This was just my second time in Sweet on Chocolate. I wanted to pick up stocking stuffers and gifts for family members. The staff is always friendly and helpful with picking out goodies. We picked up some vegan treats for family (they loved it). It's not the first time we picked up their chocolate, I usually pick up their bars at local shops around town. The bars are usually my go to for teachers for the first day of school, Christmas or end of the year gift in a basket. You can find their chocolate around town in local shops if you can't make it downtown.

    My Easter stash of gifts.

One of the best things in Syracuse Armory Square. Visited 3 times in last few months for holidays and my birthday. Something for everyone. The aroma is what gets you. The service is so helpful.

Visited this establishment for the first time today, and it was a treat! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the selection of chocolates was extensive. I was a particular fan of the milk chocolate maple creams, but everything looked beyond tasty. Will definitely be going back!

Sorry, I ate the rest. Truffles, peanut butter cup here.

First, I love chocolate. Sweet on Chocolate is a chocolate haven. I didn't want to leave. The scent of chocolate in the air was intoxicating. Then a voice from behind the counter asked,"Can I help you?" I started ordering like a man on a mission. Beautifully designed truffles decorated the display. From creams to ganaches to a few boozy selections Then you had chocolate covered graham crackers to Oreos, chocolate bark... The list goes on. Did I forget chocolate covered potato chips . There is so much more to mention but I'll leave the journey of decadence up to you. Thanks to the ladies working tirelessly to create these beautiful works of art. Their charm & lovely smiles made the trip worth it. Did I mention I love chocolate.

My nose literally led me to this amazing place! While downtown for a festival, a few friends and I were walking and were literally captivated by this heavenly scent. I followed my nose and led me to Sweet on Chocolate. This is such an adorable chocolate shop. It's very bright and inviting and filled with tons of chocolate. The owners were very kind and friendly. They had no problems answering the few questions we had in regard to their truffle flavors. Finally, a decision was made, and I opted to try 2 chocolate covered oreos (different flavor profiles), a chocolate covered berry, margarita truffle, and their salted caramel rice krispy treat. They were all amazing!!! I was a little bummed that I had offered to share (lol). Some things are worth being a little selfish over, and these delightful chocolate covered treats are definitely one of them. I'm so glad I stumbled upon them & will definitely be a returning customer.

Really enjoyed the truffles from this sweet spot. I was first introduced at a Christmas cookie exchange and I had to grab a box for myself. The store is decorated so cute for the holidays. The staff was super nice- they explained the way they make the hot chocolate which is super rich. Probably the best I've had in the area. The truffles and creams are fabulous. I loved each and every one I got- nutella and cookies and cream are my favorite though. I think these were really fairly priced too.

Sweet on chocolate in Syracuse. Always try to stop in and see friendly staff to order sweet delectables of a good variety of flavors and types. Another find in NY city per reviews, will be looking for Chocoladehuisje.

This place is great! My coworkers and I stopped on our lunch to grab a treat during the week. Even though the sweets are delicious, the biggest win for me is the staff! The service is amazing. Walking in, my group of three were instantly greeted and offered help. The staff asked if we had any questions, wanted to try samples and overall were very inviting! The espresso truffle was my personal fav. They offer a variety of fudge, truffles (some seasonal flavors), coffee, hot chocolate, and different chocolate dipped goodies. Prices were also reasonable. We bought a box of 15 truffles for $18 that we were able to choose from what seemed like dozens of different flavors. They have a couple different build you own box options for their sweet treats. If you're downtown in Syracuse, I would highly recommend stopping by for some espresso truffles!

Absolutely smells so GoodT! It literally smells like the best chocolate ever when you walk in!!! Fresh melted chocolate is the best smell when you walk in! I think I'm coming back to get my mom a special chocolate creme box so she can enjoy her special chocolate orange milk chocolate!!!! She was so sweet and kind!!! Opens at 10am convenience of downtown!

