I ordered take out here in person. We got the chicken bowl and steak honey crunch. The chicken bowl was decent, the sweet potatoes were tasty and the almonds gave the dish a nice crunch. The steak bowl had a nice crispy texture from the breadcrumbs and I enjoyed the taste of the pickled onions and quinoa. The only con is that some of the greens they provided were wilted and a bit old and not fresh. I usually go to CAVA, so compared to them, Sweetgreen is less saucey and seems more healthy. One of my favorite places if I'm in the mood for a bowl/salad. So many times that I have been to Sweet Green and not once have they disappoint! Everything on their menu is excellent and they go above and beyond to give you a great experience. There are a lot of tasty recipes for the plates, salads and bowls. I recently got the Chicken avocado ranch bowl and it was no doubt delicious! 9/10 maybe even a 10! The service is always on point along with how clean the place is and how polite everyone is. We stopped in for a quick bite last Saturday and yes, it was quick. However, I ordered the Miso Salmon bowl and the salmon was very dry and practically inedible. The rest of the bowl was ok, basically an avocado, (which was brown in spots) a lot of rice, too many pickled onions. At 15.95, it seemed like a lot of money for basically rice with some sauce. I stopped in Sweetgreen on a Saturday during the Head of the Charles and it was quite packed. The location is great, right near everything else in Harvard Square. It's usually busy with students, locals, and tourists. I'd recommend ordering ahead online so you don't have to wait in the line and can make adjustments to your order easily. The place has a solid setup with plenty of seating and the counter area isn't too crowded. As for the food, the salad ingredients are definitely of high quality. That being said, I don't think the price is justified, especially if you add protein. I would prefer something more substantial than a salad if I'm going to spend $15. I love this Sweetgreen! The staff is always kind and helpful and the food itself is unbeatable. The cilantro lime vinaigrette is the best salad dressing I have ever tried, save for my mother's secret homemade caesar dressing and lemon vinaigrette. The cilantro lime vinaigrette brings a delightfully acidic kick to any salad with any toppings. If you are not sure what bowl you want, here is one I would recommend/strongly encourage everyone try: greens: half romaine, half spring mix red onion x2 (sharpness) sweet potato (sweet undertones) cabbage (crunch) cilantro (flavor obviously) blackened chicken (protein + savory) oven roasted sweet potatoes (I just love sweet potato) tortilla chips (crunch + carbs) lime squeeze (sour!) medium lime cilantro vinaigrette bread (to soak up extra lime cilantro vinaigrette) They also allow you to purchase the lime cilantro vinaigrette on the side, for anywhere between free and 50 cents per serving. Updated review. I last wrote that this sweetgreen is quite disorganized and chaotic, and things have improved a bit, but they're still very understaffed. During peak hour there are only two employees working the assembly line; during off-peak hours there's usually only one. I sometimes order ahead to save time, but portions are bigger if you order in store. This goes for all locations in my experience. I was in MA for a work trip and just stumbled upon this place - it was roughly 5 pm and the place was PACKED. If I hadn't been looking out for a table I probably would have had taken my food to go. I got the Harvest Bowl and the ratio of salad and toppings was perfect. The rice was warm so it didn't heat up my salad and the chicken was moist and flavorful. I usually like to eat salad along with a meal but after a day of indulgence in Boston this was the ideal dinner spot. They have a make your own salad option along with multiple salad combinations to choose from. The ordering system is similar to a chipotle or any other similar 'build your meal' concept space. I tried the Harvest bowl ( seasonal spacial for fall warm bowl approx $9.00 something) and the Kale Caesar salad bowl ( under $10.00). When you get up to the making station you can specify the dressing quantity but the key ingredients are pre fixed. Note: Sweetgreen specifies the calorie count for each salad bowl on the menu. The lines move fast and the freshness of the freshness of the ingredients is visible during the making process. They pack the salad in a to go container and one can either eat at the restaurant or take it out. The portions of the salad are huge so its certainly value for money in terms of quantity and ingredients used. The salad itself was good and the combinations worked well together 8/10. The staff was very efficient and the overall experience was great. I recommend it !! read more

Hello! Queen basic over here. I'm OBSESSED with Sweetgreen and have been for a while. I know it's overpriced, but I LOVE it. And I'm so happy that Harvard Square finally has a salad place. All the Harvest Bowls I could ever want! This location gets crazy packed and it's always loud (even if you come when it's empty, not sure why). So meet one friend here, but if you're meeting a group (or want to have a more serious conversation), order the salads in advance and eat them elsewhere. Actually, you should always order your food in advance even if you are eating here. I hate long lines so I try to do everything through their app (gotta rack up those free salads!). My orders have been accurate so far and usually the food is ready when I get there. Once I came for lunch and had to wait 15 minutes past the pick-up time. There were a lot of people waiting so maybe it was an off day. Anyways, great spot if you want to pick up something healthy and quick! I'll keep coming back! read more

