The people here are some of the loveliest staff I've come across in the service industry- even amongst high end places! This Sweetgreen location truly stood out with its amazing team atmosphere and friendly service. Everyone worked seamlessly together, and Alexis especially went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. She helped customize our bowls with great feedback and was super accommodating to our requests. I regret to say I didn't get her buddies name who checked us out (also known as the music loving dishwasher), but he was also a gem of good energy! Alexis also shook my bowl for me (so thoughtful!) and, when I mentioned I was making grilled cheese at home, her team generously added an extra slice to save me the trip. Small gestures like this make all the difference! I ordered the Harvest Bowl with a few customizations--quinoa instead of rice, parmesan instead of goat cheese, plus lemon and cucumber. Let's just say it didn't last long enough for a fresh photo... it was that good! Highly recommend this location for great service and delicious, fresh food. I'm a die hard sweetgreen fan, and it's my go-to place to grab a quick salad. I've been to sweetgreen multiple times in downtown Chicago, in DC, in New York, as well as Michigan. This location in particular is *very* cheap with the servings in a way other locations are not. I got a loaded salad, and each topping I paid extra for was extremely sparse; $2.10 for the mushroom mix got me two mushrooms, .55 for chickpeas got me four chickpeas, and so on. I'd like to say that at least they gave me a ton of filler with the salad greens, but they even skimped on that. I've visited this location once in person and gotten delivery via UberEats, and it was the same situation. Five starts for sweetgreen in general, but this locations is lackluster. read more

I got the harvest bowl, but I replaced the regular chicken with the blackened chicken and it was worth the swap! No extra charge for that substitution. I attached a pic of what my salad looked like when I ordered delivery a few days ago - adding red onion was 50 cents extra and as you can see I received a tiny amount of it Also, the time before this, I came into the store and had to repeat a lot of what I was ordering because it didn't seem that the person making the salad was paying much attention. 4 stars because the service was very slow. There were four people in the kitchen, one prepping online orders, one doing in person orders, and two prepping food. There was clearly enough food prepped at the time, but the line was growing impatient, so it would have made since to take care of the bulk of the line first. If you come here, it is better to order online, avoid the line, and pick up even if you choose to dine in. I really wanted to give five stars, because the food is really tasty here. The Shroomami warm bowl hits the flavor on every level with the Miso sauce adding a nice umami, salty flavor. They will ask you if you want light, regular, or heavy amount of miso sauce, get regular because it is really good (but it is salty!). You can also get a free piece of bread on the side which was also fresh and soft. The Shroomami comes with a mix of greens, wild rice, beets, cucumbers, warm mushroom mix, tofu, and spicy sunflower seeds. Dining room is pleasant and same with the outdoor seating, but this place is much more tailored to take out. I enjoyed my time here, but waiting the line for 15 minutes was a little frustrating. read more

I love sweetgreen and I don't care who knows it! I feel silly reviewing a chain and giving it the full FIVE stars, but it is seriously so consistently good. The very first time I ordered from here, I was prepared to punish myself with some good-for-me food from one of these " healthy bowl type" places, but I've gone from that to getting lunch from here almost 3 times a week (unheard of for me) because they exceeded my expectations in a few big ways. 1. Surprisingly delicious - Usually these chains that advertise healthy food are not very good. Generally very bland and boring and that's why it feels very healthy. I've tried everything on the menu at this point, and all the sauces here are very very flavorful and everything is seasoned enough with salt, so you end up with a bowl that is bold in flavor despite being lower in calories than, say, a Chipotle burrito. Everything on the menu is honestly very well thought out. Easily customizable, too, but every dish as is already has a lot of fun textures going on, so every bite is exciting but there's also good balance overall. 2. Surprisingly filling! I definitely expected to be slightly hungry after my meal the first time, but the whole grains make the bowls pretty filling, and the fact that the food is actually flavorful means I felt like I ate food by the end, if that makes sense? If I'm getting a salad, I might add some crispy rice grains or chickpeas or something to give it a little more substance. For a lunch, it is a little more expensive for a chain, but the food is very restaurant quality imo. 3. Impressively consistent. All the ingredients are very fresh, never a wilted leaf in sight. And I mean never, not a single one in all the times I've ordered! The add-ons are also exactly the same every time, and the quantity is very consistent as well. I never feel like I'm getting skimped on an ingredient, especially the protein. I would swear that a robot makes it all if I hadn't seen actual people in the store before... When I'm not craving anything in particular for lunch, I default to sweetgreen, and I'm never disappointed! Hope they put new items on the menu eventually though. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a Sweetgreen was here, so avoid if you are used to the locations who actually serve good food and orders correctly. I ordered 3 salads (all autumn harvest bowls) and 1 warm bowl (maple glazed Brussels and chicken). All 3 salads were made incorrectly (included plain, half cooked white rice instead of flavorful wild rice), and included maybe 1/2 a handful of spinach as the "salad" portion, and the warm bowl came with quinoa and sweet potatoes (they left out the chicken, onions, Brussels sprouts, and wild rice). Of course I had this delivered at received it at 8:30pm, when it was too late to try to remedy the situation. This location falls well below the bar of Sweetgreen as a brand, and I'd suggest avoiding ordering from here if you want the items you order to show up in your bowl (especially when it comes to deliveries). read more

I don't mind paying over $15 for a salad if I get what I ordered and it's not frozen. I've eaten at the Hyde Park location when I was working in the area and it was always very good, I was happy that this one opened in OP because it's closer to where I live. I have eaten at the OP location at least 6 times. It was always good except 2x the items were frozen. Either the temperature is set too low in the cooling bins and/or the food items should not be sitting directly on the stainless-steel surface of the removable stainless containers. The last time my Spinach was frozen. I told them and they gave me some more on the side. I told them they might want to inform the management or service department. Last night my beets were frozen - you could see the frost on them. When I told them, the one female employee gave me a stoic look as if I was speaking a foreign language - she had the face of someone who obviously was not very concerned. If the tables were turned, I'm wondering how she would have felt. If employees are not concerned about the customers' experience, maybe management should seek out someone else. I understand it's hard to find people today, but if you have bad people representing your brand, that may be more costly to your bottom line in the long run. read more

Somehow they do often run out of the free bread side though. The last 2-3 times I've ordered the bowl was barely filled half way which usually isn't the case here so not sure what is going on but since I'm paying $13 plus a salad, I expect it to be a full meal not a side salad portion.
