What a beautiful venue. Hidden up in the hills of Mt Baldy. My niece was married here and the entire process was perfect from start to finish. The grounds are beautiful. Everything was handled so professionally and she was beaming the entire night. They handled practically everything. If you're lookin for your venue this place is it. Views, decor and location can't be beat.

From the moment we stepped onto this property for our first viewing we were treated like family. We were married here this past November. The property is insanely beautiful, the staff are fantastic and friendly, and the full bloom package includes almost everything you need for the big day, and all at one easily budgeted cost. Their contracted vendors are TOP notch! We don't even like BBQ food most of the time but their caterer is SO amazing at their craft that we ended up doing BBQ! Yes, there were times I had to reach out several times to get an answer. Sometimes responses came slowly, and it drove me nuts. But it was typically minor items and was eventually addressed. I also didn't really realize HOW much was included for the day of until the actual day of. Yes, a little more communication would be lovely, but ultimately it didn't affect everything enough to knock a star off. I really was completely blown away with how easy everything seemed to go along, and I'm kind of an A-type control freak haha If Sweet Pea is the aesthetic you're looking for you won't find a better place in all of So Cal. I promise. Tess and Company were amazing and I can't wait to have another event here in the future.

OMG! I just had my wedding here on Saturday night June 18, and I couldn't be more impressed! The venue is absolutely stunning, the DJ Gilbert was awesome, the food fantastic, the flowers for decoration were gorgeous, and I LOVE that it is ALL INCLUSIVE! Shannon and Tess were amazing on arranging everything, taking all the pressure off me and allowed me to fully enjoy my wedding. I am so glad to have chosen Sweet Pea Ranch to get married at! If I were doing it again, I wouldn't change a thing. I LOVED IT!!

We got married at Sweet Pea Ranch October 1. If you are looking for a classy rustic all inclusive venue, look no further than Sweet Pea Ranch!!! From my inquiry to the end of the event, the team at the ranch was responsive, helpful, polite, fun and organized. They made planning the event so easy. I only had one close call melt down and that was over the late dj change and I only panicked because I hadn't internet stalked the new dj . But Shannon was amazing. She put my mind at rest even called the new dj and the owner of the company called me direct and ensured all would be good. It was more than good. The DJ was phenomenal, the food was amazing, I barely added anything to the decor. All my guests had an amazing time. All the vendors were great, especially my florist!!! I was assigned to Alicia at Amore Flowers, and I think she was sent to me from above. Alicia made all my floral dreams come true!!! All in all, the team at Sweet Pea is amazing!!!! Shannon really held my hand at the times I needed it. I want to relive that day over and over. Thank you Shannon, Tess, and team. You made our day one to remember for a lifetime.

Sweet pea ranch is a wonderful venue !! I couldn't of asked for a better wedding! Everything was perfect and tess and her staff are amazing! If you want a perfect wedding without stressing out book your venue here , tess and her staff make having a wedding so enjoyable. From decor to our food and the dj everything was perfect!! I loved my wedding at Sweet Pea Ranch! It was such a beautiful day and the scenery around Sweet Pea is truly unique and memorable. In the months leading up to the wedding, Chelsea was always quick to respond and extremely helpful with all of my questions (she also did my florals, which were beautiful)! I arrived late with my bridal party to the venue for photos, but the staff was extremely kind and helped keep us on schedule despite our tardiness. I got married on 12/27/19, and the temperature dropped down to around 38 degrees that evening. Fortunately, we rented a heated tent and the staff even brought out extra heaters when guests were still chilly. Additionally, they upgraded our beer and wine bar to a full bar without charge just to make sure the evening was perfect! The only note I would make is that guests need to use "luxury porta-potties" for the restroom. They're really not too bad, but they're not ideal. So I would just take a look at them before you book to make sure you wouldn't mind your guests using them. Other than that, I really loved this venue and I could not have imagined a more beautiful wedding for myself!

First off, I had the most amazing wedding in the world on May 28th, 2017. No mistakes, no confusion, so much fun, way more than I would ever dream of. When I reached out to Tess, I was given a tour of the beautiful layout. I had a total of 3 planning meeting (they give you as many as you need), they provide the vendors for food, dessert, DJ, bartender, chairs/tables, flowers and more. I chose my own photographer and officiant. They had a tasting party to try food/hear your DJ, and get the feel and an amazing rehearsal the Thursday before the wedding. You really feel like you are apart of their family. When I walked into the venue day of the wedding at 3PM to do my first look, I was floored. It was calm, completely set-up and all the centerpieces were amazing. The staff was organized, calm and all on walkie-talkies displaying how organized and professional they were. My desserts were so good and the timeline was flawless. I had over 50 of my guests reach out to me telling me it was the most beautiful wedding venue they had ever been to and the most fun. We had s'mores, bon fire, amazing dance floor, good dessert, popcorn, great drinks and overall an amazing time. The dinner was SO GOOD! I seriously have no complaints, and anytime someone has asked me "did anything go wrong" I say no it was PERFECT. They really have mastered their craft. Love, The Michny's

