I've had the country fried steak and the meat loaf and liked them both. The staff was friendly as well. I'll definitely come back

The food is great. We have been here several times and we never get disappointed. We travel 45 minutes to get here but it's worth the drive.

Stopped by Cottage House Restaurant in Cleveland and this place is exactly what you want if you're…read morelooking for a solid, no-frills Southern breakfast. First off, the setup is super easy. You walk in, grab a tray, and you've got options. You can go through the hot bar and get served right there, pay, and be on your way... or order off the menu, sit down, and they'll bring the food to you. Very simple and efficient. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating, and there's also outdoor seating if you want it. Parking is easy too, which is a big plus, especially compared to the chaos you'll run into closer to Helen. Food wise, I always judge breakfast spots by the chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit... and this one held up. The chicken was tender, the biscuit was soft and fresh, and overall it was a solid start. The surprise for me was the hashbrown casserole. It came out good, but once I added a little salt, the flavor really popped. Definitely worth getting. The pancakes were also done right... nice crispy edges with a soft, fluffy inside. That's exactly how pancakes should be. Menu wise, they've got everything you'd expect from a Southern breakfast spot... biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, pancakes, omelets, and even lunch style items like burgers and plate meals if you come later. They also have a Coca-Cola fountain, which is always a win. Service was friendly, especially for early morning, and the whole place just has that comfortable, old-school home cooking feel. There is also a drive thru if you don't feel like leaving your car. Overall, this is a great spot if you want a good breakfast without the crowds. Simple, tasty, and easy.

Served sizzling in the pan, juicy to the bone, fell apart like butter. Those wood-fired grills, imported from Italy, fire up everything: pizzas with dough stretched daily, crust blistered just right; breads warm, crusty outside, pillowy in. Pure comfort overload. Oh, and the bolognese--silky ragu clinging to fresh pasta, slow-cooked forever. Every bite screams Italy: the aroma, the way it settles heavy on your tongue. Makes you forget you're not actually in Naples. Their food isn't just good, it transports you, straight to someone's nonna's table. Wood fire, imported grills, honest bread--it's all so true. And the wines! They don't just hand you a glass--they pair. Every dish, every sauce has a buddy tucked in their list. We walk in, see that maybe 75% of the tables are occupied. We wait in line and place our order. I get chicken strips and fries, Megan gets a smash burger and fries. Then we sit at our table and wait. The decor is interesting, it is a random yet thorough collection of Americana memorabilia. We have a good opportunity to study it while waiting. This is the type of restaurant where you get up and refill your drinks at a fountain for soda or a pitcher for tea. I get up and get a refill. And another refill. And another refill. When we sat down they were serving number 2. We are number 16. Hamburger and fries, how long can it take? So we look around, slowly orders are getting delivered. Still waiting. About a quarter to three our number comes up. Yes, that's 1:15 we have been waiting. Chicken strips are a little overcooked and bland. Fries are good. Megan's burger is pretty good. There are other things on the menu that look interesting. I don't really want to wait that long though.

The waitress was friendly and attentive. The bar service was slow--received cocktail after eating bread and salad. Did not care for Caesar salad--very large, hub and I both ate off it and still 1/3 left. The romaine was not cut up and was basically a whole head of romaine with dressing drizzled over. Hub had Shrimp Alfredo and enjoyed it. I had mushroom risotto and the mushrooms were a mix and some were hard to cut. It was just ok. I did not finish it. Dessert was creme brûlée with a mix of berries on top and it was delicious. The prices for steaks were very high and easily shareable. They are known for their steaks. I found it a bit off-putting that everything was described with over-the-top descriptions by the waitress. I saw tables that ordered steak be presented with a box to choose a steak knife. A tad on the pretentious side to my liking. You can be upscale without the fanfare.

We also needed to do our laundry, there's our dinner spot had to be in the area of our laundry mat. Prerequisites: He looked for a menu, and the golden rule: if you look at Google pictures and there are NO Chinese people posting pictures, it's NOT legit food. A to Z Grocery and Chinese Food reminded me of the family owned establishments I'd visit when abroad. You could go to a restaurant, but the real deal would be in the back of a corner "everything" shop. What to expect: A small hole in the wall place with everything you need, even a slot machine in the back. The place had a steady stream of people coming in to get whatever they needed from cigarettes to chips and baking soda. They even make "American Food" hamburgers, fries, etc. This was straight up in the middle of nowhere, and looked kinda busted from outside. Okaaaay, I'm down 100%! We walked in to two white folding tables in the center of a small "everything" market. I knew I was in the right place. I asked the young man at the checkout counter, "are you still serving food?" It was 15 minutes before closing. Yes! I ordered the sweet & sour chicken and Crab Rangoons. (Safe rarely disappointing meal.) 2 minutes later I hear the fryer in the back being slayed over. Noice! Cooked to order. I asked if they had any rooster sauce for sale - my mission to find some after they factory stopped making it over a year ago is real. #facts The young man didn't know what rooster sauce was, but his family member came out with a BIG jar and knew what I was referring to. Those who know, KNOW! HIM:"They don't sell this anymore" ME: "I know!" None for sale, but they gave me a to-go cup full. Awe, how nice! Perfect for my corn beef hash Filipino style I planned to make for my Friday meal. The food came out SUPER hot! FYI this is "American" Chinese food, not the food you'd find in mainland China. I don't think my guy would eat that TBH. Unless it's duck. We got exactly what we were looking for: Hot, fresh, family owned, everything market food. They were closing a few minutes after we were served (9pm). The young man said we can eat, he "wouldn't mind staying after closing". I loved that. Left him a tip just for that. This will be our regular laundry night in Cornelia food spot. The drive to it is off the road - which is something we gravitate toward. Adventure time! I highly recommend A to Z Grocery and Chinese Food if you want quick & fresh American Style Chinese food. REASONS TO VISIT: 1.Reasonable prices 2. Great service 3. Family owned 4. Full menu 5. Decent flavors 6. Legit Chinese corner everything store ambiance
