I always order via the app or do the group order at work. Whatever the case, I usually have good experiences with pick up and salad customizations. I did once have an issue but got it resolved through customer service (via app not at the store). From what I can see, it's efficient and clean. In the spring and summer months especially, the line is super long and out the door. But usually the pace is good. If you're in the area, a good lunch option. read more

I decided to go to Sweetgreen for lunch today since I was in the office. I went around noon, and there was a decent line out the door, but it moved pretty fast. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. They were out of croutons, so the gentleman preparing my bowl asked if I'd like something else instead. I chose the parmesan crisps. When I got to the register, the associate--Karina--charged me for the parm crisps. I kindly explained that the gentleman told me they were out of croutons and offered a replacement without mentioning any additional cost. Karina told me that regardless of what was said, I still had to be charged the $1.50, even though the upcharge was never disclosed. She then offered to remake the $15 salad without the crisps, since I didn't want to pay for something I was never informed about. I asked her, "So you'd rather waste a whole salad than just waive the charge?" Instead of comping the $1.50, she removed it--but then added a $0.60 charge, insisting that I still needed to be charged something. At that point, I gave the salad back because the situation didn't make sense at all. The establishment was out of product. An employee offered a substitution. Yet now I'm being charged for it and having to argue about it during my lunch break, after waiting ten minutes in line. Karina was being combative, holding up the line over a $1.50 charge. She then proceeded to make another buffalo chicken salad--which was also incorrect. So instead of taking a small loss, she wasted $30 worth of product. Honestly, it was all unnecessary nonsense. This was the worst experience I could've imagined, especially since I was really craving Sweetgreen. I hadn't had it in a while and wanted to try the new ripple fries--which ended up being cold and basic. Karina's behavior completely ruined the experience. You just lost a customer. read more

I usually order my food via doordash for a law firm I am working at. The app doesn't allow you to state if you want the dressing med or lite and they provide little cups of the dressing which does the salads no justice at all, so I walk to this location to make this request in person. I had a hiccup with one worker who was very rude but now I work with Gabriel, and he is always attentive and smiling willing to help. I appreciate him recognizing me and being a team player. Thank you, Gabriel. read more

I just wanted to say that these guys are great! I had an issue with the app not giving me an option to select "no cut" for wraps and I spoke to Leti who offered to flag my orders going forward and make sure that all my wraps aren't cut. Carnivore visits Sweetgreen for the first time. There are 939 Sweetgreen locations in 17 states and DC. States with the most: NY 250, CA 154, MA 127. The first time I ever visited a Sweetgreen was in downtown Washington DC in April 2022. Temperatures hit 89 degrees the first days of our week stay, and this place was only a block away. First time wife and I shared a guacamole greens salad, but with balsamic vinaigrette. Dish came with sliced chicken for $11.95. Wife gave me all the red onions, while we both fought for the guacamole. Took it back to our hotel, remembering to bring plastic utensils, with salad dressing on the side in containers. Second time wife got the Chimichurri chicken dish, while I got the Harvest Bowl, which came with chicken. The chimichurri sauce was way too sweet and spicy. The Harvest Bowl raw kale didn't blend well in taste with the offered combination. Forgot to substitute mixed greens for the raw kale, and red onions for the blue cheese, and had to toss them. Build yourself salads start at $9.95. No added cost for wild rice and mixed greens. $1.50 for sliced egg, $3.25 for sliced chicken, $0.50 for tomatoes, $0.50 for sweet potatoes. I take their standard salads and substitute mixed greens or romaine for the raw arugula or raw kale, and parmesan cheese for blue cheese, or goat cheese. Limited indoor and outdoor seating, with maybe four tables, each seating two or three people. If you want a seat you may have to hope the stranger already seated is charitable enough to share a table with two old farts. Closed on weekends and after 6pm on weekdays. It's that kind of neighborhood. There are 23 Sweetgreen locations in the metropolitan area of DC in Yelp, almost as many as the 28 McDonald's locations. No overlap of customers. read more