The day of our wedding was everything I dreamed of as a little girl . Everything was perfect . From the dj to the dessert bar , everything was beautiful . My husband and I recently got married at Sweet Pea Ranch in May 2015. I will first start off by saying that everything the day of turned out perfectly and beautifully, because ultimately that's what it comes down to. Tess, the owner has always been very sweet to me. Teri, who began working for Tess a few months before my wedding was also great throughout the process. My husband and I found this venue in February of 2014 and booked it for May 2015. Some of what was agreed upon in the initial meeting was being altered in later months, as the venue began to change how they were running their business. What I appreciated, is that for the most part, what was initially agreed upon was upheld for us. However, I will say that I personally feel a lot of the success of the wedding is due to my type-a personality and organization with planning. Though this is subjective, I want to ensure I am giving an honest review. I feel that the communication was poor during the first 8 months or so- unreturned or very delayed emails, calls, texts, etc. That made it difficult to plan certain areas of the wedding at my own pace. Other than the communicative concerns and a few other little things (example, the way some staff communicated with a few family members and bridal party the day of), that is the only negative comments I have about the venue. Back to the positive. I heard so many great things about our wedding and the venue itself. Guests were telling me, guests were telling other guests (who then told me), etc. The venue has so much versatility and so many beautiful areas. All of my wedding photos seriously look like we were at several different places for one event. I experienced several moments throughout my wedding-planning-process where I felt very frustrated with the venue, BUT, overall, my wedding day turned out perfect and beautiful in every way. The staff was all very helpful and attentive as well. read more

Great place for a wedding. Laid out nicely from the chapel area to the cocktail area to the dining area. I would check it out if you are interested in an outdoor wedding, or another type of event. Very cute. read more

We just had our wedding held at Sweet Pea Ranch. We chose this spot because it met our budget and didn't have a stuffy feeling that many places had. Ceremony and reception was also held in all the same location, and there's a ton of character to this venue. Every thing went smoothly and we have heard multiple times it was the best wedding people have ever been to. The scenery was gorgeous and the grounds gave for a very relaxed feel (which is what I wanted). Tess was sweet and involved and even helped us find a photographer (Josh) that fit our budget, after ours backed out last minute that we really liked. we used their BBQ and bartender that she suggested. Food was yummy and the drinks were flowing all night. We set up our own decorations and had the ceremony in the arbor area. Cocktail hour was by the fountain and dinner was on picnic benches by the barn, where inside was dancing/photo booth and cake. We even had s'mores around the fire pit which kept everyone warm. Staff, grounds and details all were consistent in the feel of rustic, warm and friendly and it still felt very professional. There is a few kinks that still need to be worked out, being a newer venue... but I would definitely have an event here again. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they recommended the company we used for the photo booth/video booth and DJ and I was disappointed in their services. The printing quality of the photo booth pictures were bad, the video was formatted in a weird way that we can not play it on our Apple computer and because it is in the same area as the Dj, you can't hear what people are saying. The worst part for us was the DJ didn't play multiple of our song choices including our first dance song. Of course or guests didn't know, so we just went along with it but my husband was bummed. I would not use Every Occasion Entertainment again. Overall, it was a wonderful, memorable day. What Sweet Pea offered was wonderful and we felt very comfortable. I was not too picky with details but I wish I would have researched a little more for our own vendors. read more

I am very late in posting this review, but this venue is amazing! The whole process was great from sharing our vision, budget, and communication. We got married here in august 2014 and Tess made our wedding dreams come true. She and her crew were very helpful.The day of, My wedding party loved them because they assisted us in everything. Tess made us feel like family! we even hung out with them in there house during our wedding. The venue is truly breathtaking and away from the city, in the middle of the mountains and truly makes a great intimate location for a wedding. read more

Sweet Pea Ranch will always hold a special place in my heart. From the first time we took a tour of the venue to the day I watched my beautiful daughter walk down the aisle, I knew that it was the perfect place for such a special occasion. Tess and her staff made us feel like family from the beginning. Each member of the team took a special interest to make sure every single detail was handled. The food, flowers, entertainment, decorations. . .everything was top notch. Since my daughter's wedding, I have gotten rave reviews and comments from friends and family that were in attendance. Our son was married at Sweet Pea Ranch in June. The grounds are rustic and quaint, just what they were looking for as a venue. The wedding Coordinator Tess did a wonderful job of talking to my son and his fiance to make sure she really understood the feel that they wanted for their wedding. The wedding was going to be small and they agreed to be married under the arbor. It was perfect! Decorations were exactly what was wanted, the dinner for the reception was a delicious Bar-b-cue. The wedding reception was held in the barn, providing a break from the wind. Dancing was in the area behind the barn. There was plenty of room! The night was perfect and we would Highly Recommend Sweet Pea Ranch!!! read more

