We had catered bbq, a variety of desserts, an open bar with the nicest bartender, a Photo Booth, a pool table, an entertaining M.C and a DJ that played a good variety of music. A few not so appealing things: -It was a hot day around 4pm and there is limited shade where the ceremony was taking place. (Good thing it was short and sweet and straight to the point) it began to cool off around 6pm and got a bit colder as the evening progressed. -there were a lot of flies, gnats, and mosquitos (they need some citron candles or something to deter the bugs) -the photo booth did not have directions as to where to look or anyone attending to the Photo Booth Overall, it was a beautiful memorable wedding. read more

I had no idea that you could do elopement ceremonies at other places besides courthouses but the owner, Terisa, was so sweet and kindly walked us through the entire thing. My brother got his license online and was able to officiate for us. The ceremony space, provided a romantic backdrop for exchanging vows. As the sun set, the ambiance transformed into a magical wonderland, with twinkling lights and the gentle glow of lanterns casting a spellbinding aura over the festivities. Our guests were equally enchanted by the venue's charm and beauty, and many commented on the idyllic setting and impeccable service. As a guest and part of the bridal party, I DONT recommend this venue . The main reason, Tess the owner lacks people's skills and is extremely rude with her thoughtless comments and yelling. You would think as the owner she should set an example on how to properly treat guest. She was so rude towards me making a comment that I was high . She made that comment simply because I stated I didn't know any of the wedding guest and I wouldn't know where to sit them. She came into the bridal room yelling at everybody as I was in the restroom trying to finish getting ready. She then shouts at me to hurry up and after insults me by saying , "I hope you're only high on hairspray ". LADY, first of all you don't know me so don't speak to me that way. Second of all, you need a Xanax to control your temperament. She continued her yelling prior to the ceremony. Yelling at us like school children is unacceptable. Lucky for her my friend was getting married otherwise I would have told her off from the start. The bride reached out to me the next day to apologize for the owners rude comment about me being high. Even the bride said to me "I know you bit your tongue not to say anything back." And on another note , dont let her pressure you into signing a contract during winter . It's wet and cold up there. From the moment we stepped onto this property for our first viewing we were treated like family. We were married here this past November. The property is insanely beautiful, the staff are fantastic and friendly, and the full bloom package includes almost everything you need for the big day, and all at one easily budgeted cost. Their contracted vendors are TOP notch! We don't even like BBQ food most of the time but their caterer is SO amazing at their craft that we ended up doing BBQ! Yes, there were times I had to reach out several times to get an answer. Sometimes responses came slowly, and it drove me nuts. But it was typically minor items and was eventually addressed. I also didn't really realize HOW much was included for the day of until the actual day of. Yes, a little more communication would be lovely, but ultimately it didn't affect everything enough to knock a star off. I really was completely blown away with how easy everything seemed to go along, and I'm kind of an A-type control freak haha If Sweet Pea is the aesthetic you're looking for you won't find a better place in all of So Cal. The scenery surrounding the venue is gorgeous - the backdrop in our wedding photos were stunning but the service and coordination was poor. Tess wasn't able to carry out some of my simple requests on the day of - requests that were in writing over email and agreed upon. Simple details such as place settings, decor, etc down to big details like when to cut off music for first/father daughter dances, saving our wedding cake so my husband and I could enjoy some and directing guests to sign our wedding book. One of the other reviews stated they control the alcohol and she's right - the cocktails barely had alcohol in it. I do advise you to hammer down these details with Tess prior to your wedding if you choose this venue. On a side note - The girl who did our flowers happens to be Tess' daughter-in-law and I cannot rave enough about her! The bouquets and floral arrangements were exactly what I requested and she was an absolute dream to work with!!! read more

The venue is absolutely stunning, the DJ Gilbert was awesome, the food fantastic, the flowers for decoration were gorgeous, and I LOVE that it is ALL INCLUSIVE! Tess,the owner, seems nice in meetings but is too controlling on the wedding day and got in arguments with my guests and my parents. It was an awful experience. The bar line was always so long and she refused to add any bartenders. I saw similar reviews but thought they must have been bridezillas, no they were right. This place does not deserve your business. She charges for everything too! My guests were freezing and she would not turn on the heaters because I didn't pay even though guests were offering cash. From my inquiry to the end of the event, the team at the ranch was responsive, helpful, polite, fun and organized. They made planning the event so easy. I only had one close call melt down and that was over the late dj change and I only panicked because I hadn't internet stalked the new dj . But Shannon was amazing. She put my mind at rest even called the new dj and the owner of the company called me direct and ensured all would be good. It was more than good. The DJ was phenomenal, the food was amazing, I barely added anything to the decor. All my guests had an amazing time. All the vendors were great, especially my florist!!! I was assigned to Alicia at Amore Flowers, and I think she was sent to me from above. Alicia made all my floral dreams come true!!! All in all, the team at Sweet Pea is amazing!!!! I loved my wedding at Sweet Pea Ranch! It was such a beautiful day and the scenery around Sweet Pea is truly unique and memorable. In the months leading up to the wedding, Chelsea was always quick to respond and extremely helpful with all of my questions (she also did my florals, which were beautiful)! I arrived late with my bridal party to the venue for photos, but the staff was extremely kind and helped keep us on schedule despite our tardiness. I got married on 12/27/19, and the temperature dropped down to around 38 degrees that evening. Fortunately, we rented a heated tent and the staff even brought out extra heaters when guests were still chilly. Additionally, they upgraded our beer and wine bar to a full bar without charge just to make sure the evening was perfect! The only note I would make is that guests need to use "luxury porta-potties" for the restroom. They're really not too bad, but they're not ideal. So I would just take a look at them before you book to make sure you wouldn't mind your guests using them. Other than that, I really loved this venue and I could not have imagined a more beautiful wedding for myself! read more