I work by this location so I've gone a few times to grab a salad. It's a small location so i can't say i've ever eaten inside but my pick up/ to-go orders go smoothly. The staff and very friendly and they have a good pick up system given the busy location. read more

Aside from the small tables in a cramp setting (next to the drink station/trash can) which forces strangers to sit together, the dine in worked...as with my Create My Own Salad. I'm all for the locally sourced & fresh ingredients, so no complaints here. The station of ingredients could use better cleaning & separation. Employees weren't engaging, yet keeps the line moving...perhaps. I like the To-Go/Pick Up concept as there's a huge shelf as soon as you walk in for customers to pick up quickly & keep it moving. read more

First time at a Sweetgreen and I loved it. Salad was made to perfection. The new steak option was amazing!!! Hope they come to upstate NY. read more

I am a regular, eating here 1-2 times per week. It's a great concept, allowing you to tailor your meal to the feeling of the day. Lots of locally sourced, healthy options. I almost always order ahead to avoid the line. Choose from a salad or grain base, up to 10 core toppings, and then a host of a la carte selections ( each with accompanying cost). They have some fun dressings as well. Vegetarian's nirvana but plenty for the sensible carnivore as well. But if you are looking for a fried piece of pork, head elsewhere, This is a fast casual place - not a date spot! read more

Awesome lunch/dinner spot if you wanna mix-in some clean eating to your weekly routine......or if you're direly feeling the need to quiet that naughty inner-symptomatic "id/ego" voice....suggesting that you to drive to KFC or Popeye's for lunch instead! Sweetgreen is an amazing place, with their own unique spin on clean and healthy eating. The concept of local sourcing the produce, meats and seasonal vegetables is the big plus and seller about Sweetgreen. There are a plethora of toppings from all kinds of seasonal vegetables, cheeses, proteins like tuna/chicken/shrimp and more......as well as all types of nuts, natural fruit and berries to keep your salad world, vegetarian/vegan monotony and healthy eating journey exciting. If you are like me....barely hanging on to your New Year's resolutions to eat better, maybe shed a few pounds and/or need food choices that meet the nutrient needs of fad diets of any kind.....from Paleo to Atkins, South Beach, the Dolce Diet and beyond....this place got you covered! My "go-to" salad is the: ** Kale Caesar -- shredded kale + chopped romaine, tomatoes, shaved parmesan crisp, roasted chicken, fresh lime squeeze, and killer Caesar dressing!....All in a bowl that is barley 400+ calories and definitely filling --close to 2 servings. This salad does it for me every time! Today, I tried a new menu item called the Miso Chicken Salad Bowl. It was outstanding! ** Miso Chicken --organic kale + organic spinach, quinoa, carrots, shredded red cabbage, root vegetables, roasted chicken & spicy miso dressing. Definitely, two thumbs up! I am still working on experimenting with other salads and grains....as to I am like a picky, stubborn kid when it comes to eating all my vegetables! Overall 5 Stars!.....A great concept and spin on eating your greens. The food is local farm sourced, high-quality and the customer service is very friendly! You can tell that high standards and quality drives this place first and foremost when it comes to the produce and preparing their goods. As for their Prices ($$).....Ummmm!!??....Honestly, let's just say....I'm still adjusting to it. It is still something I kind of snarl at (with the stink-face).....when it comes to paying $8-$12 bucks during lunch for a salad and we haven't even added a drink or side yet?! LOL. But, Hey! You can't put a price on your health and eating good. You get what you pay for at Sweetgreen...literally!! And, that is quality food and a good "euphoric" feeling that you are doing something right for yourself. #HealthIs WealthPeople! read more

Maybe this is sad to say, but I LOVE Sweetgreen. I'm continually impressed with how yummy each of their salads are. And whenever I order ahead of time for pickup, it's always ready when I get there, even if I'm a few minutes early. Super convenient. And the options are pretty healthy--with detailed info about calories and nutritional content available for each thing. Vegan and gluten-free options about, and it's all really customizable so you can make pretty much any dish work for your tastes and dietary restrictions. My only two gripes are the price (although $12 is unfortunately pretty standard for lunch in DC now) and the weak rewards program ($9 for every $99 spent but your progress resets every couple months...) read more

