With the pandemic slowing we've been able to go back to restaurants we've always enjoyed. We've had brunch at Sweet Breads twice in 3 weeks. Delicious! And the waitresses were very friendly and went out of there way to make sure we had what we needed. We'll be back soon! read more

Just had the Reuben sandwich. Most of it was more like a sauerkraut and dressing sandwich with very little corned beef. For $16! Cmon man.

I can't say enough great things about Sweet Breads. The food is delicious and all made in-house. I definitely recommend the blintzes, mimosas, and Sweet Breads breakfast entree with sweet milk gravy and biscuit. This is easily the best food we've had in Georgia. Food aside, the atmosphere in Sweet Breads is top-notch. They showcase original art that rotates regularly (currently featuring a NYC artist), and the design of the space is vibrant and energetic. The restaurant is incredibly clean, with all employees wearing masks, washing hands, and showing care and concern for team members and guests alike. Finally, the service is next level. We were regularly checked on and our needs were accommodated at every opportunity. We will be back ASAP. read more

The atmosphere is nice and service is very good. I was super excited to try this place because I was staying in Demorest for a while. I tried Sweet Breads the first time and was not impressed with my meal, at all. I wanted to give them a second chance and went again...and it was worse. The fish was not cooked through, even after sending it back. And the sides were not very good at all. For the price you pay, I would hope to really enjoy the food. Would not recommend, but then again if you're in Demorest you may not have a choice. read more

Wow ,stop for breakfast before they open and they offer me coffee ,while they getting ready ,i was blown away by the hospitality of everyone ,even the owner came to my table and told me they should b ready in couple minutes ,they just prepping the hollandaise. Wife got the French toast and was really good ,I got the eggs Benedict .was good it was serve on top of white Italian Bread the wish it was toasted ,tasted like regular white sliced bread ,flavor was good But besides that everything was so good . read more

The lone dissenting voice. The Area: There are very few options in this area. If you are up for hiking or just live there, Sweetbreads is fine for brunch. Although, for the demographic it seemed on the pricey side. The menu: They don't have a website and the menu changes regularly, so take a look at Facebook for photos of current menus. Ambiance: The patio is great. It is large and able to accommodate large or small parties. The decor is eclectic? That feels like a nice way of saying that there is a lot going on. Something Asian, something baroque, the southern style patio, and then the name. None of it really made sense to me. Restaurant ambiance matters to me, but I realize it doesn't matter to everyone. Brunch - I forgot what we ate. This is noteworthy. I tend to remember what I ate whether it is good or bad. This may be because of the profusion of bees. I think I was mostly focused on all the bees flying around my table. We did not get stung That is important. But, if a restaurant plants flowers that attract bees very close to a place people will be sitting, it is possible that the bees will distract from the experience. Easy fix is, of course, to sit inside. If you don't like bees, you might choose that option. The coffee was not great. This is the deal breaker for me when I am having breakfast or brunch. If you like your coffee on the weaker side, you may find this just right. Parking: there is a large lot in the back. If I am in the area and looking for coffee (I am always looking for coffee), I stop in at Java Joe's (they use batdorf and bronson beans). Nutshell: Often small town cafes have unexpectedly good food in a charming environment. Sweetbreads is fine, but it is not a hidden gem. read more

Went there for my birthday dinner. Had their version of shrimp and grits. I'm from New Orleans originally and have had shrimp and grits since I was an infant. There version was horrible. The shrimp were small not jumbo, they were burned over what smelled like a wood fire , and there were large lumps of zukini in the grits that were not fully cooked. The grits were the only thing that was good. My friend had there chicken pasta and she had trouble finding any chicken in her pasta and it was very bland tasting. They only have one salad dressing for their salads, what's with that??? One dressing, take it or leave it?? The desert was the highlight of the evening. The bill left me feeling like I had just been robbed, 80 bucks for what I just ate?? They must have had a new chef in, because I've gotten good food there before. Not sure what happened to the old sweet breads I use to enjoy when it was in Clarksville. Won't be coming back again. read more

Nice!! We tried this once about 6 months ago and it was mediocre- not worth a return trip! Last night we tried it again- it was wonderful, fresh, fabulous, FANTASTIC! Had our taste buds doing the jitter bug- Our waitress went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy! The owner stopped by our table to make sure we were happy with everything- that is the first time that has happened in any of the restaurants we have eaten at down here! We love non chains!! As bistro style food goes, I haven't had anything this good in Athens for even 50% more, and the decor and service are really quite special, to boot. Neither have I had anything any better even in Decatur, Atlanta, Roswell or Alpharetta and rarely even anything this good. Ditto Chicago and New York. I had the meatloaf sandwich, and it was really special with Angus beef and ground pork in a near perfect blend--chipotle and poblano pepper cheese mixed in, wrapped in thick cut apple smoked bacon on a melt-in-your mouth bun. Served with a cup of expertly crafter tomato bisque soup and complimented with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had anywhere (superbly fried to seem almost crisp-grilled on the exterior while soft and sweet on the interior and expertly salted with what seemed like a sea salt of some sort), I'd drive fifty miles for this again with only half an excuse to do so. My host had a very delicious looking quiche and my meal was followed by a delicious espresso. Desserts looked very tempting but I was too full. Highly recommended!! I'll be back, Lee. What a delicious surprise and treat! The outdoor porch is so pretty! It had all types of flowers, herbs and magical lights! The food was excellent!!! The bread was homemade. My husband and I usually skip it, but this time we could not help ourselves. It was worth every single calorie!!! My youngest daughter proclaimed it was her favorite meal while on vacation... The service was a bit slow, but the server was beyond kind and apologetic. The food, kindness and did I mention scrumptious desserts more than made up for it!!! A MUST visit if in town. read more

They decorated the tables beautifully (we didn't even need to use the decor we brought). The manager was so helpful and nice - he put up with all of our crazy questions and requests. My husband and I were leaving the North Georgia area and happened upon this little jewel. We had a beautiful brunch and such a sweet server. We shared the brunch plate and it was plenty for two hearty appetites! The mimosas looked really good but we didn't partake. Cute little town and super brunch. Where do I begin? From the moment you enter this eclectic establishment you know you are in for an exceptional experience. The far eastern decor gives you a sense of peace and that you are there to relax and enjoy your meal. The servers are attentive but not overbearing. The two owners and chefs make it a pint to come out from the kitchen to welcome you. On my recent visit I was given a sample of the chicken salad. Making it difficult to decide if I liked my quiche better, I decided I liked them equally. Your taste buds are in for a delightful experience. I have to comment on the restrooms. In addition to being very clean they were decorated in tones and lights that made you feel very special. Small touches like hand lotion and mouthwash ended my experience in high notes.
