I got my usual matcha soft serve on a cone and it came in a huge swirl on a waffle cone. The ice cream had a strong matcha flavor and was creamy and fluffy. I will say I had this at 9:30 pm and couldn't sleep due to the strength of the matcha but that goes to show that they really put a good amount! A great place to have some quick dessert in Fort Lee!

It turned out the red bean was spoiled, so I had to go back and ask them to remake the drink without it. This time, on 12/27 around 5:30 PM, I ordered a hojicha latte. After placing my order, I noticed there was a free size upgrade promotion running throughout December, so I asked if my drink could be upgraded. The staff member said no, explaining that it had to be done while ordering for the promotion to apply. That excuse felt very lame and honestly came across as laziness, especially since it was a free upgrade and could have easily been accommodated. At another Maiko location (Garden State Plaza), the staff proactively informed me about the promotion and asked if I wanted the upgrade, which is what I would expect. Unfortunately, the Fort Lee location didn't offer the same experience. Even after I asked, it felt like I was given weak excuses rather than a genuine effort to help. On top of that, the hojicha latte here was overly milky. I've had the same drink at other Maiko locations where it tasted much nuttier and more balanced, so this was disappointing. I really love Maiko overall, but based on these experiences, I wouldn't visit the Fort Lee location again.

We shared the dessert, and it was served almost instantly. That kind of speed is truly appreciated when you have a specific craving, and I left the cafe completely content with my choice. The Ambiance: Smooth and Relaxing The atmosphere here provides a much smoother and more relaxing experience than other high-traffic dessert locations. The cafe has a great flow; while people still come and go, it is never packed for hours. It offers a tranquil setting that allows patrons to enjoy their treats without feeling overwhelmed or rushed. The Service: Quick and Efficient The efficiency of the service was a highlight. Our bingsu was delivered almost instantly, which speaks to the staff's attentiveness and quick preparation. The service helped maintain the easygoing, yet efficient, pace of the cafe, making the whole visit pleasant. In summary, this is a top-tier option for superb, quickly-served desserts in a comfortable, relaxed environment. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a high-quality alternative to the usual packed spots!

The bingsoo options are all great - they come out large and fluffy with generous fillings. My favorite is the black sesame bingsoo, which has a delicious milk ice base topped with a nutty black sesame drizzle. Refreshingly cool and not too sweet. The medium size is great to share between ~3 people. I also tried the coffee and it was decent. Nice little cafe overall!

I got the yubu unagi and my friend got the yubu ikura. Both were really good, the rice used was very flavorful. It was a great appetizer. My friend loves fish roe and she said hers was very good. They are known for dipping ramen, but I didn't get that. I got the tonkotsu broth Ajitama because I didn't want that much meat and I wanted to make sure I got an egg. The broth was delicious, not too salty but very rich and umami in flavor. I love the addition of wood ear mushroom and the noodles had a great chewy texture. They have some claw machines in the front, it's $5 minimum spend which gets you 5 coins, each machine is one coin and there is one machine that gives you two tries for one coin. I would definitely come back again to try their spicy tonkotsu ramen!

When I was here it was nice seeing a variety of people around-- people doing work, friends hanging out, couples on dates, and families with their kids... it was nice to see a place that is very accommodating to different crowds! & they are open pretty late which is nice since cafes around here tend to close early. Went here with friends and we ordered ice cream to share and each a different drink-- overall, found everything to be a too sweet but at the same time lacking flavor?? For example, I got a matcha and found the drink to be too sweet but not tasting at matcha at all. Sadly a bit disappointing. I wish this was the kind of place where substance was equal to style but unfortunately found this place to be just alright-- more style over substance :(

There's also a nice variety of seating choices for all group sizes - with lower two- and four-top tables for small groups and higher seating by the front window. There's a decent amount of pastries on display along the queueing area, but from our last few visits here, it seems that the drinks and specialty desserts (bubble teas and specialty desserts like the shaved ices) are most popular. Since many of these are made-to-order, the line moves at a snail-like pace. During our last visit, the line crawled to a standstill for nearly ten minutes as the few workers struggled to get preceding orders out before accepting new ones. As a result, we had a ton of time to decide on what we wanted. It was a disappointing surprise to find out both our first and second choices were unavailable. The bingsoo, for instance, is a summer-only item, and they had no bubbles left for the bubble tea we wanted. Hung dry, we impulsively ordered two scoops of gelato - pistachio and matcha - both of which were squarely in the 'not sweet' category of Asian desserts. In fact, they were almost bitter and unlikeable. We also grabbed some walnut cookies, which turned out to be well past their prime and almost dry and crumbly in texture. While I had some qualms with quality and menu availability, I ended up enjoying my visit anyhow, as this was still a nice cafe to sit and pass the time. If you're needing a comfortable spot to work or people watch (with a more standard drink order in mind), this is a neat spot to do so. The cafe is part of a larger complex, and there's a decently sized parking lot attached.

Whether you're with kids, on a family outing, hanging out with friends, or just looking to recharge solo, this spot is perfect for any occasion. The food is great, made fresh right before your eyes, and the prices are very reasonable. For my part, I had my beloved hazelnut latte, while my husband went for a classic, straight coffee. The kid opted for cold brew and a matcha bingsoo. If you've never had bingsoo, you're in for a treat! The presentation alone is a work of art, featuring a fish-shaped serving of matcha-filled ice cream, topped with matcha ice cream, red beans, mochi, nuts, and light, fluffy ice shavings. One word: sublime! The staff is friendly and great at making recommendations. They also know how to brew a perfect cup of coffee: strong, just the way we like it. The space is well-maintained, and parking is metered, so keep that in mind.

Grabby toy machines located near the community table. We ordered several coffees, one black (me), one with cream and sugar and a cold brew. Their coffee is good! And we ordered a Green Tea Match Bingsu and got a massive bowl of shaved ice milk infused with mochi, a huge dollop of sweet red bean, surrounded by almond slivers and top with Bungeoppang (Taiyaki), a Korean fish shaped pastry that was split opened, smeared with sweet red bean and filled with green tea ice cream. Was it good? If you like your deserts on the sweeter side, yes it was. The shaved ice milk is richer than others I've had. The red bean paste is richer and very sweet. The mochi that is infused into the shaved ice adds texture as well as additional sweetness. The green tea ice cream is well, greet tea ice cream. And the Bungeoppang elevates higher. Is it my jam? Maybe not. A spoonful or too was enough. For what it is, amazing. I hear they have a mean Mango Bingsu that's seasonal, so yeah I'll be back!

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Not only does every ingredient dance in your mouth, but the soft beet infused crust makes this one of the best pizzas I've happily savored.

I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.