Being from LA, i used to always see and hear about sweet green. I tried It once there, but I did it all wrong and built my own salad and It was mediocre at best. Apparently I'm not Innovative when It comes to salad creation. Buuuut people always speak so highly of this place so I decided to give It a shot when I was looking for a place to eat. I'll preface this review with this info: I am not a healthy eater. My motto is, if It ain't fried, I don't want It lol. However I do make some exceptions. Mainly the peach and burrata salad caught my eye because well, cheese. Lol I love burrata. Honestly I didn't really pay attention to the rest of the ingredients when ordering. I don't really like salad, tomatoes or fruit in my salad, but this one blew me away. I didn't even notice I was getting actual nutrients as I wolfed It down. The salad comes in at 450 calories and according to the menu has Peaches, burrata, tomatoes, red onions, basil, roasted almonds, organic mesclun, shredded kale, balsamic vinaigrette. I'm not sure what mesclun is but this salad was delicious! And It wasn't cheap, but neither is anything else so hey. Would return when I'm feeling #healthy read more

This is possibly the most centrally located Sweetgreen in DC to be hit by lunch timers and tourists alike. The line is almost always out the door, if not around the corner. I am literally the last person to try Sweetgreen, because I had two main prejudices: The super long line. The price. The first problem can be overcome either with a mobile order or avoiding the lunch rush. The second issue is not an issue, because I didn't know how big their portions were. I ended up getting two lunches for one price. The combinations are so original that they have led to million copycat recipes that people swear by. I don't know how frequently they change their menu, but they seem to have seasonal options to look out for. The freshness and variety of the ingredients, the speed of service, creativity of combinations, customization of dressing amount.. No wonder why they are so successful! read more

Averaging out my first 2 reviews and I'll continue to do so after each visit so chances are, this will keep going up. First of all the service was horrible . This is on 17th st in Washington DC.They looked like they were all high . There was one young lady fixing the orders told my friend "hey you what you getting " then half of the orders were wrong . The plates looked like the food was just thrown on the plates . Mine was missing the avocado and the guy just smashed it all in my plate I was confused because in the picture there is half an avocado just on the side . And to top it all off I go to the bathroom and the "manager on duty " is banging on the door telling me to get out and off my phone calling me girl . I had multiple layers on since it's just my second visit to DC so it took me some time to get dressed. When I went to ask who the manager or supervisor was some guy said he was and then the woman that was telling me to get out of the bathroom stated she was the manager. As I proceeded to tell them what the issues were the girl that threw our food together was yelling and screaming in the food prep area talking about she don't need this job and she don't get paid enough . And so on . So they offered to give me my money back however they took my name and phone number instead which leads me to believe that neither were so called managers . I wouldn't return to this establishment oh and the salmon was cold ....... read more

In sum: paltry portions of the good stuff. Just visited this location for the first time and ordered a fish taco (a bowl of arugula with fish on top) for lunch. I also asked to add extra broccoli (for extra cost). I order this dish at least once a week from other locations in the area, so I can safely say this: my order had the tiniest piece of fish that I ever got from any other Sweetgreen (roughly half the normal size). Same went for the extra broccoli. I'm not sure whether this had something to do with the fact that they were almost out of the fish at that time (the container where they keep the fish looked empty from where I was standing), but I was very disappointed. I paid over $14 for what amounted to little more than a bowl of arugula. Really doubt I'll ever go back to this location. read more