Chris and I knew Sweet Pea Ranch was the perfect venue for us from the moment we saw it...at another friends wedding! The year leading up to our wedding was filled with laughter, fun and the most minimal amount of stress ever. I was so overwhelmed with emotion right before the big moment.. Tess, the owner, kicked everyone out of my dressing room and gave me the best talk and helped calm my nerves. Our wedding was even better then we had ever pictured. From the beautiful flowers, delicious good and comical DJ who kept everyone enjoying the party. I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding and any other important occasion. I love this place for many reasons - it feels like you are somewhere far away from So Cal but you really are just minutes, Tess and her staff are so welcoming and nice. They have such a great attention to detail too. They made every part of my bro's wedding perfect from the sitting areas outside, to the gigantic love signs, to the beautiful lights in the trees. We're coming up on our 1st year anniversary and We still think about how much fun and what 1st class service we received at sweet pea. Friends and family are still talking about what a great time they had and how they want a wedding experience like the one we had. Love love love SPR! My husband and I were married there in November 2014. We booked SPR in January 2014. Tess is an amazingly sweet woman who did everything she could to help. She runs a wonderful venue and you will love her to death!Her assistant Veronica...super helpful too. More like a life saver when it came to certain things. Beautiful place, beautiful family like atmosphere. Everyone at SPR and Cowboy West Productions is like family. And they treat you like family as well. Drake and his guys were the bomb. They do everything they can to help you and make sure your plans come out as you want them. Our wedding day was amazing. My dream wedding! Our guests are still raving about it. I love this wedding venue!! It was the first and last venue I looked at when I got engaged. I was so excited when I booked my wedding. I felt like family as soon as I met Tess. Tess is the owner of the venue and she is such a sweet lady. She made me feel welcome from the very beginning. She works hard to make sure you get what you want. I fell in love with the venue right when I saw it. It has cute, country rustic feel to it. I love the big red barn and the multiple decorations around the ranch. Not to mention, the BBQ food is AMAZING!! I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a country rustic wedding and doesn't want a lot of stress into planning their wedding. I can't wait to get married and call sweet pea ranch my family. read more

One of the best venues for a wedding! The staff is very attentive and keeps the activities going. They have several areas to mingle and the ice cream bar was one of the favorite hang outs. Recently, I attended a wedding at Sweet Pea Ranch. This is a spectacular setting for a wedding. The venue is arranged so that there are multiple places for people to gather. The ceremony was held outside and the wedding party stood under a gazebo. The barn was a great place for dancing (plus the bar) and the dinner was held outside with amazing views of the canyon and surrounding area. The way the setting sun illuminated the mountains added to the scene. There was a fire pit which kept us warm as the evening progressed and the the makings for s'mores was an added bonus. Parking was plentiful and the venue easy to locate. I've already recommended Sweet Pea Ranch to friends who live in the area. read more

Well, October is here. Our day was yesterday..and things could not have gone any smoother if anyone tried. It was stress free and FUN! The coordinators were on top of everything! Tess, you guys have this wedding thing down to a tee! Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening..and also a huge thank you to your amazing staff as well! All of the staff were so friendly and there for my groom and I. Even the guests were impressed. We were hearing all sorts of compliments on the venue last night! They were saying how beautiful it was, that the ceremony went so smoothly, that our wedding was fun and they want to find a reason just to book a party there because they loved every aspect of it. It's so great to hear that about the venue we picked! We are so grateful and happy we picked this venue! We will be re-living last night in our heads for months and years to come! We recently got married at Sweet Pea Ranch and we couldn't have asked for anything better! The staff is amazing and Tess is now family! This venue is so special and feels so intimate my friends and family loved the ranch and loved all the different things to do on the property. Tess made the planning process so easy and fun and stress free. The day of the wedding went so smooth and the staff was ON IT! They were constantly asking if we needed a drink and made us so comfortable. Everything went perfect we stuck to schedule thanks to the help of the staff. My friends and family had no complaints about anything and my husband and I couldn't find anything wrong with that day. I would recommend the venue to anyone and in fact one of my friends who came will be booking with them because she fell in love with it the night of our wedding! I have wanted this venue since before I was engaged, a coworker told me they were looking at this venue for their wedding and once I saw it online I was sold. I just recently became engaged this past June (2015) and of course this was the first appointment I booked!! I was so stinking excited!! Then, I talked to my coworker about her wedding. Although I had seen beautiful photos of it, I never actually talked to her about the venue. What she had to say shocked me, and actually you can read her review on here too!! The first thing out of her mouth was 'DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE!' I decided to go ahead with my appointment because I couldn't get the place out of my head. To my surprise, I liked it more in person than I did on the Internet. After the walk through concluded they sat is down in the patio and began to 'interview' me. They said and I quote 'first, are you a bridezilla?' When I laughed and replied not to my knowledge, they said good because we don't want that. In my opinion, not the best way to start this off! Anyways, she continued to ask me my vision, what was important to us and what our budget was. I was pretty caught off guard that she wouldn't give me a quote and stated that 'they had to work on it.' Immediately I thought, crap, they are going to totally play me on my budget!! I tried to keep an open mind as they continued to tell me that they are a fun, tight knit group that really cares about their brides. They even went as far as to say 'some still come over for dinner.' Then all professionalism (trust me there was little to start with) went out the window as they told me they wanted to be set up with the guys at my wedding and would be upset if they weren't apart of the party. ?? Wtf do you mean a part of my party, this is my wedding?? As we left Tess gave me her number and hugged me and told me that she would get back to me as soon as possible. They even joked around with me about how if they don't like a bride they don't get back to them quickly with quotes. Well guess what, three weeks later I'm still waiting for a quote... I even text her on the number she gave me and I got a lame excuse that she had the wrong email and her assistant gave her a different one... Uhm, not possible I only gave you my one email?! I must have been one of those brides she didn't feel she would get along with. I really and truly would read the reviews from the few people on here and honestly take in to account that they are SO unprofessional. It's such a bummer because their venue is beautiful. read more

