This place is new and spotless inside. You can sample the frozen yogurt flavors if you ask the cashier for assistance. I tried the cherry amaretto and Oreo as samples. I ended up getting chocolate, Oreo and peanut butter. All three really really creamy. I loved that it tasted like real cream and that the consistency wasn't icy, loose or thin. The appearance wasn't see-through like some loser qualities of frozen yogurt are. There were so many topping options. I got cereal marshmallow, walnuts, coconut flakes and chocolate crumbles. I loved how the cereal marshmallow and chocolate crumbles juxtaposed the soft froyo by adding a nice crunch. The value was great. My fiancé and I had two small cups that were full and it cost a little over $13. My bowl was enough to feed two people. On each table, they have a little bowl of trivia questions for anyone to play. They sell ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes as well. The ceiling is decorated with butterfly wings and strawberry shaped lanterns. There is plenty of parking and there is indoor and outdoor seating. There are no tables outdoors however but there are colorful lounge chairs.

The blackberry yogurt was amazing! Not too sweet and not too tangy but creamy and light.

Delicious but super pricey. Typically $10-$15 for two people getting smalls. Tons of options though.

They have a good amount of ice cream and a couple options of soft serve. This ice cream is the same ice cream they serve at this local joint in Slyvan Beach that we just went to. I know it's going to be good. Shakes, sundaes and some other treats were also available! I would totally give this joint 5 stars but the customer service really docked them. There were 2 girls working behind the window. Neither one of them were nice. You'd think working at an ice cream joint you'd have a fun personality, nope. It was a pretty cut and dry interaction with them. It's too bad, they were cute girls but their attitudes was so ugly. I got myself a Jr sized chocolate and vanilla soft serve on a sugar cone. It was the perfect size for me! The soft serve was so good! The chocolate was chocolatey! I was still pretty full from dinner so it was hard working on the jr cone. My father in law got a small in a waffle cone and that baby was huge! He finished it like a champ. I can see this joint being a lot of fun in the summer. Especially when the ice cream parlor officially opens. I had a really good cone from this joint. It could have been that much better if the staff was actually nice.

They have great flavors and their ice cream is delicious. I love their chocolate ice cream, but I've tried other flavors here too. Grab a hot dog, and then grab an ice cream!

I stumbled upon Big Dip when I first moved to the area two years ago, as it's by my chiropractor…read more I'd dubbed it my favorite spot in town, but I think it may have been bested recently by a competitor or two. On my last visit, my milkshake was practically milk and no bueno. I was with my mom during that trip, and she reminded me I also had a bad milkshake there at the end of last season. The problem is that it tends to be busy that bringing it to the attention of an employee means cutting the line...I did reach out via social media and I was told to order milkshakes 'thick' going forward. I went this past Thursday and ordered a vanilla cone with sprinkles. The vanilla was way too soft, and shouldn't have been served. I think that might have been the issues with the milkshakes-- the ice cream isn't actually the way it should be. My mom's chocolate peanut butter cone was fine, however. With prices being what they are and my last 3 to 4 trips having been underwhelming/super disappointing, I think it is time for me to move on from the Big Dip.

They get real mad when you get up there and try to lick it. They say it's no real ice cream but I know that's not true! I came in the middle of the night with a ladder, climbed up and started munching that ice cream before the police intervened. It's real ice cream! Real delicious ice cream! I don't know how they keep it from melting up there, but whatever they are doing it's working. Once a year I think they should let some lucky person eat the big giant ice cream on the roof.

It's funny how you miss a crock and paint stirrer full of mustard in the old days. White birch beer and Byrne Dairy Chocolate Milk all had been missed. I would hate to see this place ever fold. I don't think it will.

Growing up, Heid's…read morewas such a summer staple, so now that I've moved back home, it only felt right to make my way here. Heid's has that old-school, cafeteria-style setup where you go down the line to get your food. It's simple, classic, and honestly gives me Happy Days vibes. The menu is straight comfort food--hot dogs, chicken tenders, Philly cheesesteaks, sausages with peppers and onions, and more. They also have deserts like brownies, cookies & chocolate cake. They do server beer and have lots of fountain drink options as well. I got a Gianelli sausage with cheese fries and chili. Ummm --it was so good. The fries could've used just a little more salt and pepper, but that sausage hit the spot. My mom got a sausage with cheese fries and macaroni salad and loved it. No complaints here! Next door is Sweet Treats, their ice cream stand, and it's the perfect way to end your meal. They've got soft serve, hard ice cream, milkshakes, smoothies, flurries--you name it. My mom got a raspberry-lime sherbet twist, and I went all in with cookie dough chocolate chip ice cream mixed with vanilla, topped with whipped cream and caramel syrup. So refreshing and delicious. If you are ever in the Syracuse/Liverpool area, I definitely recommend trying Heid's at least 3 times in your life. It's affordable, family-friendly, and full of nostalgia. They also have live bands on Wednesdays, car shows, outdoor seating, and community events for kids throughout the year. Definitely tastes exactly the way I remember. If you do decide to try out Heid's, leave me a comment and let me know how you liked it!
