Friendly staff, clean, open seating area. Food was bland. I had the taco dinner with one chicken taco, one pastor & one ground beef. Very little flavor even in the rice & beans. The salsa is good though. Overall a little disappointing.

Came to try this place for the first time and I saw it had good reviews. I arrived and the place looks okay outside came inside and the menu is a white board pretty dirty and you can't really read what comes included or inside the food you order. It seems like the husband and wife run the place with another worker. The lady seemed to be in a bad mood when I ordered and helping customers out. You have to order before you sit down and eat. The salsas green and red are super runny and lack flavors. The horchata water was good. The best taco here was the lomo other than that everything else was horrible. The steak taco was half chunks of fat and meat, chorizo has a horrible taste, the Al pastor meat has no flavor so when you bite into it it is sweet from the pineapple chunks chopped in with the meat. I do not recommend anything other than the lomo and make sure you ask for limes because they don't give them with the tacos.

Tonight's yummy dinner from Mi Casa. Three types of enchiladas, shrimp fajitas, and extra guacamole. Good to carry out

Using a bookmark because I was near. We experienced fast & friendly service. I ordered ribeye & regular steak tacos. My meat had no charring or seasoning color. The tacos were under cooked and not seasoned at all. They were plentiful with veggies, but lacked with the meat! The facility was clean, but I would not return.

Asada and al pastor tacos, $2.49 e

Homey, family-run, authentic Tex-Mex! Having grown up in Phoenix, impressed to find tasty tacos in Wheaton. Lots of meat in the asada and al pastor tacos, though the al pastor could use a bit more flavor. Tacos range from $2.49-$2.79, quite the steal. Sadly they ran out of the lengua, but will be back! Like the house salsa, fresh. Steak fajitas was a nice portion, comes with fresh tortillas, lettuce/tomato, rice and beans. Warm, fast service, friendly owners. Also does delivery and catering. Recommend stopping by for a tasty snack or a warm meal!

    The "chef's table".

My husband and I went house hunting last weekend. For me, house hunting triggers cravings that come in waves. First, it was pancakes. Next, it was Dairy Queen's Butterscotch Dip Cone. Then, Mexican food. Just down the street from the last house we looked at was Mi Casa. When we drove by it, on the way to the last house, my husband said it looked like a renovated Taco Bell. While I should have been looking at one of the half baths in the last house, I was actually looking at Yelp and discovered the good reviews, so we gave it a try. When we walked in, it was clear that there were not enough tables. There were three tables inside what was the shell of a fast food place. The owner quickly greeted us and pulled two chairs up to the counter (where you would order at a McDonald's) and gave us menus. More people came in, so the owner and a server went outside to grab patio furniture for people to sit on. Now, this probably should have been bad sign or a turn off or something else negative, but it was oddly charming. We had a perfect view into the kitchen where everything was prepared to order. A very fast working female chef kept things afloat as more and more people came in. We ordered chorizo, marinated pork, and chicken tacos. To be blunt: every taco was fantastic. Really. Also, cheap. Well-priced, very good food is surprising to find sometimes and this restaurant surprised me. You should go, just not on a Sunday afternoon, unless you time it just right to get the "chef's table".

We went full tapas mode and shared everything across the table, which is absolutely the right way to do this. The trio of salsas was a strong opener. The smoky Al Morita was the clear winner for me, though all three brought something distinct to the table. The Patatas Bravas were well seasoned and the sunny side egg on top added a richness that elevated the whole dish. Wanted a little more crisp on the potatoes but honestly a minor note on an otherwise solid plate. Tacos were a mixed bag. The Al Carnitas fell flat, the pork belly felt underseasoned and the lime overpowered everything else. The Al Fundido though was a genuine standout. Perfectly cooked butterfly shrimp, pickled onions, melty cheese. Every component earning its place on the tortilla. The Al Chulo got solid marks from the table but could use something bright to cut through the richness. The Chicken Empanadas were a highlight of the night. Shatteringly crispy, loaded with flavor, and the slaw alongside them was exactly the right call. The Al Mango Salad was fresh and balanced but leaned sweet and desperately wanted a crunchy element and maybe a little heat to round it out. Dessert delivered a split decision. The Al Platanito Frito was the surprise of the evening. Sweet, sour, bright, crunchy. A perfect final bite. The churros were perfectly fine and nothing more. Service was attentive and our server steered us well with recommendations. One heads up: this is not a casual weeknight cheap eat. It is tapas priced for the experience, so come hungry, come with a group, and come ready to spend. Worth it. The Plainfield location is next on our list and we cannot wait.