If only we could give zero stars.... We had our Wedding reception there back in November. When we first met with Tess and Stephanie, they were very friendly and they claimed to offer basic services with the cost of the venue. But once the contract was signed and the wedding day approached, problem after problem would arise. Suddenly things that had been included now had an extra fee. Their friendly demeanor became snappy and they seemed inconvenienced by us. Their vendors list was almost nonexistent and after promising to find bluegrass bands (from their "vendors"), just before the date, they had not and were irritated that we hadn't done it ourselves. We found our own vendors right down to the heat lamps, because with exception of a guy who BBQ's, they didn't have any. The day of the reception, these ladies didn't raise a single finger to accommodate us (on our first meeting they said that they would be involved with decorating and organization). They sat around under the heat lamps, which WE provided for our guests, and drank beer and ate our food. We didn't figure in the cost of feeding these women and their children and we weren't asked permission before they dug in. Then at the end of the evening, I in my suit and my wife in her dress helped as our family cleaned the barn and swept the floors. All while they continued to sit under our heat lamps and watch us. They were the embodiment of unprofessionalism and lacked all class. We had numerous reports that they were flirting with various male guests at the reception. What the heck?? After all of that, they asked us to leave behind some of our decorations that they wanted. In the end, we received a surprise bill for over $800 that was not itemized and listed services that were clearly included in the contract for the cost of the venue. They mis-represent themselves and the services they provide. The scenery is beautiful, but for a small tin barn and these two "ladies", we would not do business with them if we could go back in time. Another review here said it's a venue you'll "never forget". Unfortunately that's true. read more

Sweet Pea Ranch...is a beautiful location; however, that is all...integrity and customer service are lacking, so before you book read the true reviews that were removed! I was married here and did all the leg work, Thank God because the wedding turned out beautiful! Unfortunately, I can almost guarantee that if I would have left the leg work to the Sweet Pea staff nothing would have gone as planned because phone calls and text messages were never returned in a timely manner...not how business should be conducted! Sweet Pea, I hope things turn around for because you have a beautiful location, but right now that is all you have!!! read more

IF IT HAD PLUMBING, IT WOULD BE A TOILET But, you'll have to settle for porta-potties 'cause there ain't no plumbin'. We were gathered at this roadside rest stop for a wedding. With apologies to rest stops everywhere, as they have level ground, shade, adequate outside seating, plumbing, and don't smell. The grounds at SP are not level and rife with potholes and other footfalls. I witnessed small children tripping, stumbling and falling. One adult was carrying a baby and stepped into a hole, fell forward barely protecting the baby from being crushed, landing on her knees and elbows. The ceremony was held in the open, blazing sun. Then there was a 90-minute delay until they reorganized to bring forward the bride and groom. The Champagne for the toast had been distributed long before. The newlyweds danced on an uneven concrete and stone, multi-level, slanted, outside, base (I don't know what else to call it). Warped picnic tables in the sun were set up on a slope for the reception dinner. We were fortunate enough to get one with an umbrella providing partial shade. Returning with our food from the chow line, we found the umbrella missing. A couple behind us said that staff had taken it. Several staff members were leaning over a rail above the eating area. I approached them and complained about their taking the umbrella. They were immobile. I raised the level of discomfort and a couple of guys wandered down and located an umbrella for us. A female came over and said, "A lot of people are looking for shade". I told her that we had some but staff took it. She said that it must have been another guest. I replied staff's involvement had been witnessed. She denied that and told me to sit down and enjoy my meal. She is the owner. I told her that she should be ashamed. A quick note about the grounds: dirt, gravel, dust, and erosion. Nuff said. I have a concern about those with disabilities trying to reach the porta-potties (of which there are two; one designated "handicapped"). They are located down a notable, eroded slope, with loose gravel. Closer in, the gravel to the slab would be a tough go for anybody with mobility issues. Getting there, an adventure. If you are inclined to book this primitive site for any event, please be prepared to apologize to all those who attend. I didn't get sick from the food. read more

