We chose to hire Linsey and Leah as full wedding planners, and they did an amazing job. There are so reasons they were lovely and you should go with them. We got married in LA and they were so reasonably priced compared to what my other friends have paid, and the work they do is top notch and pays for itself in terms of reduced stress but I'll try to list out the top things that they had a huge impact on. 1. VENUE HUNTING - My husband and I hired The Double Knot before we even picked a venue, which I would highly recommend! It was so nice because they were able to give really solid recommendations for venues that fit what we were looking for both in terms of aesthetic and budget, would come look at the venues with us and ask questions regarding logistics. They saved us so much time because they would get the quotes from the venues, figure out what was and wasn't included and then let us know approximately how much a wedding would cost for our guest count. It really helped in immediately eliminating venues that weren't going to work. Don't suffer the heartbreak of a venue you fall in love with but later find out can't afford, or the sticker shock of how much the wedding will actually cost once you've signed the venue. That right there probably saved us the cost of hiring them two or three times over. 2. VENDOR VETTING AND RECOMMENDATIONS - The Double Knot had so many wonderful vendors that they recommended and they were all so reasonably priced. Our DJ was awesome, our wedding photographer was 1/5 of the price of other photographers I messaged and because they worked with them all before, they could vouch for their work ethic and quality of work. They were definitely open to working with whoever we wanted to work with and did an excellent job vetting them (I certainly had no idea the right questions to ask), but we felt that if Linsey recommended them, it saved us the hassle of shopping around and everyone did a wonderful job. Our friends said our DJ was the best wedding DJ they'd had. 3. WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS - Then after all that work for months planning our wedding, Linsey and the Double Knot team had to turn around and completely re-plan our wedding the week of because a freak storm came in and rained only on our wedding day. So our outdoor photos, wedding ceremony and cocktail hour had to be completely refitted to be inside where our reception was going to be, and Linsey found a lovely private cocktail bar for us to take our photos at before the wedding. I really didn't think much of hiring a wedding planner since I am in the wedding business as well. Even if I knew what to expect, hiring a wedding planner makes the day a lot more enjoyable since you have a team of people working out the logistics for you. Instead of stressing about the timeline of events you could just enjoy the day. Now that I stressed about how much a wedding planner is an absolute necessity let's talk about why I chose "The Double Knot" (TDK). We met the owner (Lindsay) to go over the general breakdown of the day and man, was she prepared! She broke down the day in 10 minute increments so no details were left out and all of our strange request were covered. We hired her a month before the wedding so most of our details were panned out, however, she was able to iron out the details better. At this moment I knew TDK had to plan our wedding. She met with our Pastor and Reception venue manager to make sure everyone was on the right page. In addition, she sent a questionnaire to each of our vendors to make sure everyone was doing their job right. Two weeks before our wedding we went over the final timeline and checklist for about three hours so everything was finalized weeks before our big day. On the rehearsal night, Lindsay and her partner/twin sister (Leah) were at the venue ready to keep everyone on track. We started at the Reception hall to practice our choreographed dance and traditional dances (Our wedding was a traditional Batak Indonesian wedding), then we made our way to the ceremony rehearsal at the church. She took charge and made the night smooth and worry-free. During the rehearsal dinner she had her notepad out just in case there was anything missing. Everyone was impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. Get ready for the wedding day: 350+ guest, traditional ceremonies/dances all tied up in 12 hours. Lindsay/Leah met us at 10:30 AM to make sure the photographer and videographer were on time to get the right pre-ceremony shots. We took a limo to the church and finished up some more shots with photographer before the ceremony. As soon as we were done, Lindsay hid me from my bride-to-be and Leah made sure the ushers were greeting guest and seating them. Lindsay/Leah lined everyone up and made sure the photo/video team were at the right places. As I walked down the aisle, I noticed the flowers, runner and other decorations were set up nicely. Our florist was not hired to set up, so Leah met with the delivery man and got their assistants to setup prior to any guest showing up. The procession was timed correctly since we had the convenience of our planners cuing each couple. The Pastor took the ceremony from there and I had the opportunity to marry the love of my life. The ceremony ended in one hour and it was time for pictures. A lot of them. The photographer took it from there, while TDK gave everyone pamphlets of what to do in the area since there was a 2 hour gap in between ceremony and cocktail hour. After a bunch of photos and an in-n-out stop (totally random ) we were ready for the reception of 350+ guest. We came out of the limo like superstars as I greeted guest before the grand entrance. While walking around the cocktail area and ballroom I noticed the flowers, placement cards, candy table, signing book and engagement photos were all nicely setup. My wife was tucked in the bridal suite to get changed into her traditional Batak Indonesian dress and I put on my tradition hat before entering the ballroom. We started the night with a traditional Batak Indonesian ceremony which was conducted by our family members. Once that ceremony concluded TDK dismissed each table to the buffet one at a time. There was 35 tables and two different types of buffets (American & Indonesian) so it wasn't an easy task. After dinner the program continued with speeches, dance numbers and lots of fun. While we were tearing it up on the dance floor TDK was packing our vehicles with all of our wedding props so we didn't have to clean up at the end of this night. Our wedding wouldn't have turned out beautifully the way it did without Linsey and Leah! Our wedding was originally scheduled for August 22, 2020, but due to the pandemic we had to postpone it to August 21, 2021. The venue was contracted with a Wedding Coordinator, so we weren't allowed to hire anyone else. We were constantly frustrated with the wedding planning process as our wedding coordinator was constantly failing to follow through with our plans. Four months before our wedding, the wedding coordinator failed to attend