I feel quite loyal to Sweet Heart, this unassuming little place located near the movie theater between Cushing and Waverley Squares. Ever since the Tall Man and I stumbled across it back in 2019, only a couple months after they opened, we've made it our go-to local boba shop. I like my boba drinks quite simple, and being dairy free also limits my options. I nearly always get the classic black or green bubble tea sweetened with honey, with less ice and 30-50% sugar. The bubbles are a good chewy texture, never over cooked, and slightly but not overly sweet like Kung Fu Tea's. Without fail, the Tall Man gets a taro milk tea or smoothie ("tea" isn't quite the right term, since there's zero tea thus zero caffeine) with mango popping boba. A creamy winner that's less sweet than competitors'. They also sell ice cream (typical flavors, although I wish they would offer Chinese/Taiwanese ones like taro and matcha) and used to have cake, but I haven't seen the pastries lately. A couple things to note: - The owner is very kind and runs the place with her family. At times she's the only one there, though. If there's a wait (mostly gaggles of high school students), be patient, and she'll get your order right. - Over the years, I've learned not to show up in the first 30 minutes after opening, to ensure that the boba is ready (the tapioca balls need to be cooked, then sweetened and preferably cooled down). It's possible the owner has changed her preparations since the early years, but this is now an engrained habit of mine so I haven't been there early enough to verify. - Not open on Mondays, including holidays that happen to be Mondays (like this year's July 4th). read more

small location. Only 1 employee was there when i walked in on a Saturday. The teas are your average prices in my opinion. I asked for less sugar and the teas were not as sweet as other places. This is a great alternative if you don't want to trek to Kung Fu tea in Somerville/Allston or Gong Cha in Burlington. I think this place will get better as it matures. Also surprised to see ice cream here. I wonder if they make it by hand or just buy it somewhere else. The flavors seem typical; was expecting more "asian" flavors such as green tea, black sesame, red bean, lychee, etc... Will be back due to the close proximity. the boba at sweet heart is pretty good! it's not too sweet and they have various sugar and ice levels you can choose from. i ordered the large sweet heart black milk tea for $5.50. medium drinks are mostly $4.99. they also have smoothies and ice cream. there's usually no line and service is quick. the baristas are friendly and kind. street parking is available right outside the boba shop. overall rating: 10/10 read more

My friend and I just drove by and wanted some boba. There wasn't a lot of places to sit inside, only three barstools in the front window. We stopped in and ordered the taro smoothie and taro milk tea with strawberry jelly. They ran out of boba when we walked in. Both drinks were good. read more

I love this place. It is the closest boba tea shop for us and it has always been a solid tea place. The woman behind the counter is always friendly and attentive. I just like my tea plain with quarter sugar and it is always done right and the fruit flavors are refreshing. My daughter loves their boba and recently told me it is the best and freshest that she has ever had (which is saying a lot since we have been drinking boba for over 10 years now). If I had a complaint it would be that they need more help behind the counter because this place is always busy when I pop by. read more

This stretch of Trapelo is a bit of a barren land when it comes to good eats. When I saw this place was there just a few doors down from my hair salon, I had to try it. This is a powder-mix type of boba place. Would have been great in the 90's but nowadays there is just too many better boba places to go to to use up your precious hard earned cash ($5-6 for a med size boba) on this artificial tasting stuff. We got three of the smoothies - which seemed like a slushee. Passable, but too fake flavor wise. Very sad that there still isn't anything worth getting in this area. Caveat: my elementary school aged kids loved their smoothies. So if you don't consider yourself a boba enthusiast this place might be just fine. read more

Had some ice cream here. It was decent, a bit too sweet. The interior is a bit cramped; only 4 stool seats available, and if there are other people using even 2 of those seats, it's awkward to use the other two seats, as it might feel as if you're interfering in their space or conversation. This place is pretty good! Can't tell if this is a chain or not, but the menus seem pretty professionally done so I assume so. I've had a couple different teas with boba and all have been pretty tasty. They have a bunch of other toppings too- various jellies and the like. They do smoothies as well, a small pastry selection and have a small assortment of ice cream too. My kids said the ice cream tasted great- I thought it tasted pretty generic but hey, they liked it. The customer service was really good. A Thai tea smoothie was not included on the menu but I asked for it and the server said that she could make it for me. It did take a while to make, but it tasted really good tho. Overall, this was my fourth time going there and I will keep going back. My mother, friend, and brother also enjoyed the experience. Really excited about a having a local bubble tea place, but the few times that we've been have been disappointing. The bubble tea seems watered down and bland. The service is nice, but really slow... Not a problem if you're not in a hurry (and it's understandable since there is usually only one employee working). I really want to see this business succeed so I'm hoping that they revise their recipes a bit. Haven't tried any of their desserts; hopefully they are better. Definitely willing to return to give them another try in the future. read more

I love this place! The employees are incredibly friendly and are eager to make your drink exactly the way you like. Even when busy, they are always smiling and happy to help their customers. I go here frequently because of the excellent service and quality (this is coming from a bubble tea addict - I have been to Kung Fu Tea in Davis, Boston Tea Stop in Harvard, and Tbaar). It's small, but a relaxing atmosphere with nice décor and good energy. I've never had the ice cream, but I tried the Oreo mousse cake once and loved it too :) overall, definitely a small business worth supporting in Belmont! read more

It was not cold though there were a few ice cubes floating on top and normal was VERy sweet- I typically don't ask for less sweet when I get milk teas. Nice to have one in the area though! read more

Not bad for a local spot. It does cost a little more than most boba places, but definitely worth it for something local, no wait, easy parking (for a Wednesday night after dinner) and similar good taste. Quiet place with one person working (she was pleasant), and no seating. Hopefully I'll get to try other items on the menu soon! read more

Super happy this place opened up! Had to go a little far afield to get boba before now. The boba is great and they have milk foam! Super tasty. The owners are also super nice and welcoming. My two friends and I went after school to try it out. When we walked in, there was no one there. We ordered two simple drinks and it took 20 MIN!! The machine was broken.
