Finally trying out this place. Took me awhile as I am generally not a huge fan of Asian fusion places. Ordered take out via phone, and paid inside. The sushi was OK. I am writing a review again after 8 years. Yes - I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years now. Their menu has changed a bit, and now they have a kids menu as well. This works out great for us, and we can still come for a meal with our 5-year old. There are tons of vegetarian options at this place from sushi rolls, to salads, to pad thai, noodles, and fried rice. They will happily make anything vegetarian for you. Here are the things I love: - Basil Fried Rice: Love the way they make it. You can tell them how spicy you want it, and they will adjust. - Pad Thai: Love this dish still....so flavorful. Make sure to tell them if you want it with or without eggs. - Drunken Noodles: Loved the way it was prepared. I finished the whole plate. I asked them to make it mild, and it was cooked with the perfect amount of spice. - Thai Basil Sauce with vegetables: This usually comes with chicken, and I asked them to make it with veggies. I loved it. The sushi rolls are decent. But they can be more creative with the veggie rolls instead of just offering the basic cucumber, avocado, radish etc rolls. I have been to several Sushi restaurants where the veggie rolls are amazing and a mix of many things. Maybe in the future they will offer better veggie rolls as well. Overall - a great place to dine. This is a neighborhood favorite, and you will often find it crowded over the weekend for dinner. Its a hidden gem with tons of vegetarian options. So go try it out for sure. read more

MINA C. and I met up here for an early dinner date, and we were able to catch their Happy Hour specials. We ordered a Spicy Yellow Tail Roll, a Spicy Salmon Roll, a Spicy Tuna Roll, Chicken Yakitori (2 skewers), seaweed salad, and a dish of vegetable and shrimp tempura. I wasn't really a fan of the tuna roll, as I usually prefer my tuna to be chopped and more saucy (personal preference)! The Salmon and the Yellow Tail were both pretty good, with an okay ratio of the rice and the filling with a nice thicker and spicy creamy sauce. The tempura were all super crispy with the tempura batter being more on the thicker side - I just wished these were served super hot and right out of the fryer! The yakitori was okay; the chicken themselves were slightly bland, but the sauce was pretty tasty. Service was friendly and attentive, and we had our waters refilled often. The place has a dark red and black decor going on. I think this is a decent spot to stop by, order some drink specials and rolls. I am curious about their bento boxes as well as their specialty rolls, so maybe I'll try these out on the next visit! Service is excellent, never stopped refilling our water and checking in from time to time. Waitstaff was very attentive all the servers seemed to be ready and willing to help guests no matter who was assigned to our table. Food was good, fresh and flavorful. Prices were reasonable. The place is small and when we arrived quite full, so the noise level was a bit high, but it thinned out and was fine. Found Sweet Ginger while my boyfriend and I were in the area and craving a bento box. The restaurant is cute and modern inside although it looks unfortunate from the outside - if not for the neon open sign, we would have expected the restaurant to be closed. We were greeted immediately and seated, and we had no complaints about service during our experience. The menu was a little bit confusing as I was reading through the bento box options, and I wish there was an option to have a sushi roll other than a California roll, even if that meant less of the other elements. The bento box is definitely a good portion though, and we were definitely filled after it. The tempura shrimp and veggies were great - very crisp and crunchy - probably my favorite part. I also enjoyed the salad more than most other Japanese places. I got the steak teriyaki but it was odd to me that the steak was a light-colored meat. It was a little chewy, but not bad. We also tried the wonton soup, and for me it was a little sweet for my liking but it was also odd that there weren't any wontons in it. Luckily we asked about it and it had just been a mistake. Our server was very nice about it and actually brought us an entire other order of soup to take to go. Overall, we had a good experience. The food was good for the value, generally tasty, but just nothing that was amazing for a bento box - I would be eager to try dinner in the future here! read more

One of my favorite Asian restaurants in the area. I typically go for the sushi, but have tried many other items on the menu. For sushi, some of my favorites are the Red Dragon, Omega 3, and the Mexican. From the menu, you should definitely try the Peking Duck Roll which is not sushi but a variation on Peking Duck served in the style of an egg roll. A great concept with amazing flavor. The boy and I are all-star members of the clean plates club but our shared plate of spicy tuna, spicy lobster, and Beauty and the Beast rolls were left mostly uneaten. The fish was a bit mushy and drenched in sauce. You could barely make out any of the different flavors in any of the rolls, it just tasted sweet. We also ordered the avocado tuna salad with honey miso dressing which was ok, but also drenched in sweetness. I drank about three cups of green tea to wash the flavor out of my mouth. This place was really good! I came with a group of us 4 girlfriends on a Fri night. Luckily, no wait for a booth. We were so undecided on what to order, but settled on the "sushi for 2" platter, which came with 12 pieces (chef's selection) sushi, 24 rolls (spicy tuna, salmon, eel, something else). It was big! I'd say it's one of the top chinese/japanese places I've been to...just because it has a lot of options, a nice (not overdone) easy atmosphere. It has a warm feeling to it, probably because of the red-ish lighting. Food: I recommend the Pad Thai--good size and yummy. I also don't usually get fried rice (because I'm Asian and it's one of the easiest things to make in the world) but I had a craving so I got it. It's a REALLY BIG PORTION and if I didn't have it for take out, it would've come in a cool round wok looking thing. It's full of flavor, has chicken, pork, veggies, onions, everything! It was really delicious...and so satisfying. My friend gets sushi there and he says it's also very good. The service is very friendly and the manager was trying hard to cater to my taste. I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for and he tried to get a taste for my taste and he was willing to make a special dish for me.
