SO MUCH food! We went during brunch on a Sunday and it was busy! We waited for maybe 20 minutes. But then service was super fast after that. I thought the grits had good flavor (especially for plain grits) and the biscuit was fluffy. The pancakes were fine, nothing special. This place was amazing!! After happening upon it on the way to acquire breakfast in Helen we decided to stop in and try something random...boy was that a good decision! Staff was amazing, food was amazing, came out quick and hot. We ended up leaving and going about our day only to stop yet again on the way back to the Airbnb to try out the lunch. Stopped after church on Sunday to have breakfast. I had the three egg breakfast and they did not charge a SURCHARGE for the Eggs like Waffle House/Huddle House. Eggs were cooked correctly, country ham was very good and the toast was very good also. Coffee was nice and hot and fresh. Staff was efficient, fast. Lil cabin is cute. Food.......pretty sure all frozen foods! Chili tasted canned. Wanted it to be good but unfortunately, it wasn't great. It was hot but the hubbys food order wasn't taken properly because from the get go apparently so they took his back to throw chili and cheese on his tots, which did not melt lol. Exactly what I expected from a cafe in the middle of nowhere. Just wish places like this bought/used everything local and fresh. Prob won't be back with all the really good places to eat in Clarkesville and other towns. And not against them cause they do have hours posted, but I wanted bfast. Used to be great when the legendary Steve was cooking, but that was years ago. Now it's just not tasty at all for breakfast. Rancid oil or something I dunno. And good luck getting crispy hash browns. The current "chef" thinks crispy means "greasy as hell." Not going back. Might be better for lunch but not gonna risk it, as the last sandwiches we got there were barely grilled at all and pretty poor. Aren't the owners of this place paying attention? Waffle House is coming to Clarkesville folks, so hold on, as this place will soon just be nothing more than a stop for tourists on the way to Helen. read more

A nice place to eat in the local area This is a restaurant that is located about 6 miles to the southeast of Helen on the north side of 17/255. It is a stand-alone building that was not difficult to find. It seems like a local's choice to me. It looks to be a converted house with a large gravel parking lot and lots of parking both in the front and the back. There is a porch with a front door that is the entrance directly in the center. You enter directly into the main room with wooden, floors and ceilings. There were about 9 4-person tables in the main room and additional seating both outside on the porch and in an adjacent room. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Even though it was pretty busy the waitress came out quickly and took my drink and food order. I ordered French toast and bacon. It came out quickly on plastic plates and real silverware. It tasted quite good and the price was reasonable. You pay at a counter in front of the kitchen to the right as you enter the main room. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this to my fellow travelers in the local area. read more

They serve EVERYTHING on plastic disposable plates, and in styrofoam cups, it's totally gross to be this environmentally UNconscious. I joked when I went to pay that I guess we should be happy u're not using plastic forks too. She just kinda chuckled like she had no clue, and she was my grandmas age, how was she not appalled too?! Who runs a whole ass restaurant serving everything on disposable plates?! At first we thought, maybe the dishwasher was broken, but seeing other reviewers complaining about it, going back months, we realize that's not the case. This is the only place my husband and I will stop for breakfast while visiting Helen. Our last visit was late September and we had breakfast here twice and brought several friends and family each time. We have never had a bad breakfast! They had recently reopened after making a few renovation and service changes. Although I have no complaints regarding the changes, they are now more of a self service, I'm not a fan of the disposable cutlery and plates/cups. I find them very wasteful. Please stop in if you are in the area, we will continue to stop here during our visits to Helen. read more

STC is a great place to go with excellent food and stellar service. We had breakfast there this morning and Taylor was our server. She was fantastic. Very attentive but not annoyingly so. The food was delicious (as always) and we had plenty of it. We eat here often and have never had a bad experience. I'm all for saving the environment, but hurting family style local restaurants that are providing a much needed service to the community just to push your own agenda is self serving at best. The service was pretty crummy. Our party of five arrived and we were directed to a table for four in corner with an extra chair squeezed in. We asked to wait for a larger table to open up. The server reluctantly agreed and we walked to the porch to wait. When the party at the large table left, we walked in to get that table. The server instead insisted on ANOTHER FOUR TOP WITH A CHAIR PULLED UP, stating that the six top was for larger parties. We gave up and sat at the cramped table. After a girl's night in Helen for Oktoberfest, we were looking for a place to have a *late* breakfast. We drove downtown to a bakery everyone loves and it was so full there were NO parking spaces, so we asked the parking attendant to give us a good recommendation and he pointed us to this place, just on the outskirts of town. It was not terribly crowded and we were seated right away. Our server was quick and kind and brought out our food right away. The interior was very bright, but clean and cute! The food was really delicious. The omelets were HUGE and the ham inside mine was cooked. I hate when they just put cold ham in an omelet! It really was flavorful. The grits were creamy and hearty. I opted for toast over the biscuit, but my friend said the biscuit was great! When I'm back in Helen, this will be my stop for breakfast again! read more

Service- Our server was wonderful. Without needing to be asked she brought an extra plate for our kids to share their breakfast. She was so kind and never rushed them. We never "needed" anything. As soon as our drinks emptied she was ready for refills and everything was readily available. Our food came out SO FAST! My kids barely had time to get bored! Food- Chocolate chip pancakes- my 2 kids shared these. My 6 year old ate 1 1/2 and my 4 year old ate the other half. My 4 your old reported they were the "good good goodest in the whole world". Solid parenting win for kids eating well before a big day! Eggs Benedict- I was expecting it to be a bit salty with the corn beef hash, sausage, and gravy. We rented a house nearby for a weekend getaway and stopped here for breakfast. The restaurant was clean and cozy, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious!! Our crew tried a little bit of everything - country ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, French toast, sausage gravy, and biscuits. It was all amazing! And they give extremely generous drink portions even on OJ and coffee. It was just like being in grandma's kitchen (dare I say....maybe even better!)