a scheduled call. We were later notified that same day that the company decided to shut down. As a bride, I was extremely devastated. Trying to plan a wedding was an extremely stressful process and I was completely jaded, especially because I had expected a much smoother process with the help of a wedding coordinator. I had many talks with my then-fiancé about canceling the wedding altogether, but he wouldn't let me. My wedding was in Dec 2018. So this review is long overdue!! After some extensive research and multiple interviews, I chose Double Knot as my wedding coordinators. I chose them because I focus on small details and they are experts with small/big details. I realized that having a coordinator is the most important aspect of planning your wedding. If you have the right experienced coordinators, your wedding becomes worry free. I obsess over small details and I dont like to let things go to chance. The Double Knot, Leah and Linsey, L&L. Our wedding planning journey started with Leah and at that time was working at the David's Bridal in Brea. Unknown to me L&L and I shared a mutual friend. It was fate because Leah was my attentive consultant that assisted me in deciding on my Bridesmaid's Dresses. I later contacted The Double Knot to set up a consultation. My husband and I had met with 2 other wedding planners and decided that The Double Knot fit our full wedding planning needs perfectly. The Double Knot price and packages worked into our budget, too. From the start The Double Knot was organized and detailed down to the very last minute. The Double Knot ladies were resourceful, professional, and very experienced. L&L were very responsive to e-mails, text, phone calls, and in person meetings. We felt that as much as we, the couple, were engaged in our wedding planning, they were, too. The Double Knot was with us every step of the wedding planning from coordinating meetings, contracts and attending our meetings with vendors, ceremony rehearsal, monthly "to-do" lists and execution of our wedding day. The day of our Wedding, Leah and Linsey were up bright and early with the Bridal Party at hotel. Leah stayed at the hotel and Linsey went to our Venue to coordinate our vendors. It was great having Leah with me at in the Bridal Party suite; she helped tie me into my corset dress and gave recommendations to my hair and make-up. (She even quickly made a bustled for my wedding dress at the reception.) What helped make my day flawless was that Leah and Linsey took care of little details without even being asked. For example, my Bridal Party had taken a picture that said "Wait to you see her" and Leah took the camera took it my Fiancee to show him the picture and she was never asked to. The ceremony and reception execution was perfect. The Double Knot kept us on time throughout the night and made sure that our guests were well taken care of. To this day we don't know of any hiccups at our Wedding. The only thing we would have changed was hiring the Double Knot from the very beginning of our wedding planning process. By the time we hired the Double Knot the Venue, Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid dresses and Photographer were pinned down. The relationship built with The Double Knot will last a lifetime. I have worked with many, many Wedding Consultants over the years, and it's a very short list of those I'd go out of my way to work with again; Leah & Linsey are on that list! They direct so effortlessly that each vendor is drawn into their vision and a fine orchestra is performing before you realize. It's a rare and precious working environment when a disparate group of wedding vendors can be brought together by a consultant and truly execute as a cohesive team. We had our dream wedding a week ago and a HUGE thanks has to be given to The Double Knot! From the first day they listened to our wants and needs for the perfect wedding and helped us set up the plan to pull it all off in 6 months. Linsey was amazing at checking in and keeping us up to date on tasks. They kept all our records organized and ensured that our vendors were all on the same page. We utilized their preferred vendors list to choose our photographer and again were not disappointed. It is so difficult to put into words how thrilled we were with the assistance of the twins. My dream from the beginning was to have a smooth, easy wedding day where I had nothing to worry about. With a DIY wedding that is not easy to accomplish but the twins pulled if off. Our wedding day went smoothly- on time and organized and 100% of that is due to the twins. I wasn't planning on hiring wedding coordinator, but when I met with Linsey the first meeting I knew I needed her and her sister! My husband and I immediately meshed well with Linsey and her easy going personality on our first meeting and later I found out that her sister Leah actually helped me find my wedding dress... So I knew this was meant to be! I could not be more grateful for Linsey and Leah... My husband and I were able to enjoy every moment of our day with no worries and with full trust that they would be there to take care of any problems that might come up! We had a backyard wedding and they were so kind to make sure there wasn't a huge mess to clean up the next day... even saved some tacos for us to have as a midnight snack! What can I say except Linsey and Leah are AMAZING!!!! I love them. They were wonderful planning my daughters wedding. I enjoyed the wedding day and never once worried about anything. As a bridesmaid, I can't say enough about these two lovely ladies. They are phenomenal! My sister was so stressed out and frustrated with the vendor wedding coordinator thru their venue, who then went out of business in the middle of their planning. Let's just say, nothing was getting done and the wedding day was nearing. She found Linsey and Leah and I can tell there was a heavy weight lifted off her shoulders. These ladies stepped up, took charge, was organized, in constant communication, friendly, approachable and so professional, not to mention SO prepared for anything...by that I mean having hairsprays and gels and trashbags and whatever else they think might be needed! So impressed! :) After a year of postponement due to covid, they finally tied the knot on Saturday! I highly, highly recommend The Double Knot. They were there from beginning to end! The Double Knot was awesome! Originally, my husband and I did not plan for wedding coordinators to be in the budget, but after reading reviews we decided it was best to get coordinators. After the entire experience I would HIGHLY recommend getting the Double Knot! They were on top of everything the day of and we didn't have to worry about anything. I had a tiny emergency with my wedding dress and even that was solved and taken care of by them. My husband was saying everything he mentioned to Double Knot that needed attention throughout the wedding was already taken care of. The schedule was executed so efficiently and smoothly it made the experience stress free. Our families enjoyed their presence as well!