What a beautiful magical wedding venue this is. The staff is amazing beyond belief. Everything was so perfect from the planning to the rehearsal to the wedding. They take the stress out of planning a wedding and cater to your every need. I could never imagine my daughter getting married anywhere else. This will truly be your fairytale wedding place. Not just because it was our wedding, but because this truly was the best wedding in the world! Let me tell you about Sweet Pea Ranch. From the way I found this venue to the way the staff delivered, it was a blessing, like it was meant for us. I found this venue by simply "hash tagging" #BARNWEDDING on instagram, just to get ideas, not even looking for venues yet. However, out of the millions of pictures, this red barn kept showing up and caught my eye. We searched it and realized it was close to our house. We emailed them and right away got a response and we set up a meeting. The meeting felt like we were being invited to a friend's home. The hospitality was definitely not that of a business, but that of family. We absolutely loved the team from the start. That day was like a showcase of the ranch. They had bbq, the dj playing, and the venue was set up including the centerpieces. So on top of the customer service who treated my family and us so kindly, we also fell in love with the venue/ranch details. My husband and I fell in love with this ranch and decided THIS IS IT. Honestly, it was the only venue we looked at and had no desire to "shop around." We had found a piece of paradise and knew this was where we wanted to exchange our vows. On a piece of God's creation that surrounded this ranch. The nature, scenery and peaceful beauty had us in awe. Tess, the owner shared her beautiful home with us and accepted us not as her clients but as her family and made our wedding planning so easy. We had a really difficult work schedule but Tess and the Sweet Pea Ranch team understood and created a way to work with us. I appreciated their patience with us. We asked so many questions and Tess always answered them and helped us in which direction to go. She took the time to get to know us on a personal level and from there chose the team best fit for us. The team wholeheartedly worked on making our wedding special, so personalized. from our favorite sweets, food, drinks to our favorite music, flowers and colors. Our wedding was a dream and so much more. Our guests were just as happy with the ranch and staff. So many calling and texting, giving us positive feedback. I got a comment that the staff, from the moment they parked, their interaction with security, the caterers, bartenders and coordinators till the moment they left, it was perfection. We knew we were going to be happy and have fun, but it meant everything to us that it was memorable to our guests as well. Guests loved the music and the Dj's energy and they loved the dessert bar selection and our flowers that they knew held so much meaning to us. Our guest enjoyed the popcorn bar, the smores bar, the games, animals and photo booth! Which by the way all this and vendors are all inclusive with the venue. Which just meant they were bound to work well as a team. All in all, We want to thank the whole staff for their great attentiveness and professionalism towards everyone. For the organization that made the whole event run smoothly and on time. We were able to do everything we wanted. Over all we're so grateful and blessed to have trusted Sweet Pea Ranch to deliver an event so perfect, unique and fit to us. We may have to renew our vowels every year just to keep coming back! Crap place. Over price for drinks. Workers are rude. Benches are not leveled and eat on a hill. No restrooms just port able shiters. Food is OK. They need to be trained on how to do weddings. I wouldn't have even a wedding there ever. I feel bad for my family who had their wedding there. read more

