!

This is by far the best boba in Ann Arbor (and maybe in Michigan). The drinks are always good and high quality. I usually get the Crème brûlée boba drink with cheese foam and it's truly addictive. The service is always quick and the bobaristas are very kind. I like that they have high quality fruit and milk drinks. Their blended grape drink with passion fruit popping boba is probs Lu my favorite. The store ambiance is good too and has a cute place to take pictures. Definitely my favorite spot in Ann Arbor!

Lemon yakult with coconut jelly and strawberry popping boba

Was looking for a lower cal option to meet my bubble tea craving and saw they had yakult on the menu. I ordered the lemon yakult 30% sweet and either this stuff is incredibly sweet by default or they didn't follow the order? They got the rest of my customizations right though so I'll give them the credit. It tastes good it's just super sweet. The taro milk tea is *incredible.* Super creamy and the boba add amazing sweetness and texture. Mmm I'm mad I didn't order that and got it for my boyfriend instead.

We stopped by Moge Tee after lunch across the sweet for our weekly boba fix. Only one drink this time, since the last time we went, we thought the boba quality was quite poor. This time it was much better. Da Hong Pao Bubble Milk Tea, Large, 70% Sweet, 50% Ice ($6.45) - This tea is extremely fragrant and fruity, with a taste that really lingers on the tongue well after drinking. 70% sweet was a little too much for me; I normally get 50% at most boba places but I misclicked here. The drink comes with boba; the order kiosk and snackpass both still allow you to add boba for extra cost - don't get tricked! Moge Tee uses one of the smaller varieties of boba (but not the mini boba) and it's cooked almost perfectly with a great qq texture on the exterior and a slightly firmer interior. This is one of the better boba textures in Southeast Michigan, at least on this visit. On my last visit, I wrote a note to myself that the boba was way too hard and that I would be hesitant to go again. Either they've improved or they are inconsistent. Hopefully it is the former because the location in Lansing is consistently good. There are tons of boxes of supplies piled up in the dining area so maybe this location still has to hit its stride?

Taro milk tea

Taste, texture, flavor, price, everything... ordered the taro milk tea (my favorite at any other tea place) and it's super chalky and thick, not smooth at all and the flavor is awful, tastes like some horrible form of puppy formula or something. So disappointed, don't waste your money (especially with their prices)... coco tea down the road is much better in my opinion.

Cheese Foam Strawberry Tea (Slush)

It's great if you like fruity boba! It's like a smoothie with cream cheese foam. Great for warm days! They also use snack pass. Employees were friendly and service was quick. Pretty clean area with seating inside and some outside as well.

Just example of not very clean window/glass, plus the trash can that you will use if you need to.

Bubble tea is fine, but I go to tea place not just for a cup of tea but the experience and atmosphere. This place is the dirtiest bubble tea places that I've been to. The glass/window is so dirty, that it looks like the store just opened before it had a chance to clean. There is not even a trash can that the customers can use inside. You have to walk outside to use a public trash can, not very friendly for Michigan winter. In additions, there are piles of cartons lying around there, not the most pleasing displays for your eyes while sipping your bubble tea!

I'm fully behind on all the boba spots in town now! But Moge tea was just what I was missing. I hadn't had a cheese foam drink in a while so was super excited to try Moge. Online order and pick up was super convenient and easy. The interior of the shop is super cute and such a chill vibe. Folks behind the counter were friendly! I got a Matcha milk tea and an oolong tea with milk foam for later (don't judge lol). Both were really delicious and I LOVED the cheese foam. Would definitely be back!

A spot for boba tea on Plymouth Road (past North Campus, in the Kroger/McDonald's strip mall/plaza)! But also, less than a mile down from Moge (and closer to campus) is Coco Fresh Tea & Juice, which is still my favorite and the BEST boba tea around, so I'm hard pressed to find any reason to pick Moge over Coco EVER when they're so close to one another! I've probably passed Moge since they opened a few years ago over 100 times and only recently decided to try it just because my friend and I had never tried it (opting instead for Coco ALWAYS) and the result was *fine*. They're definitely a bit more Americanized with an intentionally designed shop space for cute, cozy IG shoots and more "aesthetic" packaging, but true, delicious boba doesn't need all these extra smoke and mirrors. Additionally, boba tea originates from Taiwan and Coco is a Taiwanese boba tea shop that has then expanded into the US. Moge Tee, on the other hand, originated in China, so make of that what you will! But as a Taiwanese American, I have found that anytime I try a new boba place, I can instantly tell whether it's one that has originated from Taiwan or from elsewhere, whether it be right here in America, China, or what have you. It truly makes a difference, as bizarre as that might sound!

I've been little by little making my way through all the boba places in town and Moge Tee was next. I ordered my standard, the brown sugar milk tea (by which I base all my comparisons) and the Hawaiian milk tea at 50% sweet to try something new. First off, the cups are very cool. But they did not come with boba straws. They have lids that you're supposed to sip from but I found that to be awkward to get the boba/drink ratio I'm used to. Luckily I had a stash of straws at home so I was able to rectify this. Maybe they have them in store but in our delivery they were not included. The Hawaiian tea is described as a "tropical drink crafted with a combination of special milk tea and freshly brewed, tropical fruit flavored Hawaii tea with tapioca." Exciting, right? Well, it was very very bland. I tasted very little tea and absolutely no tropical fruit. And 50% sweet seemed to have been interpreted as 0% sweet as it had no sweetness whatsoever. So disappointing. The brown sugar tea was ok. Also just not very flavorful? It tasted more like a regular milk tea and not that kind of molasses-y brown sugar flavor that I expect with a brown sugar tea. So yeah. Cool packaging, easy to navigate ordering, but the flavors just left something to be desired.