SPECIFICS: - Chicken Pesto Parm = The chicken was tender and not at all dry like I fear. The quinoa was the perfect temperature, warm but not too hot to wilt the lettuce. My boyfriend has been coming here regularly for healthy and delicious meals -- he particularly loves the blackened chicken. However, he had a terrible customer service experience and does not plan on coming back to this location again because of it. When I went to pick up my boyfriend's food, I gave the employee his first AND last name, with the last name spelled out since I know his first name is really common. Unfortunately, we discovered that he still ended up with the wrong order when we got home. My boyfriend was quite hangry but understood that the staff probably just made an honest mistake. He tried to give them a call so that they could make the correct order before we drove there again, but after 10 minutes of trying every option on the phone line to get to a human, there was just an offer to "text the support line." He texted the support line and didn't get a response. We decided to drive there to resolve the issue in person. The ability of the employees at this store to resolve this issue was very disappointing. When my boyfriend said that he got the wrong order, the employee immediately escalated to the manager, which was strange since mixing up an order is probably quite common in the restaurant industry and employees should be able to resolve the issue. My boyfriend explained to the manager that 1. he hoped they would seriously check last names before giving out orders to avoid this kind of mistake in the future, and 2. he wondered why he couldn't reach them by phone. The manager ignored #1 and for #2 responded that the store phone isn't working. Not having a working phone is very concerning particularly since we want to minimize in-person interactions during COVID-19. My boyfriend was also upset that the manager didn't offer any kind of apology or compensation for the store having mixed up his order. It seemed like the manager didn't speak English very well so maybe she didn't understand. In the end, another employee apologized on the manager's behalf. Finally after all of this, they started making the right order. Half an hour later, the text support line finally responded and offered a refund. This was a very frustrating experience for a place that sells salad for $20+. We hope that this sweetgreen location can invest more in manager training and get a working phone. We've also learned to double check our order before walking out the door. read more

So I love Sweet Greens but disappointed in the Harvard Square location. Roasted Steelhead is consistently OVERCOOKED thank goodness for extra dressing, the chicken I got today was super dry too and there was hardly any onion. I love me some spicy broccoli, and so always get a double portion, see image for what I got, the image in app is of large florets, the meagre portion of broccoli I got today was 90% stem.. I think I may have spoken to soon. I was hungry and lazy after hot yoga last night and didn't have the energy for Life Alive. I wanted food pronto, so I decided to give Sweet Green a second try. I'm happy I did! Word to the wise, don't go when they're closing bcz they don't make the salads correctly. Go when they're busy and doing it right. My salad was amaze-balls! AND soooooo filling. I did another custom bowl with kale, chickpeas, tomatoes, sweet potato, cucumber, red cabbage, and hummus. With my beloved vegan pesto dressing. I could barely finish it. It was so delicious I didn't finish reading the article on my phone. I was all about my salad. Btw did you guys know you can enhance the flavor of sweet potato with tomatoes. It really brings it to life! I couldn't believe it. Also, their plastic is compostable (no one told me. I think it's made of corn). There was one slight issue with payment. There were 3 people near the register. One woman was tossing my salad and dressing, another was working the reg and guy was between them filling the order for the customer in front of me. The cashier took my payment but almost gave my card to guy in front of me. Then they walked away and the guy was left putting my lid on the bowl. He then asked the woman who dressed and tossed my salad what's in it and demanded payment. I told him I already paid and the 2 of them looked bewildered. I then said "I've already paid and the cashier almost gave my amex to him" (pointing to the gentleman who was ahead of me currently grabbing flatware). He nodded but they still looked stupefied and the manager had to intervene and apologize. The falafel add such an awesome texture to the salad. The seating is always crowded but the turnover is quick. The line moves at a reasonable pace as well. Sweetgreen and I did not have love at first sight, but this chain has won me over. The key for me was finding the right combo for "Build Your Own." I got the salad greens with tomatoes, spicy broccoli, cucumbers, and almonds. My premium ingredients were the chicken and mushrooms. The icing on the cake (or salad on the dressing?) was their spicy cashew dressing, which is my current favorite. The total came out to $10.75, which is on par with their a la carte combinations. I could taste the quality in the ingredients. The greens were crunchy and bright. Every element of my salad popped with flavor. I felt full afterwards, but not unhealthily so. I find the prices high and the quality on some items inconsistent (dried out beets, red cabbage). The base salad is affordable, large and tasty but the add-on prices and quantity are confusing and bring my total cost to $20 or more. It's a dumpster fire in there during lunch time and none of the people who work there care. The line is wrapping around the whole store, online orders are complaining, it's like 20 degrees too hot in there, food is being thrown around and the salad quality is completely inconsistent. People are waiting in a 20 person line for upwards of 45 minutes. Are you paying your employees enough? I'm just curious because there's a complete lack of accountability for anything. read more