I went here after a dentists appointment next door. I've not been to a sweetgreen before and while the staff wasn't aware of this, it would have been nice to not have been rushed through the line. I had looked at the online menu while I was in line and decided to get a custom, so it took a minute. I get that it's the lunch hour and it's busy but my goodness. Also, an extra dressing is not you catching an attitude and filling up one of the already tiny containers halfway. And not for nothing, the customers were...different. I know you were in a rush to Instagram your 20 dollar salads, but wow. Ya'll tell fat people to eat more salads, so I got a salad and went through hell, so I'll pass on this one. I'll just stick to the McDonald's around the corner and be fat and happy, or the Chop't nearby if I feel like I want to eat right for the day. read more

Bottom Line: Fresh made to order salads so don't let the confusing address deter you from grabbing a healthy meal at this Farragut Square location The most important thing to know about this sweetgreen location is that the entrance is located on I (eye) St., NW. This sweetgreen is located on the ground floor of a large building and for some reason 17th St. NW is the official address but the entrance to sweetgreen is on I (eye) St. NW next to Wicked Waffle and Loeb's NY Deli. Like every other assembly line concept eatery, you can either get a salad from their menu or create your own salad. You can add protein to your salad and even get a piece of bread if you want some carbs to fill you up. The line can be daunting but it does move pretty fast, even if its all the way to do the door. Another important thing to know about sweetgreen is that they don't take cash. Either you can pay with your card or their app. read more

Small portions, very overpriced (given the nonexistent portion size), but the worst part is the bad service attitude. I love sweetgreens and I'm glad I have the pleasure of reviewing this location as well. The food here is excellent as you'd expect of any sweet green. I'm a regular here and come her 1-2 times per week for the past year or so and always get the kale caesar salad - it's sooo good I can't get enough and love how close it is to work. I'm leaving a negative review because of a few experiences lately that left me questioning whether to go back or not. In fact, it motivated me to make a Yelp account just to leave this review. Today I ordered the kale caesar for lunch per usual. It's important to note that the main draw to this salad for me is the lime squeeze -- when they're out of lime (like one day last week) I'll order a different salad because it makes that much of a difference to me. After ordering the salad I saw the workers behind the counter remove the limes to replenish because they just ran out. The woman helping me asked if I want "lemon instead". I said "no, I want lime." She said "ok they're cutting more in the back" and I assured her I'll wait. As she finishes preparing the salad (with no lime) she nervously keeps looking to the back of house for any updates --- keep in mind it's been like 30 seconds so we're not holding up the line or anything. What she does next is the driving factor that brought me here. She turns around and grabs a lemon and squeezes it into my salad and hides the lemon in the palm of her hand to throw it away. I obviously saw the whole thing and was so annoyed of her trying to be sneaky, I just paid and left. Not worth the energy to hold up the line or wait until someone can make me a new salad with the correct ingredients. It's just upsetting to not get what you ordered and paid for when it appears to inconvenience an employee. read more

I love sweet green and I've been eating it for 8 years. The ingredients are locally sourced I believe, and everything tastes fresh. The dressings in particular are unique and full of flavor. I don't usually like ordering salad for a meal, but sweet green is my exception. So when I found out a location opened up near my office I was ecstatic. Sometimes I'll even come once a week... During weekday lunch hours, there's usually a line out the door, but they're very good at moving people through quickly so I'm never waiting long. There are a few tables inside, but I usually take it outside to eat or back to my office. I'm a long time fan of the guacamole greens, and I love the extra flavor the lime adds to the salad. The fresh ingredients are flavorful and the dressing brings the salad to the next level. They're usually light and packed with flavor. Unlike many other salads that taste dull and have too much dressing. I usually get the chicken for my meat, which has changed in prep over the years But still tastes okay. And I love sweet green bread! I will say this locations bread is not as good as others, but I would give it a try. Love this place and would recommend to any salad lover read more

Yes, it probably is overpriced but I am oddly addicted to sweetgreen. The salads are large and can feed me for both lunch and dinner and ingredients are quality. I always get the kale Caesar. Some of the other salads don't appeal to me because they don't come with any meat and to add meat, it would cost extra. This place is always packed during lunch from M-F. Meh, I was not a fan of this sweetgreen location. I generally love sweetgreen, but this location was super crowded, had barely anywhere to sit, and had poor service.