I just had my wedding on June 17th, and let's just say everyone is still talking about it. Tess and her team worked tremendously hard and it truly showed on my wedding day. They all made the entire wedding planning process easy and stress free. The property is beyond gorgeous and the way they put everything together exceeded my expectations. First off, I had the most amazing wedding in the world on May 28th, 2017. No mistakes, no confusion, so much fun, way more than I would ever dream of. When I reached out to Tess, I was given a tour of the beautiful layout. I had a total of 3 planning meeting (they give you as many as you need), they provide the vendors for food, dessert, DJ, bartender, chairs/tables, flowers and more. I chose my own photographer and officiant. They had a tasting party to try food/hear your DJ, and get the feel and an amazing rehearsal the Thursday before the wedding. You really feel like you are apart of their family. When I walked into the venue day of the wedding at 3PM to do my first look, I was floored. It was calm, completely set-up and all the centerpieces were amazing. The staff was organized, calm and all on walkie-talkies displaying how organized and professional they were. My desserts were so good and the timeline was flawless. I had over 50 of my guests reach out to me telling me it was the most beautiful wedding venue they had ever been to and the most fun. We had s'mores, bon fire, amazing dance floor, good dessert, popcorn, great drinks and overall an amazing time. The dinner was SO GOOD! I wrote a review a few months back saying how excited I was for my big day at sweet pea ranch. Well the day came and went on July 7, 2017 and I was NOT disappointed. I was overwhelmed with how much detail and time and thought went into every minute of my day. Tess and her team were AMAZING I didn't have to worry about a thing and even when I tried they eased my worry, which I never needed to have in the beginning they were always 1 step ahead of everything. The food was beyond amazing so juicy and the mac and cheese was yummy. The dessert bar that val set up was so great with an assortment of yummy treats that everyone was going back and back for. We were surprised with a cigar bar that we had no idea was happening and it was a perfect was to end dinner and a break from dancing to enjoy a cigar under the stars. My flowers were sooooo beautiful I still look at my bouquet and get a lil tearful thinking of how wonderful the day was. The bartenders were great and kept the drinks flowing and of course Buddy the DJ was so great he never had an empty dance floor. It was everything my husband and I hoped for and I seriously can't say enough about the staff and everyone involved. This is a photographers dream venue!! There isn't a bad view on this ranch. I have attended a couple weddings here and they just keep upping their game! The food was great the DJ was amazing! I have read that they don't allow shots at the bar and asked why when I attended a wedding there last weekend. A staff member told me that it was for safety reasons, like driving down the mountain road. Totally understandable. I had plenty cocktails anyways but I was not driving. This place is very enchanting and everyone seemed to be having a great time. If people weren't dancing, they were in the cigar lounge, next to the cigar roller who was rolling cigars! My husband and I got married at Sweet Pea ranch just a couple months ago, September 2, and it was everything we had hoped for. Chelsea was our coordinator that had worked with us for the nine months up to our wedding. After three visits and a 2 hour sit down, Tess and Chelsea became our Sweet Pea Ranch family. They truly wanted to get to know us and understand what we were looking for. Chelsea was great at answering all questions, suggestions and requests. She responded in a timely manner, and if she didn't know the answer she would seek it out. The Sweet Pea team had everything under control. I actually emailed Chelsea to see if I was forgetting anything because I wasn't feeling stressed out (like everyone said I should be). She assured me that they strive for making it as easy and stress free for the couples as possible. Which they did. We loved the food tasting that SPR hosts. It is set up exactly like a wedding would be, food, music flowers and all. Which was great for us and our moms to get a real feeling of what our wedding would be like. We chose to go with the BBQ menu, DJ, bartenders and dessert bar, and it was all fantastic. I was craving the mac and cheese the next day. We did choose to get our own photographer and do our own flowers. We were not able to have a formal rehearsal due to our schedules, but the crew was able to accommodate a quick run through before the wedding for us. The day of the wedding, Tess and her crew were very organized and there was no confusion, and they accommodated last minute changes. And the bridal party was able to enjoy the time up to the ceremony without worry. The SPR team helped make sure everyone was welcomed and having a great time. We were able to enjoy everything the venue offers from the fire pit, pool table, to the lawn games and even the cigar bar we opted for, which was also a crowd pleaser. Our friends and family couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was and how they really enjoyed the venue, the food, the amazing DJ, and all it offered for guests. We wouldn't have changed anything. The homey feeling of the rustic barn is exactly what we had in mind. I don't understand how anyone could give this place more than one star. frankly after all the hoops I had to go through I was so disappointed. My now husband booked the venue without me being there and signed the contract. As most people have already stated the confusion and lack of communication was awful. Tess said she would return my call or emails back promptly but never would. When I would call and leave a voicemail she would return my call in a text message. I'm sorry but how is that good business? She seemed to beat around the bush about certain things. Never did give a straight answer. I had to ask her about 2 or 3 separate times. This was for my wedding and there were things she indicated in person and that were different on paper. It would take her days to get back to me! That's a lot when your days away from the wedding date! We happen to have a couple extra people come to the wedding and she had made it seem that it would only be an extra $25 for each person which of course seems reasonable. it turns out the liquor and catering were not apart of it at all and it came out to rediculas amount. Also while trying to get my deposit back---(we got married on July 19) they sent it to the wrong address (so they say) and I have yet to receive it. I have tried to communicate with them and they are so lacking it's not even funny. To anyone that is reading this, make a list of things you want in the contract. Make it your way. It's your wedding or your special event. Unless your dying to have this venue, don't work with her or her staff. read more