I've seen a lot of griping from people that they had hoped this spot was more in line with the other restaurants under the Bien Trucha banner but I feel like they did a decent job of setting expectations while letting people know this was going to be a different experience so I wasn't thrown by the new concept. I enjoyed the feel of the place and the ambiance. Felt like a chill bar spot I would have no problem hanging out in while in Wheaton with the added bonus of delicious, affordable Mexican fare that doesn't sacrifice quality. This restaurant is a recent addition to the…read moreBien Trucha group, but of all the locations I have eaten at (Bien Trucha, Santo Cielo and Quiubo; have not been to Lil Donkey or A Toda Madre) this was the weakest one. Why? - We both thought the corn tortillas were too thick and flabby. These tacos are somewhat bigger than you get at other places, so the support structure needs to be there, but I have seen other places get around this with two thinner tortillas instead. These also barely seemed to have touched a comal: they weren't blistered and still had a doughy quality. - The thick tortillas translated into thick tortilla chips, and neither of us liked the salsa Verde. My fiance liked the house sauce that is in a bottle on the table better. - He got two tacos and a side of esquites (street corn), I got three tacos. We both thought the chicken (in his chicken tinga taco and my pollo pipian taco) tasted gamy. He liked the one better with steak and potato (picadillo), and the esquites was good. I liked the flavor of the rajas con crema quite a bit, with poblano pepper, cheese curds and corn, but it was rather messy to eat. Likewise, my birria taco was very flavorful but just poured grease out of the end...yuck. - For two of us for dinner with no drinks (both got tap water) it was right at $50 (48 and change). That is a LOT for tacos, especially considering that some weren't very good (looking at that chicken here). - A note on accessibility: I was encouraged because there's a ramp going up into the restaurant, but there are only a few regular tables: most are high tops. I wish this trend in restaurants would go away! Everyone can use a regular table; not everyone can use a high top. One accessible thing is that you can either order at the counter, or order from a QR code menu and they'll bring it to your table. So overall, Sweetchilango is only getting a middling grade from me. There are so many other good taco shops in this area that I don't need to break the bank coming here. I'd say it's an optional choice if you're looking for something different, but the inconsistency of the quality of the dishes we had make trying something new a challenge.

Los, as she calls it, serves up some delicious more authentic Mexican. It is a fast casual eatery that seems to be a favorite amongst locals. The menu consists of a lot of your tex-mex staples like tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and more! You can dine in or carry out, although you get complimentary chips and salsa if you dine in. Service is good and the food comes out quickly. If you order separately, you have to order and pay at the front, otherwise your server will take your order. The inside is very casual and not the cleanest, but not to the point where it's unappealing. The chips were decent and were warm when they arrived. They looked more like Tostitos, but they appeared fresh so I assumed they were made in house. The salsa is great, a little sweet, a little spicy--perfect! I ended up ordering three steak tacos and a pork tamale. The tacos do not come with complimentary rice and beans. I personally appreciated this as I wasn't in the food for either on this particular occasion. Food came out about 8-10 minutes later. Served made to order, everything looked phenomenal! The steak tacos had two tortillas each, filled with ample amounts of tender steak, some shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and topped with tomato slices. I loved the corn tortillas as they seemed homemade. Homemade tortillas are a game changer and automatically amplify any Mexican dish. The steak was flavorful, a little chewy, but still good. The tacos were packed with steak and they were very filling. My friend got the chicken tacos and they came with onion and cilantro. These appeared more "authentic" than mine, but I still liked mine. Now the pork tamale was easily the best I've had. The corn masa had the perfect texture and the pork was very flavorful. I would recommend this as a side for sure! Overall, I enjoyed Los and can see why my friends Cole here for a causal dinner together. It seems like the perfect spot to grab a chill dinner with friends. Food seems authentic, service is decent, and the vibes are super chill. I will say, this place gives "hole in the wall" kind of vibes, but trust me the food is great!
