    Plato de Chile Relleno (vegetarian)

Stopped with my friends for a small bite during the Wheaton Cocoa Crawl and we loved it. I am so jazzed that we have a Sweetchilango in Wheaton for excellent Mexican food. Not your typical "Mexican" restaurant. It is unique, casual, whimsical, and clean. Fantastic service, even when ordering from the kiosk. We shared a Plato: Rice, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, tortilla, and our choice of guisado was chile relleno - Egg battered stuffed poblano pepper with cheese, tomato salsa, and sour cream. Very tasty and fresh. I will be back for a full meal and an adult beverage. Thank you Bien Trucha Group for choosing our town. I have been going to your restaurants since you opened on Geneva around 2008 and never disappoint

Very tasty! I had the birria plate. You order via a screen here, then they bring the food to your table. I liked the relaxed decor. I don't drink alcohol, but I noticed they have a bar.

It's not your typical guacamole and Crunchy chips.

Great food, quick service and super friendly staff! Our kids recommended it and they are spot on with all of the above. Traditional recipes with a notch above. Manager was above and beyond attentive. Congratulated us for our new grand baby and celebrated with free dessert. We will always visit when visiting Wheaton. Our kids are fans so they will be regulars along with their new baby. Thank you for such a welcoming experience.

The food tasted very authentic. It's not as cheap as a hole in the wall place, but I feel like the quality and flavor profile justify the price. I got the enchiladas and they were delicious. The service was so friendly and you can tell they are passionate about the food. Cute ambiance as well.

    Frozen burritos to go

Great food, maybe on the pricey side because everything is extra. If you've been to one of there other restaurants (Quiubo, Bien Trucha or A Toda Madre) it's a similar deal.. you'll pay extra for a salsa. That being said, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Fast casual, so you order your food from a screen (there are people there to help you through that) grab a number and claim a table... They'll bring the food out. I'm not paying for chips and salsa, so we had chips and guacamole. It was very good, The guacamole was a little chunky, little spicy and very delicious. We both had the Taco De Birria (beef) and the Taco De Cochinita Pibil (pork). They were both excellent. I also had the Taco De Albondigas (meatballs) and it was very good. I ordered two packages of burritos, one Barbacoa and one Carnitas to go (they have them frozen) but I haven't tried them yet. We will go back for sure, I want to try other things on the menu. Some vegetarian selections available. Small bar service: sangria, margaritas, cerveza, etc

The food and the drink. I ordered the tamarind - drink with alcohol on it. (I forgot what its called)

We ordered the birria plato and it's so good! Their soft tacos that goes with the plato we ordered was real soft and tasty and I should say that probably we need more soft tacos to go with the plato order. Ambience wise, it's not bad I should say. It's casual. And order your own. Their sauce in the table is good too. It complements the dish. Its a little spicy but manageable. With the drinks, it was not bad at all.

Absolutely delicious! My family went to Sweetchilango for dinner and was not disappointed! My husband and I both got enchiladas and they were delicious, and a bit spicy. The restaurant is very clean, modern, and beautiful. Not to mention the phenomenal service! We will be back!

Los, as she calls it, serves up some delicious more authentic Mexican. It is a fast casual eatery that seems to be a favorite amongst locals. The menu consists of a lot of your tex-mex staples like tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and more! You can dine in or carry out, although you get complimentary chips and salsa if you dine in. Service is good and the food comes out quickly. If you order separately, you have to order and pay at the front, otherwise your server will take your order. The inside is very casual and not the cleanest, but not to the point where it's unappealing. The chips were decent and were warm when they arrived. They looked more like Tostitos, but they appeared fresh so I assumed they were made in house. The salsa is great, a little sweet, a little spicy--perfect! I ended up ordering three steak tacos and a pork tamale. The tacos do not come with complimentary rice and beans. I personally appreciated this as I wasn't in the food for either on this particular occasion. Food came out about 8-10 minutes later. Served made to order, everything looked phenomenal! The steak tacos had two tortillas each, filled with ample amounts of tender steak, some shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and topped with tomato slices. I loved the corn tortillas as they seemed homemade. Homemade tortillas are a game changer and automatically amplify any Mexican dish. The steak was flavorful, a little chewy, but still good. The tacos were packed with steak and they were very filling. My friend got the chicken tacos and they came with onion and cilantro. These appeared more "authentic" than mine, but I still liked mine. Now the pork tamale was easily the best I've had. The corn masa had the perfect texture and the pork was very flavorful. I would recommend this as a side for sure! Overall, I enjoyed Los and can see why my friends Cole here for a causal dinner together. It seems like the perfect spot to grab a chill dinner with friends. Food seems authentic, service is decent, and the vibes are super chill. I will say, this place gives "hole in the wall" kind of vibes, but trust me the food is great! I really loved the homemade tortillas and the pork tamale, both hit the spot. Portions are large and the food isn't expensive at all. Would definitely try it if you haven't already.

We went full tapas mode and shared everything across the table, which is absolutely the right way to do this. The trio of salsas was a strong opener. The smoky Al Morita was the clear winner for me, though all three brought something distinct to the table. The Patatas Bravas were well seasoned and the sunny side egg on top added a richness that elevated the whole dish. Wanted a little more crisp on the potatoes but honestly a minor note on an otherwise solid plate. Tacos were a mixed bag. The Al Carnitas fell flat, the pork belly felt underseasoned and the lime overpowered everything else. The Al Fundido though was a genuine standout. Perfectly cooked butterfly shrimp, pickled onions, melty cheese. Every component earning its place on the tortilla. The Al Chulo got solid marks from the table but could use something bright to cut through the richness. The Chicken Empanadas were a highlight of the night. Shatteringly crispy, loaded with flavor, and the slaw alongside them was exactly the right call. The Al Mango Salad was fresh and balanced but leaned sweet and desperately wanted a crunchy element and maybe a little heat to round it out. Dessert delivered a split decision. The Al Platanito Frito was the surprise of the evening. Sweet, sour, bright, crunchy. A perfect final bite. The churros were perfectly fine and nothing more. Service was attentive and our server steered us well with recommendations. One heads up: this is not a casual weeknight cheap eat. It is tapas priced for the experience, so come hungry, come with a group, and come ready to spend. Worth it. The Plainfield location is next on our list and we cannot wait.