Working with Sweet Pea Ranch for our October 12th wedding was an absolute dream. I was incredibly nervous going into the wedding planning process. The idea of having to coordinate everything was just overwhelming and I was sure where to begin. I stumbled upon Sweet Pea on The Knot's planning app and instantly fell in love with the photos of the venue. Then learning that it was all inclusive, I knew that that was the way for us to go. We had a long engagment but knowing that everything was set and waiting for us to be ready for our big day, was such a stress relief. The fact that all we /had/ to do was get ourselves dressed, get someone to take photos, and someone to marry us (which now is a package option at Sweet Pea as well!) made the few decisions we did have to make so much easier! Our day was beautiful and went off without a hitch, though it did seem that the DJ didn't play many of our requested songs which was a bit of a bummer (but the music he did play was fun!) but I'm so grateful that I found Sweet Pea Ranch! LOVE!! We got married here on October 15, 2016 and it was absolutely Amazing...it was everything we dreamed of and more! Tess and her staff are incredible...the moment we met Tess and Val we immediately new this was the place for us! Everyone is so warm and inviting and treat you like family. READ THE ENTIRE THING!! This is a great local place for weddings and parties. I'm giving them 4 stars because although a great place and view for a wedding they are a new business and still working out some kinks that can make the experience rough around the edges for SOME brides. If you want a place to take care of EVERYTHING then this is the place for you. If you are somewhat of a more detailed oriented bride that cares about specifics the relationship may be challenging, BUT rest assured Sweet Pea WILL GET THE JOB DONE! I found this venue through a friend and told my cousin about it who had her wedding there early November 2014. My cousin and I met with Tess and Stephanie a year prior and a contract was put into place. Tess is great, she is personable; she really relates to the bride and groom and is on their side to do what they want. The couple made payments to the company but because of some internal issues was not tracked properly and about 3 months prior to the wedding the bride and groom were asked to show proof of payment even though all checks were cashed. Another issue about 6-8 months prior to the wedding was that the photographer who Sweet Pea had contracted with would not return any phone calls to the bride to set up a meeting time, in fact the bride had to hire another photographer and pay that photographer in addition to paying Sweet Pea for the one contracted - because of this Sweet Pea added to the flower package to make up the difference. Also, because of the stress of miscommunications and internal personnel changes at Sweet Pea my cousin actually hired me to be the wedding coordinator. At which time I started coordinating everything with Sweet Pea to get in writing what had been approved over the phone and such. Veronica did a great job and was a pleasure to work with. I also was the day of wedding coordinator and coordinated every movement of the day with Tess and Drake with Cowboy West Productions. This is all to explain why they get 4 stars because I realize they are building a business and are going to go through some learning curves but I feel as though my cousins overpaid for the wedding. They paid me, Sweet Pea, and the other photographer, and also had to pay for Additional Guests which was an astronomical number. Keep in mind it was a buffet style food sitting at picnic tables which the venue already has and they were told it was over $100.00 per extra person to add. They thought they needed to add 10 people because of RSVP's and paid it to Sweet Pea; Sweet Pea did forward on some savings to the couple once another cheaper vendor was selected for the photobooth/dj which was great and soothed the sting of the extra person charge. Now let me tell you how great Sweet Pea can actually put on a wedding!! They did a phenomenal job, from hosting the bride/groom in the house at their arrival (and keeping them separated), to the ceremony, cocktail area, dinner and dancing they executed a PERFECT WEDDING. Drake was on top of EVERYTHING and TESS was like a ghost in the wind working on the fine details of the tablescapes and moving onto the next item without us even noticing. In fact the ENTIRE STAFF was such a pleasure to work with, they took care of my every request and took care of the bride and groom. They have drinks and snacks for the bridal party on arrival (complimentary), they take extra good care of the things you bring to the wedding for the guest book and things like that. The Cowboys even ran to my car to get the blankets I forgot. Also, Drake was on top of the weather because a storm cell was on the way and although the dinner was arranged outside the barn, when it started POURING on us the cowboys moved the tables quickly into the barn and got towels to wipe them down. I really enjoyed the day of the wedding and SWEET PEA KNOWS HOW TO PUT ON AN EVENT!!!!! I only explained the business part hurdles because it can be frustrating when planning the event of your life. Now that they have been in business for a while I can see the kinks are getting worked out - they are a GREAT choice!! read more

Got married here last night, and I have to say it was the most wonderful experience ever!!! Tess, Rachel, Robert, Val, like the whole sweet pea ranch was incredible!! They made sure that everything was perfect! They took care of us, and our guest, I didn't hear one single complaint! Everyone loved the location and the team and the food! This place is fabulous!! The perfect place for an adorable rustic weeding! Tess, the owner and wedding coordinator is the sweetest person. She really made my fiancé and I feel so special. She is willing to work with you're budget and really wants to make you're dream wedding come true. The best part? She never told me no!! Every bride wants to hear that! The venue has a cute cottage that is actually Tess's house! Tess opens it up to only you're bridal party and immediate family. Beautiful location, DON'T RECOMMEND IT. We paid for OPEN BAR at my son's wedding. Turns out they totally control the alcohol. No shots allowed, they are poured in a small cup with water added. The bar was paused to not serve anyone during an introduction, a dance, serving dinner ect....so ridiculous. The coordination lacked detail. We found ourselves as parents of the bride and groom sitting alone in the front row. Tess and her staff didn't have the sense to have the grandparents or significant family members sit with us. The seats were reserved and remained mostly empty because they didn't direct people to the right place. Won't do that venue again and certainly won't recommend them. Ask to read the small print...I wasn't provided with those details otherwise I would certainly have addressed it before the event. And then the food...it tasted great. There was lots left for guests to get seconds. Instead it was picked up and gone with no announcement for seconds after everyone had gone through the buffet line. Overall I got the impression the owner is simply selfish and gives you the bare minimum for the most she can charge. So not impressed. Go elsewhere for more hospitable service. I'm just glad my beautiful daughter in law and son were able to overlook that nonsense and enjoy their day after all. read more

Everyone pretty much ghosts you once they get your deposit. They are very accommodating in front of you/face to face but they do not respond well. Took us a month to get an answer to our questions.