This place is a new bubble tea and OMG the packaging is so cute. You can probably reuse the cups and a great to go cup. When I try a new bubble place I always get milk tea and it really shows the quality of the place. It is convenvient for people who have cars who cannot find parking on central campus. Plus it is nearby the groceries store. Run your errands and end with bubble tea. Milk tea was good and would get it again!

Taro Tofu Pudding

Another boba shop? When I was an undergrad at Michigan, there were only two below mid boba shops around. Suddenly, there's like 10 and Moge Tee is apparently the newest add to the list. This location is convenient as it is close to the Kroger near North Campus in the same location where Espresso Royale used to be. TARO TOFU PUDDING 仙气鲜芋奶花 (MEDIUM) - 5.50 If you look at the description of this drink, it's probably a snide roast towards Coco (the boba shop closest to Moge) as it says, "Real Taro (Not the purple powder one other store sell)." Lol. Anyway, while it is pretty pricy, I'm glad they at least use real taro here! I feel like all the other boba places in Ann Arbor use "purple powder" instead. I also think the tofu pudding was soft and a great topping instead of tapioca. Unfortunately, even though I got 0% sugar, I found that this drink was much too sweet (I don't have a super sweet tooth, FYI) for me and was unable to finish the whole thing as it left a sour feeling in my mouth (like the taste in your mouth when you had WAY too much sugar. The interior is minimal and spacious, but it looks like any other boba shop. Unique take on drinks with definitely high quality ingredients. I'd probably get something else next time - a drink that isn't as sweet, probably.

It was a snowy afternoon so the customer volume was likely lower than usual at the shops of The Courtyard in Ann Arbor. The suite had a bright orange awning and about ten tables of various sizes for seating. Several power outlets were available along one wall for students to plug in their electronics and hang out because this business was across from a large college campus. Two self-service kiosks were at the counter where you could place an order. A menu board was hanging on the wall to the left for quick reference. Just drinks were served here as no food was offered. The categories were milk tea, fruit tea, slush, chocolate, yakult, macchiato, fresh milk, and tea. Six recommended choices with photos were listed at the top of the board. I selected the second one which was the Tropical Special. This drink was from the fruit tea category which was likely where I would have made a selection anyway. Passionfruit green tea with pearls and coconut jelly were the ingredients. I requested light ice and normal sweetness. The tea flavor wasn't strong, and the pearls were chewy and clumped together on the bottom of the cup. The jelly was extra filler that added more texture. The price was at least two dollars less than what I would have paid for a similar product at one of my local haunts. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my experience at CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice.

She explained that the reason why our drink/desserts the day before weren't that sweet was because "they had just made the jelly before serving us and it didn't have time to properly soak" or whatever. Okay and....? The first thing I noticed when I walked in was this lovely sign that said "we are more than happy to remake your item if you are not satisfied". Tell me why the girl on the phone the day before made no acknowledgement of this whatsoever!!! That is literally what we were asking for and she couldn't even acknowledge it..... I even had to point this sign out to the owner when I was chatting with her. So all in all, they rectified the situation. But man was it a struggle and journey to get there. What an easy and simple solution that took wasted energy to get to. I don't know when or if I will return anytime soon.

That intrigued me enough to revisit and try the drink out this past week. Thai Milk Tea, Small w/ Boba ($6.40) - As I was ordering, I was told that the sweetness couldn't be adjusted since the the tea was premade and mixed with sweetener. It's a little unfortunate, but it is what it is. On the first sip, the tea first starts with a somewhat dairy forward flavor, but immediately follows that up with an extremely roasted, smoky and somewhat astringent flavor of a very strongly brewed tea. About half a second later, an extreme sweetness floods the mouth but helps to balance out some of the smoky astringency. I'm not sure how they get it to be so smoky - I regularly brew Thai tea in an espresso machine and I've never gotten it to be so strong before. It's also much smokier than any Thai tea I've had in restaurants. The sweetness is a bit too much for me. After sipping a bit, I decided to save the rest for later and add some fresh brewed Thai tea to temper the sweetness down a bit. The boba this visit is a big improvement over my previous visit. This time, it's not rock hard; instead, the boba has a decent chew on the exterior while retaining quite a bit more firmness in the center. I found the boba to be a bit on the lumpier side and a little inconsistent in shape but it's not bad. Drink Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 I also asked for a small sample of the black tea. This is also pre-sweetened, probably on the order of 25% or 50% vs. a fully sweetened drink as compared to other boba shops. For my tastes, it actually right on the dot: not too sweet, which allows some of the natural tea fragrance to really be at the forefront of the drink without being drowned out. I honestly would get this tea as a milk tea without any additional sweetener added. Bobalee is a first mover into Ypsilanti. It's a very well run business, with friendly staff and great ambiance. As I mentioned in my previous review, this is a business that's worth supporting. Bathrooms - Single unisex room in the back.
