Outstanding little restaurant that leans into its sweet tooth. After two recent visits I'm left…read morecompletely impressed. The staff is engaging and fun even thought the place is packed and sending out to go orders non stop. The breakfast I had was PLENTY. I had the big Mark breakfast. Bacon and hash were perfection. And of course it comes with the tart. Went back later for dessert and coffee. Over the top good.

I'd probably get 4 1/2 stars, but I'm being generous because the service was really above average!…read moreSo first we were running late due to traffic and parking issues and they were very happy to accommodate us no problem. Second, we had two kids, and you know as four-year olds they can be rambunctious and it was the perfect setting for a family meal. Third one of the first questions my server asked was what are we celebrating and I didn't think anything of it because we really weren't there to celebrate birthdays but since she asked, I said well actually we do have two birthdays! So she made sure to bring pop tarts for the kids at the end of the meal, complementary and they sang to us! Now I had a very long workday and the traffic and parking didn't help so when I saw they had a mimosa great I ordered it and it was in front of me within a few minutes! Second she mentioned how happy hour was ending very soon, but if we wanted the appetizer sampler, it was $18 and we said absolutely thanks so much. We also put in the kids order and they were able to eat pretty quickly after ordering because the service was very good. The adults ordered the Turkish eggs, which were very good although I might say the yogurt was a tad garlicky for my taste, but some people might be in for that. But otherwise great presentation very tasty dish. My husband enjoyed the chicken pickled sandwich and said it was tasty as well. So honestly, five stars for service, four for food, and five for hospitality. Definitely would return. Great experience.

Altani Gelato - Pistachio, Carrot Cake, Cheese Cake Gelato!

Great gelato and pastries! I don't like French pastries (that includes croissants especially), but…read moreI'll admit, they're actually quite good here! Typically, such pastries are too dry, stale-tasting, and crumbly for me, but here at this place, they're softer and fresher-tasting. Of course, they're still not as good as those in Montreal, Canada or France. But putting that aside... The croissants I tried here were almond, coconut chocolate, pistachio, pastrami, and chocolate twist ("chocolate torsade," with chocolate chips). Almond was boring and plain, pastrami was okay, but coconut chocolate, pistachio, and chocolate torsade were fantastic, all so indulgingly buttery and soft. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I could go back to this place just to have their croissants again! Wow, I never do this for ANY of that places (in the USA, at least. I'll gladly eat all croissants in Canada and France). ***However, do come earlier in the day for fresh pastries. Not 1-2 hours before closing time because I tried a pistachio croissant one night and it wasn't as good as I remembered--it tasted weirdly sweet, cinnamon-y, and creamy; there was no pistachio taste. It tasted so different from the first time I tried it! I think you really have to try it fresh so that you can truly taste the pistachio. Many of the gelato flavors were great. Extra dark chocolate was delicious and paired oh-SO-well(!) with amarena cherry. I'm not crazy about fruit in ice cream (or even any kind of cherry sweets), but that combo of dark chocolate and cherry was seriously DA BOMB! A must-try! Ferroro rochero (that was such a cool flavor!) and hazelnut were also fantastic. Mint, Nutella (very Nutella-y!), straciatella, and nocciola (hazelnut) were not as amazing but still very good. Please note that I'm biased towards chocolate, so non-chocolate flavors don't impress me much (well, except for that amarena cherry!). Pistachio, Oreo, Reese's, red velvet, and blood orange all ranged from "okay" to "good but nothing worthwhile." Raspberry was very tart, and mango was incredibly thick and creamy (I don't like mango and still don't like it after trying this flavor). Oh, and affogati was delicious. I really enjoyed that espresso.

This spot is located in the same building as Wiseguy Pizza and Khin Sushi…read more I was greeted immediately which is always a plus. They have a good variety of flavors to choose from. I'm a chocolate lover so I chose the Reeses and and Red Velvet flavors. Both were rich, creamy and tasty. The red velvet didn't really taste like red velvet to me but it was delicious. It just didn't give that signature flavor. Since they are located at the same counter as the sushi restaurant, it doesn't really feel like a gelato or ice cream shop but that isn't a dealbreaker. I would visit again.

Altani Gelato - Stracciatella & Pistachio. Gelato is my all time favorite but this was "hard & icy". Not creamy or satisfying. Flavor was good tho...

Their menu is simple with all the espresso classics, but they also had some interesting drinks that I wanted to try. I got the ELDERBERRY MATCHA since I was curious about the combination. The barista recommended whole milk (or non-dairy milk) since it doesn't take away from the elderberry and matcha flavors as much as non-dairy milk, and I completely agreed! The elderberry syrup popped through the matcha and it wasn't too sweet! The drink overall was very enjoyable and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. I'm glad I stopped by to give this cafe a try this past Saturday afternoon.

Nothing Fancy gets the job done…read more This cute little walk up coffee shop is high quality without overcomplicating things. The space itself is only big enough to fit a handful of people at a time (with no seating) but it's great for a grab and go experience. While I've never actually had any of the soft serve that people rave about, their coffee bar drinks are great. Over the summer I would usually order and iced latte or Vietnamese coffee, both always made with love and care. The aesthetics of the space are top notch as well - I always feel so good once I walk in. Great option overall if you're in the mood to grab some coffee or ice cream on the go!