Clump of hair in their chocolate

I shipped some chocolates to my 85 year old dad for his birthday. When he opened the package, it was put together like garbage. They didn't even wrap it so all the chocolates were in one big lump with some melted together. In my shipping directions, I specifically askEd them also to patiently ring the doorbell and allow him enough time to answer it, which they obviously did not relay to the Postal Service, and will not take responsibility for this, so his package was sitting outside for many hours. once my dad opened the package and rearranged everything and separated all the clumps of melted chocolate, he put it back together in a box and set aside. I emailed the owner and basically was gaslit, I was wrong, They were right type of thing. And they blamed everything on the mailcarrier. The icing on the cake for us was when my dad tried to eat his first and last one of their chocolates only to find a huge clump in the center of it. I was unsatisfied due to poor quality and them not following shipping directions as I requested. Earlier on,I was just going to let it go and learn from my mistake from ordering from them and just not ever do it again. However, after messaging the owner to alert him of these issues (in order to allow them the chance to do better and resolve this), I was only met with resistance and denial, and the unwillingness, to be accountable. At this point, I feel the public needs to know what kind of business this is. This place does not appear to be following Department of Health guidelines, as there should be no reason why clumps of hair are baked into their chocolates .

For over 20 years, Sweet on Chocolate has been serving up handmade sweets from truffles to creams to clusters and barks in CNY. While the ownership has changed, their commitment to delivering homemade small batch treats has stayed the same. I first tried Sweet on Chocolate for a Yelp Elite event. Tried 6 different kinds of truffles and every one was absolutely delicious. My favorites were the cookies and cream and black raspberry. A couple weeks later, I went back and planned to try some different things from them. I picked up a cherry cream, a coconut haystack, a piece of s'mores bark, a turtle cluster and one of their homemade peanut butter cups. Again, everything was absolutely delicious. Its a nicely decorated shop inside. I believe it was the owner who waited on me both times and he was very friendly and patient, explaining what everything was. The prices are a tad high, but the quality of what you're getting from them is 100% worth the price. It's on Walton St, which is one of the easier downtown streets to find parking on, so that wasn't a problem. I don't find myself downtown much, but I would absolutely return in the future.

12 truffle sampler (there were at least double maybe triple as many options!)

Very friendly staff, beautiful store with wide selection of fancy chocolates, most of the truffles are dark chocolate but they make a few milk chocolates too. We got a build your own sampler for truffles and Oreos. Worth a visit!

Parking is on the street. Prices average $29.00lb I love bark, I could have gone crazy buying all their flavors so I chose a unique flavor. CINNAMON CHURRO BARK it was excellent. Great taste and you could taste the cinnamon. Spouse loves orange creams so got her a few and she really enjoyed the flavor with their milk chocolate. Potato chip covered in chocolate. Both dark and milk oh so good. Lastly graham cracker chocolate covered yummy. If you want a treat truffles are flavorful and you can go crazy with all their goodies. Pre ordered and it was boxed beautiful and was all ready for pickup

First, from the outside, it looks fairly typical, inside is clean, and has whatever type of candy or chocolate you desire. Amazing experience. They have a guest sign in sheet where you sign in, leave a message and place a pin in your hometown. The staff were friendly, helpful and just delightful to be around. I came for the fruity pebble bark. As luck would have it, it was one of the few things they were out of, it's popular, that's probably for a reason. So we got a couple of small bags of chocolate. I for milk chocolate covered pecans and my wife, dark chocolate covered toasted coconut. Their chocolate is next level good! I've been around, I frequent any local candy places I can. This was fresh, rich, flavorful. Some of the best chocolate I've had. Do yourself a favor and if you're in the Syracuse area, make Hercules candy a place you visit. You will be glad you did.

