Wow such a cute authentic Taiwanese snack joint with a good selection of snacks and food. Authentic flavours that remind me of growing up in Taiwan! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and is decorated to feel like dining in the streets of old Taiwan. The service was prompt and friendly, definitely better than what you get at most Asian dessert places. We tried the minced pork on rice which was delicious but the rice was a tiny bit overcooked. We also tried the warm tofu with peanuts, red bean and taro balls. The tofu was great and they gave TONS of toppings. If one tries to finish all the toppings with the tofu, it is probably a bit too sweet. However, we got the leftover toppings to go and would make an easy delicious dessert at home. The prices are very reasonable and they give free chilled wintermelon tea which was delicious. Definitely need to check out this place for authentic delicious Taiwanese snacks and desserts. Another Taiwanese dessert place opened up in Richmond and for less than half the price of the other, I gotta swing by and try it out. Been craving silky tofu dessert for a while now so we got that and the jasmine jelly with trio colored yam and mochi. Both desserts were delicious and capped off our quota for the night. Left feeling stuffed and craving for more of their wintermelon tea. Will definitely comeback for savoury snacks and dessert (hot grass jelly, I see ya!). Sooooo, this is a funny review for me because I didn't actually try the food here, which may or may not be good, but I am going to write a review because we did go to the place. Parking: around the corner in the lot Ambiance: This place is easy to miss because it's sort of in a deserted looking complex and there are no windows so you can't tell there is anyone there. We drove by it twice before my son spotted the sign outside. It's tiny, and they have small tables that you sit at. The decor reminds me of Jiufen (old historic town in Taiwan) - this is where they get 2 stars. It felt like you entered a time warp into the past, with old wooden walls and Chinese script of papers. Chinese opera dolls take up a good section of one wall. Although the place looked really cool, it smelled bad. It smelled like durian. My son and I stood there for a few minutes, then quickly exited in order to breathe outside. Service: They were busy, every table was taken, we were standing there for a few minutes and no one came by. Food: I don't know. Atmosphere/Decoraton 5/5 - When you walk in, you feel like you're in a different continent, and a different time period. - There's red lanterns hanging up with lots of nostalgic Taiwanese memorabilia decorating the oldschool looking concrete/brick walls. - The music also fits the restaurant very well - Lastly there's a dope ass Taiwanese puppet/doll display in the restaurant. Food (good) - Intestine appetizer was nice and juice. - The red tea/free bottomless tea is based. - deserts are solid but not really different from other places in vancouver - the special rice dishes are on point (not sure what they're called). This is a traditional Taiwanese dessert place located on an inner street near Superstore. This isn't your typical dessert place. Upon walking in, you would notice the dim lighting, old Chinese style pictures?, and wooden benches. Complimentary tea is served in small glasses (similar to beer glasses) and to be honest, I didn't like the tea. It is authentic sweetened (barley?) tea. The menu is quite extensive. There are Taiwanese hot dishes and snacks (minced meat on rice), bubble tea, tofu pudding, and shaved ice. I ordered a tofu pudding with a soy milk base, which I thought was a tad pricey ($6-$7) without any toppings. I like the addition of ice to keep the dessert cold and the portion was quite generous and filling. To me, I didn't find the pudding particularly smooth and silky. It was like drinking soy milk from a bowl. Service was quite good as well. I swear there was a male server in a black t-shirt and gel hair who was giving off John Travolta from Grease vibes. Sweet Memory is one of those places that gets more popular at night. However, parking is a horrendous. There is a small parking lot next to the plaza, but has limited parking and only one entrance/exit. read more

If you've ever been to Taiwan before, or haven't been back for a while, walking into this place will give you a strong nostalgic feel. It's got that really nice calm and traditional vibe to it from its decor to the seating. At least, that's what me and my friend felt. When we went, we ordered Taiwanese meat sauce on rice, tofu pudding with peanut add-on, grass jelly dessert, oolong milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea with pearls. After ordering, we were served wintermelon tea in a pot which was a very pleasant, unexpected surprise! The tea was light, slightly sweet, and refreshing. You could argue that it's a watered down wintermelon tea, but at no extra charge, it's definitely nothing you can complain about. The Taiwanese meat sauce on rice was slightly lackluster. Aside from all the expected components being there, it lacked significantly in flavour. It had good fatty and melty texture, portion was decent, just not much flavour in my opinion. 2.5/5 The grass jelly dessert was decent. Couldn't say more about it to be honest, you get what you ask for. If you love grass jelly, they most certainly give you your money's worth. 3.5/5 The tofu pudding dessert with peanut add-on was, for the both of us, the highlight. It had rich tofu flavour and was slightly sweet. Served in a traditional way, it had a little bit of brown sugar ice on top giving it a very refreshing bite while adding a subtle sweetness. The peanut add-on, in my opinion, is a must! It really adds a different element of the nuttiness of the dish that pairs really well with the tofu. 5/5 The oolong milk tea was standard, strong oolong flavour, and probably used milk powder like most (basically all) places do... ‍ 3.5/5 I didn't have the brown sugar milk tea with pearls, but my friend didn't like it at all. - Overall, I'd rate this place 4-4.5 stars (bonus points for the nostalgic feel). Service was standard, food has its highlights, and overall, not a bad visit. Would definitely come back if I was in the area for that tofu dessert! read more

The decor of the restaurant is very unique. Pig ears were pretty good. Skewers tasted weird because of the sweet sauce they put on. The sweetness really didn't go well with the savory skewers. Been here twice and both experiences were good for drinks and dessert. The decor is a little strange in my opinion but the overall ambiance is enjoyable with a more or less natural setting consisting of stone and wood with low lighting. My first visit was with family where we each ordered a different dessert and shared amongst ourselves. We ordered the tofu pudding dessert with red bean, the coffee pudding and grass jelly each with syrup which were all alright. We also ordered a dish of the taro and yam balls which is an ok addition. Overall I would give a 3.5 star review for this experience. The second visit was with a friend and we ordered the garlic pork slice dish which was great with beer. I was curious about the red plum beer tea which incidentally was an excellent drink at the time; It was not overly sweet and was lightly sour with some fruit pulp to it. I would rate a 4.5 star review for this instance. Already recommended this establishment to a couple groups. Can definitely see myself coming back on a regular basis if I had time. The atmosphere and decorations are very unique and the staff are very polite and professional. I haven't tried their food yet so I can't comment on that but the teas and desserts are all made there and taste very different from what you get in any other place. Had the old memory milk tea and tofu dessert. Bubble tea was perfect; not too sweet and the pearls were soft and sweet. The tofu dessert with red beans was also nice. The slightly mushy red beans paired well with the warm and sickly tofu. Recommend this place for dessert, and will try for dinner next time. read more