I come from a background of event planning myself, so I recognized that I was a bit of a hyper detailed and logistically obsessed bride. I literally had made my production schedule before I had even met with her! This type of thing would normally irritate the hell out of an event coordinator, but honestly Lisa just felt like someone who was my partner. She saw what I had created and helped me build off of what I got started and she just made me feel like I wasn't in it alone anymore. - She would go above and beyond! We had a mix-up with our cocktail hour where our caterer came in and left some of the food on the side where it wasn't easily found. Lisa and her assistant jumped in immediately once she saw the need. She straight up started serving our hor d'orves to all of our guests so that the food we spent good money on wouldn't be hidden in the corner. - She handled extra coordination with ease! We had a mariachi parade and a shuttle coming in and out of our venue. She was able to coordinate all of this seamlessly with her assistant. I was worried about the coordination of our shuttle in particular- and without a single worry my guests were coming in and speaking so highly of the amazing coordination of the entire day. Padua Hill's only required vendor is Entertainment Express because the venue was fitted with a sound system specifically for Entertainment, and the quality of the experience was one of the main reasons we ended up hosting our wedding at Padua. The team was so thoughtful and thorough during our planning process, helping us consider different options for lighting, timeline, and songs for the processional, first dance, etc. One of the key things we wanted to include during our wedding was having a song our friend wrote and recorded be a song that played during our cocktail hour as an Easter egg for our friend to experience. Getting to share that moment with him when he realized his song was playing was a highlight to our wedding Entertainment Express brought to life. The team was also really helpful in helping us transition through the different points of our wedding, and made the day feel super cohesive. While our experience was specific to Padua, there's no doubt EE wouldn't be able to make events at other venues feel just as special.

My husband and I got married here March 13, 2015. We fell in love with this place online. Now let's make one thing perfectly clear before we proceed. Sweet Pea Ranch IS Tess's HOME! Therefore her home, her property, her rules, her staff, her RANCH! bottom line at the end of the day. Cool? K! We even came without an appointment, the very first time, and were asked to leave nicely and return at another time with an appointment for a site tour..not a problem! I'm not sure where all these hostile comments are coming from?! Impatience? lack of understanding? SBB-Selfish Bride Brain? Anyways we had several meetings over the course of about 9 months never was anything forgotten or were we ever told that something could absolutely not happen. (except for sparklers; "weather permitting" and weather did permit that night !!) everything down to the music was exactly what we wanted and that day turned out to be more than we expected! our day went completely smoothly we were treated with RESPECT as well as our family and friends all enjoyed their time and loved our venue. The staff was something i also wanted to address i read this comment "So if you want to deal with a lazy staff who half asses everything and is really rude and disrespectful, this is the place for you! What a shame" the staff was actually 100% the opposite of this statement is LAUGHABLE! (I read the situation) and sounds like a crowd problem not a staffing issue. I recall being made very clear that there is NO drink allowed to the parking lot PER A LICENSING LAW not the ranch being "assholes." Honestly if being within the open area of the ranch is not "enough" go down the block to the HI BROW DUDE & PAY DOUBLE....where you will be allowed to stay in the bar only....hows that sound? ENTITLED. Same goes for the bathroom and "cash bar" situation...EVEN the animals are all made known to the bride and groom from the the get go, so maybe the complaining should go to the bride a groom not the venue... At our wedding we never had to even ask for anything! someone was always there within reach ready to hand us our next drink, take our food, get us whatever we needed, EVEN BUSTLING my dress (thank you, Hannah, baby girl!) it was amazing the attention to detail. My daughter was just married at Sweet Pea Ranch, and it was a beautiful night! She wanted a barn setting, and everything Pinterest-like for the country/glam mood. We looked at the ranch in the beginning of 2015, and it was very cute, but a work in progress. Since the owner, Tess, combined forces with Drake and his Cowboy team, the place has been up-graded quite a bit. Tess and Drake and their teams work so well together, and everyone there is so polite and helpful. When my family came on the wedding day to set up decorations, I was amazed to find the cowboys greeting us with their phones communicating to other parking staff. When we returned to the wedding with my Mother, they directed us to where her wheel-chair was waiting. I was relieved to know that our guests would be well directed. When my other daughter, the Matron of Honor, sat down during the service, someone appeared with a bottle of water immediately...good job! The ceremony was up under the arbor, and the reception was on the bark in front of the barn. (Mainly because we had over 200 people). We used the barn for desserts, picture wall photos and some dancing. (The D.J. was in the back by the horses). If you have a smaller group, you could choose another set-up, but this worked nicely. I think the bathrooms are coming, or you can order nicer ones to be brought in...do that...that's the only thing I wish we did. We had the BBQ dinner they can provide, and it was yummy! I really was impressed by the way we were treated. They seem to treat everyone like family, and they are hands-on and professional. We had spectacular weather...so that was a blessing too. The guests wore cowboy boots, and seemed to be happy they didn't have to wear suits etc. to a wedding...:) Best of all was the smile on my daughter's face, when the evening was coming to a close...it was what she pictured...yeah God! read more

