We ended up at the Metairie location, which ended up being very convenient since there is substantial parking right out front, which is rare in N.O. It's in a modern shopping center but still has that quaint feel of the original location. The staff immediately greeted us when we came through the door and were very attentive and knowledgeable. We were there just before the after school rush and timed everything perfectly. I was planning to get a different flavor this time, but I ended up with my old standby, Red Velvet. This stuff is so good it's illegal in 49 states. It's subtle and perfectly understated by the chunks of cake mixed throughout. It's what keeps me coming back. My wife got a scoop each of the Peanut Butter Cup and the Cookie Monster. Both were absolutely delicious, as I can personally attest since I stole a bite of both. All in all, I can't wait to go back. For years he's wished for a macadamia nut cookie cake for his birthday, and PFT made that dream come true. Not only was it delicious and perfectly moist but we ate off it for over a week and it never got stale. It was also very affordable, about $60 for a huge cookie cake. This was the only place I could find that would make a macadamia nut version, and they absolutely nailed it. I asked for simple decorations, and it turned out beautiful. Ordering was a breeze, and the owner made the process so easy. I'll definitely be back next year to order the exact same cake as this will be our new tradition going forward.

Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment.