Ok, so I saw this cute video on YouTube about viral blue cream chocolates. I loved the look of the…read morecandies and the process of making them, and figured I'd try them out ... just once on a whim. My wife light heartedly teased me, "you did not just spend $$ on a box of candy from an unknown shop on the other side of the country!" I was worried about them surviving the trip to Fresno. Well, they arrived today, perfectly intact with a tiny bit of chill left in the cooler pack to keep them that way. My wife tried one (it's up to four, I think, now), and then she wanted to know the name of "this shop I found". She immediately dug up the shop's website and began picking favorites. Hercules now has two solid fans now in Fresno. My wife has been looking for years for a chocolate experience she's missed for all that time, and these provided that. It's fantastic that you can order light, dark, or mixed as well as creams, nuts, or mixed to get exactly the variety you like best. We got all dark and a mix of fillings. They are perfectly sweet without being cloyingly so. And both the chocolate and the cream inside are so smooth without a hint of the crystalization present in even premium brand mass-produced chocolates (think Godiva). I should probably add that I love them, too. But I had a feeling I would watching them being made, so that was kind of expected. The red creams are amazing! There were some crunchy toffee ones that I really loved as well. I haven't hit a blue one yet like in the video, oddly enough, but there are plenty more to go! We will definitely be having more shipped out this way before the 100°F summer months make that too risky.

As a Brooklyn boy I always found it odd there was no tip jar, we do things differently where I'm from. The prices for their goods is extremely good. Syracuse, take note of this and cherish your establishments. I walked out with two dozen donuts & a single danish cheese for $25. A famous national chain charges I think over $2.25 for a subpar donut. When I visit Cuse, I always stop here but this past time I feel the donuts were not as fresh as they once were, this could be very biased due to my experience and I don't go that often, the regulars will have better input in quality of the years. But what happened below is why I'm no longer stopping in. Saturday the 27th I pull into the parking lot and see a woman outside asking for change, very normal for me where I'm from. I don't say anything. I came inside to do a good deed, bring my neighbor and his children a dozen of donuts and grab a dozen for my family and an army buddy visiting from the west coast. I'm in a good mood. I never give people change, I always buy food. I decided I'll buy a cheese danish for the very thin woman outside in the cold. I add that to my order. Total $25 gave $30 and told the Wonderful Woman who took my order to keep the rest for herself. As I walk out, I offer the woman the cheese danish. She declined it. In a very rude way saying "she doesn't eat desserts". Now toots, you're in front of a damn bakery. People are more inclined to give you food as opposed to money so we don't support your clear drug habit. In Brooklyn where I'm from, the people like that still take the food, say thank you as it's still a kind gesture with good intentions and tosses it when you leave. That being said, there is no issue at this point. I say, "ok, have a good day and walk to my car". If the owner would like to review footage, it's the black 4Runner with NY disabled veteran plates. As I'm getting into my car, the same woman screams at me. Saying "bounce b-I-t-c-h" and telling me I better leave. Of course I reply with every profanity known to man and leave. The next morning I go again to take two donuts for my drive back to Brooklyn. Guess who's there? Yup the same delusional woman. Asks again for change and I tell her, "not after the way you treated me yesterday, I'll probably never give someone anything again that asks". Then she says "why does this man come here? I walk inside, order my two donuts and receive great service from the gentleman with glasses, who I gave a $1 tip to in two donuts. As I'm walking out another customer in the waking into the parking lot of course hands her a dollar. I told him my experience and he still chose too, hey it's America do what you wish. But when this broad is here every day, it's because people keep giving her money. But hey, his choice. And I'll do as I wish. I will no longer be coming to a Harrison Bakery. If they allow a delusional person to sit for hours everyday on THEIR property to accost/ harass customers, they cleary do not value us as customers to have a great peaceful experience. The donuts & Black & Whites are not that good to have to ruin my vibe. It's their property. Harrison bakery is 100% responsible of who is on their property and for what purpose. Syracuse PD will have no issue with issuing a no trespass for this person who literally stands or lays against the brick wall all day. Keep in mind. This is coming from someone who literally grew up in homeless shelters from time to time, even a bit of time at the Vera house down the road.
