The scrimp tacos were delicious as were the tilapia tacos. Easy to share. Location is walking distance to the theater. Very convenient.

Another winner for Altiro. Just opened in Geneva on Third Street. Same great cocktails and food in the heart of Geneva.

Had kind of a mixed experience with this place…read more The food was mostly the food. Like some other people have commented, it is on the pricey side. Is the guac $15 good? No. However, the items I expected to cost more were good quality. The flavors were great and everything was cooked well. The octopus was especially well handled and tender. The dessert we had was also fun and flavorful! Really enjoyed that aspect of the experience. The service was mostly decent. The waiter came by to check on things a bunch and the food came out fairly quickly. That was a good thing since like a lot of Mexican places, this one does not offer free chips and salsa. They were slow to refill drinks... that were not alcohol. I definitely got the feeling their bottom line depended on upselling liquor. It felt like we were an inconvenience asking for more water. The place was packed, so we were expecting some amount of noise. We also understood we were there on a Saturday when most people are out for a sloppy good time. At almost exactly 9:30pm, they turned the music up to insanely loud. It was impossible to hear anyone in our small group. Again, I got the impression this was for the benefit of the people drinking massive amounts of alcohol. Even though the food was good, this place is more interested in Instagram picture spots and drink sales than the full dining experience. If you are not there for TikTok video of flaming/glowing drinks or Insta pics by the flower wall, it is not worth your time.

Came across Casa Tulum from several IG posts and wanted to check them out! The restaurant's decor…read moreshows bits of Tulum but you are definitely coming for the food! Once we checked in with the hostess for our reservation we waited ~10 minutes to be seated and quickly greeted by our waiter Guillermo (so sweet and very friendly). We ordered our adult beverages (both very refreshing and tasty especially on a hot summer day) and flautas as an appetizer. The flautas are definitely big enough to share or as an entree. Guillermo provided great food selections and we decided on the quesabirrias and Molcajete. We were both silent for the first 5 minutes because we were enjoying our meal...the flavors were exquisite! Make sure to make a reservation...this was at 5:15 on a Saturday and it was packed! Walk-ins were definitely waiting for a table. Also be prepared that the noise level is a tad loud and the tables are close together.

Unfortunately today, the service was really bad. Liz, was our waitress and consistently showed me attitude, just saying no to things, etc. Just not a good experience at all. I am fine with hearing no, but there's a way to talk when you're hospitality well. On to the food. Red sauce cheese enchilada - good Green sauce cheese echilada - others loved it, but it's too tangy for me Guacamole - fine and better with fresh jalepenos added Veggie Tacos - meh.. probably the worst item of the day Veggie Quesadilla - it was fine to good Based on this trip, I think I would still come back and just hope to not have the same waitress. Btw, the rest of the staff, walking around were very nice and thoughtful, but how much do you really interact with them. So anyway, we'll see how it goes.

You have a choice of queso or guac as a starter, both are small. Chips and salsa are also gratis. After that you have a choice of two items from a list of about 8 or 9 items. I had the chicken quesadilla and tostada. Upgrade to add bean and rice for a buck. My colleagues fish taco wasn't worth the extra $2 according to her. I thought everything was fresh and delicious. More lunch than both of us needed, I'd pass on the rice/beans in the future. Service was good. Attentive but everything was her favorite on the menu, not very helpful. Seating in indoors or out. They have TVs for the World Cup and a full bar. Highly recommend for lunch and we will be back.

My server was pretty slow and seemed distracted, sometimes gone for 20 minutes at a time. I basically had to lock eyes with him just to get his attention. He was a younger guy, so hopefully he tightens that up. Also, if someone notes in their reservation that they're bringing a baby and a car seat, it would make more sense to seat them at a booth instead of in the middle of the restaurant, especially when booths are open. Overall, I'd say it was about a 7/10 experience.