My fiancé and I were scheduled to be married at this venue in February of 2026, and we are absolutely devastated by how we have been treated. Just five months before our wedding, the venue suddenly contacted us to say they were canceling our event and would not be refunding our money. There has been zero communication leading up to this, and this announcement came completely out of nowhere. When we checked our portal for additional communication or explanation for the lack of refund, all of our information and plans had been deleted without any contact. We are now left scrambling, with no venue, no refund, and a significant financial loss. As a young couple just starting out, this is an incredible burden, one that we should never have had to face especially in such a happy time. The way this situation has been handled is beyond unprofessional. The lack of transparency, accountability, and basic respect for clients is shocking. We feel as though our trust has been completely violated, and it is deeply upsetting to know that the money we worked so hard to save is simply being kept from us. I strongly urge anyone considering this venue to think twice before booking. If this is how they treat couples so close to their wedding day, it shows a disregard for the people who put their trust in them. Just recently went to a wedding here and it was okay. The ceremony spot was small and cute. The layout of the venue is a bit odd and I didn't care for the uneven terrain every few steps. I saw a few people trip which didn't seem very safe. The reception area was very rustic and well themed but they only had port-a-potty's which was such a turn off for a wedding. So gross to use in our wedding attire. I wouldn't come here again or book them based on that alone. One of the staff members said this place has been here for several years so you would think they would make indoor bathrooms a priority but I guess not. Food was okay but no vegetarian entree option and nothing was super tasty. Near the end of the night, the bartender cut off my friend who was drinking and she was not even drunk. She was so embarrassed because of that and they went to so far to tell the Bride that she was cutoff. I would have been livid had I been the Bride. You don't interrupt my night to tattle on a friend. She hadn't been aggressive nor rude to anyone when they cut her off and yet they still seemed to make a scene about it. It really turned me off to this venue. I felt really bad for my friend since she had actually gone up a couple times for me and the Groom's mother for drinks as a good gesture. We got married at Sweet Pea Ranch on March 25, 2017 and it was my dream wedding! I cannot thank Tess and her team enough for all the planning and care they put into our day. She helped me every step of the way with planning and executing our vision. The best part is, she truly cares about her couples and she listens to what is important to you to make it happen. Her staff even BUILT a reveal door for our wedding ceremony because she knew how important it was to me. The entire team pays attention to every detail, and the venue is stunning. Our pictures are out of this world! Michelle-the florist, is a genius, Lamar, our caterer was so incredible- people kept commenting on how amazing our food was! I cannot get over what a blessing this venue is! They feel like family-I HIGHLY recommend this venue to any bride and groom who are looking! It also seems that legitimate negative reviews get flagged and removed, but I see a completely fake one that remains. "Tom A." is Tom Anderson, who according to his Linked In page (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/tom-anderson/39/a10/609), is the VP of Media and Marketing for Cowboy West Productions. They are partner and vendor for the Sweet Pea Ranch. He is in pictures all over the CBW site and Facebook. This is a huge conflict of interest and it doesn't surprise me. I saw this rude snappy lady at my buddies wedding there, and was shocked when I found out she owned the place. She's in a service industry and that's no way to behave when people are spending Thousands! Beware of this place. read more

HORRIBLE!! THIEVES!! SHADY!!! I waited since March 2020 to write this HORRIBLE review. Let me start by saying they kept over $14,000 of our money for not providing a damn thing because of COVID. Tess, is shady, slimy and just a horrible horrible person. She says she treats her clients like "family". I feel sorry for them then because she is disgusting! She says, "buy the insurance", but then says "but that still doesn't guarantee you will get your money back". Tess you ruined what was to be the best memory of our daughter's wedding. They don't care about YOU at all...it's all about the money for them. I could go on and on, but you all can read the other 1 star reviews because they are true. read more

One star is generous. The venue is beautiful for a rustic wedding, but that is it. The owner is very difficult to deal with and always changing vendors without informing us. My daughter was forced to cancel her wedding because of the dishonesty and unprofessionalism of the owner Tess. The owner never follows up on request, respond to emails or return phone calls. This women has ruined her wedding and we have to fight to get all of our money back and find another venue. The owner is very nice the first time you meet her, but trust me it's a facade. Hannah, Teresa, and the whole sweet pea ranch crew are heros! My wife and I had our entire wedding planned at a different venue in wrightwood and 2 days before our date, a massive brush fire took control of the area making it nearly impossible to access our venue. After hearing this the sweet pea offered thier venue and services creating a magical wedding for me and my bride in a single day! We cannot be more thankful and pleased of how everything turned out. By far the best wedding venue. Great food, great view, so much fun from the ceremony to the cake, dancing and entertainment. The best wedding I've ever been to.... highly suggested venue. I think photographers should be working the entire wedding. Not sure why the negative review was about food from a photographer. A photographer is hired to take to capture the entire event AND capture the event with excellent photos which is super easy at the Sweet Pea Ranch. We just attended a wedding here! The owners and staff were so accommodating, professional and fun. The venue was rustically romantic with the cute farmhouse and barn and the BBQ Yummmmmy! The centerpieces were also beautiful with sunflowers and fall colors - every detail was thought of. We totally recommend this if you're looking for a relaxed family atmosphere with a down home flavor. read more
